In the basement, there was a faded, lime-green water softener brine tank and recharge tank. It was "antique" - but wasn't in use (it had been bypassed). There on the front of that brine barrel was the logo for Fox Water. Since the tank was so old (30 years or more), I figured Fox Water might have been long gone - and I stared at it every day for two years before finally looking them up for an estimate on removing it and replacing it with something useful. Even though it was a few years ago, the conversation on the phone stands out in my memory as the thing that sold me on hiring them. It's a family-owned and operated business - and they really know their stuff. The price for a new water softener was agreeable and the experience of "water softener sales and service" was as titilating as it sounds. Now I have soft water, which makes everything about my life a little bit better. But wait, there's more... A little over a year ago, we heard some disturbing news about some of the wells in Madison - that there were chemicals in some of the wells, but they were "within acceptable limits". Our concern (and our desire for tastier water) led us to buying bottled water (for a dispenser) from Fox Water. I choose to run the empties back to Fox Water every month or so, and lug the full ones home and into my basement for storage. Just yesterday, I stopped in to drop off the empties and pick up some full jugs - and the chap who loaded my water in my truck complimented my baby for being awesome. Their price for bottled water (from Nicolet) is very reasonable - they're always friendly when I stop in - but when you compliment my baby, congratulate me on being a dad and shake my hand? Sold. Customer for life.

They got me in that same day, fixed the disposal and tightened the faucet without me having to ask. A previous plumber had actually come to tighten said faucet previously, but it is a weird/fancy XL industrial style and he said he couldn't do it without a tool from the manufacturer. We didn't feel like it was a wasted service call as we enjoy learning about one of the vital machines that help keep our water safe and our sink from staining. Our softener was under 7 years old and we weren't pressured to buy a new one (thankfully). He gave us his card and mentioned that he will check in a the next week or so to see how things are going. The first time I called them, Stan showed up at 07:50 a.m. for an appointment at 08:00 on a Saturday - but he hung out in his truck and waited until eight on the nose to knock on the door. I had a clog in my sink drain that was too far down for my snake to reach. He measured from the sink and the main, cut out a bit of pipe, cleaned it out, and then installed a T joint with a plug I could take out if I needed. Now, there's no part of the pipe I can't reach with the snake. That was the first of many great interactions. At this point, I tell them what the problem is, and they come fix whatever it is, and I pay them. I trust them so much that I don't need to talk to them before they fix something.
