You have to walk up a slight hill on Carver Street to get here, and it was no surprise that it was relatively packed with all the terrace seats taken. And yet, the ambiance was quite chill. Everyone was looking relaxed and definitely not on the make. Customers skewed a tad older here, which made us feel right at home. We were particularly impressed that the veteran bartender had a mixing container dedicated to their espresso martinis, so of course, we ordered a pair for $16 each (photo: https://yelp.to/VmjWNmEyk0). We sat near the fireplace and just let the smooth libations and mellow dudes give us the P-Town karma. With that being said,…read moreyou can imagine my glee when Truro was offering pours of cranberry wine on a late November afternoon during our visit. Wine in hand, we picked up just about every item in the gift shop and dreamt of a checked bag to stow it all away in. We meandered out to the tent and cozied around a fire pit to savor our glasses of wine. Back to my dreams of a checked bag: If I'd brought one, it'd be full of bottles of that exact cranberry wine and just enough bubble wrap to ensure safe transport. Our view was faintly lit by dainty string lights cheering up the out-of-season rows of grapes running up the hillside. My mom and I decided this would be a stunning wedding venue and got to pretend planning. I could've sat around that fire, sipping wine and chatting with mi familia, until I was old and gray. Truro Vineyards was the actualization of my every desire for a glass of cranberry vino, and I will remember it for time and eternity!

It's really good if you like sweet. Our guide was very clear and knowledgeable about the process of making the wines and the transportation of grapes to the vineyard. The rolling hills of grapes on vines, through pretty small compared to California wine country, provided a lovely backdrop on the property, where we were free to roam with our glasses. If you can't bring home any wine, the shop has great wine accessories and vineyard merchandise that I wish I got. Luckily, we each got to keep our Truro wine glass for more sipping in the future.

I passed on the mini-fridge but could not forego the parking space. As such, my bill came to $100 more than I expected to pay. And that was just the beginning. I figured I could make up for my lack of a mini-fridge with the ice machine, but there was none. At least, I couldn't find it after searching all three floors. The room itself lacked such basic amenities as a clock, a coffee maker, a microwave, a notepad, a telephone, and a table for my laptop. (Not being religious, I didn't bother to check for a Bible.) The lamps were somewhat dim, which made it difficult to read the book I had brought with me. And the nightstand was so shoddily made, it actually came apart when I moved it! I had to reassemble the damned thing. For good measure, the WiFi kept dropping out as well. To top it all off, I could hear the guest next door to me snoring. Good thing I brought earplugs. At $200+ a night, I expected much better than this.

For some wishful reason, I thought it was a full-out gay bar, but no, when we heard the booming voice of the drunken slattern at the bar, we knew it was a place that welcomed anybody and everybody. Nothing wrong with that but some show tunes would've been nice. We soon realized P-Town doesn't really have straight bars, just different flavors of gay ones. The bartender was friendly, but the vibe was off for us. We weren't into pool or ping-pong but still made time for a couple of their signature cocktails in paper cups, the $16 Margarita for Jamie and the $14 Blue Hawaiian for me (Photo 2). They were on the watery side, but hey, the evening was young. Apparently, the owner wanted to re-focus on that part of the business. *shrug* I used to come here around opening and see a lengthy line. The croissants are some of the best in the area. The individual tarts (lemon, raspberry, etc.) and cakes are beautifully designed and are appropriately sweet. The tart crusts were legit. I'll miss coming here for pastries/desserts. Under twinkling lights and cozy space heaters, we gathered with loved ones to enjoy oysters, meatballs, zucchini, and bruschetta that delighted every guest. Ciro & Sal's went above and beyond, setting up a charming outdoor bar in the gazebo, in their patio area, a perfect spot for our welcome speech and the heartfelt toasts from our mothers. Inside, the intimate dining room--complete with two fireplaces and impeccable service--created a warm and elegant atmosphere. With another fireplace upstairs, where many of our friends were seated, conversation and laughter filled the room, drowning out the carefully curated jazz-inspired Spotify playlist I'd made for dinner. The food was such a hit that several guests returned the very next night for another round of the chicken parm! After dinner, we moved outside for our first dance and the mother-son dances while the staff seamlessly transformed the upstairs into a lively dance floor--with a little help from our local DJ. The combination of delicious Northern Italian cuisine, inviting ambiance, and attentive service made our celebration truly magical, perfectly capturing the timeless charm Ciro & Sal's has been known for since the 1950s. With its rustic elegance, flexible indoor and outdoor settings, and exceptional hospitality, Ciro & Sal's is the ideal venue for any special occasion. We couldn't have imagined a better place to share such a meaningful milestone with our family and friends--many of whom, proud of their Italian heritage, said Ciro & Sal's far exceeded their expectations.

Made a must - needed Friday Eve Reservation for 5:30-7pm. We enjoyed good service w Soleil, she gave us 2 wine tastes to help us pick a bottle. Much appreciated as we enjoyed the selection of a #14 Montepulciano ($66). The warm bread with the olive oil and balsamic and cheese is yummy. My Appetizer was the yummy favorite, mushroom ravioli (2) in a pesto cream sauce. Just as delicious as always. Entree I chose lasagna and a side of veal meatballs. This was interesting in its big block tower of lasagna. I was excited until I cut in and the dried out over broiled pasta top wouldn't cut. So I pulled it off and sliced thru. I was disappointed that there wasn't a nice hot melted cheese top but instead, it was really dry. I asked for more red sauce to moisten it up. (Was this last nights piece reheated?) The side of 3 small meatballs were very good. Two Desserts, one tiramisu was good. One chocolate bread budding with the smallish topping of caramel cream was kinda dry that a fork cutting thru broke a hard chunk off. I like my bread pudding to be moist and creamy, not a firm block of bread. So the food was not as good as I hoped and my visiting buddy had a spaghetti marinara, and he was disappointed with it too.
