French Fries -- You can't over order these!
    Jennifer Y.

My boyfriend plays in a pool league and Rum Runner is his billard home. One week, I'm hungry and mentions these "delicious" wings - OK, I'm intrigued. I wasn't ready for how SPECTACULAR these bad boys really are. Blackened and tossed in Cholula - I think they should call them the "Alex" special, LOL! The fries are amazing - we usually need to order a larger one it because they just disappear! Pro tip: have some patience they're a small business and so busy - I have NEVER been disappointed with the quality of food or service. BE KIND. They're doing their best! Stay tuned - Breakfast date in the future is next!

Delicious burger and in a small cozy Cafe that opens 24 hours, be right there. Best $15 burger and it was the juiciest and tastiest. Food and drinks were served promptly and server was very kind. Can't wait to come back!!!

This has been one of those local secrets that's definitely worth checking out. It's right next to a bar Rum Runner for those late night cravings and bar food apps. The ambiance is very casual bar vibes and many just chooses to-go rather than dining in, but again it caters to a specific patron, especially for those late night cravings. Service is okay, it does tend to take long but it's understandable for a small staff at the time I went (late late night).

Food/Taste/Flavor: 3/5 - we ordered the daily special of Pot Roast and a Farmer's Breakfast with over easy eggs and chicken fried steak. The pot roast was tender but the sauce was a bit gloopy and thick. The mashed potatoes were good but the green beans flavorless and soggy. We're not quite sure what the soup of the day was but we know it wasn't good. The Farmer's Breakfast was good but the steak was a bit over and dry. The toast was EXTREMELY buttered which was great for one of us. Ambience: 4/5 - attached to a Rum Runner gaming place, we were a bit hesitant to walk into the little shop. However, it was quite cozy inside but the tables are packed together! The location does seem a bit more run down though. Service: 5/5 - friendly and attentive and made some recommendations on the menu. Value for price: 4/5 - cheap and quick eat for any hour of the day!

After my exploration at Sunset Park, I came here for breakfast. This is one of the video poker bars that changed after the Clean Indoor Air Act was passed by the voters. This law does not allow smoking where food is served so businesses like this had to go non-smoking or in the case of the Badger Cafe, it became two areas--one for the bar and gaming area, and one for the food area separated by a wall. The other half is known as the Rum Runner and is a bar and video poker place. They are allowed to rbing food from the cafe into the abr area. At the beginning, the few patrons and I had a bit of entertainment. Two women were fighting in the parking lot (verbally) and the language would make a sailor blush. At one point, one of them got in their van and made some circles in the lot before aiming at the other woman--stopping in time. Eventually, she left, and the incident was over. I had placed my order for the master omelette with rye toast. One glitch here was the toast was served about 4 minutes before the omelette was served. The food was OK. The menu is small. The Badger is open 24/7, so if you have the need for food, it's available!

    Smaller then I expected

Four stars? I don't think so, but still very good! Came early morning for a quick breakfast before leaving town. Came here mainly for the four stars it's rated as. A real greasy spoon type of place which I love but others may not. The area is sketchy at best. The manager was good guy who takes your order and cooks your food at the same time. Did he wash his hands. Hmm, not sure. Overall, the prices were great! You get a lot of food and it is very good. The value is outstanding! I am from Wisconsin, but probably won't make a return visit. Not what I anticipated.

Customer service alone was impeccable, lots of restaurants should learn from this establishment, very personable And felt like I was in someone's home. Food was made with love and don't get me started on them wings , FIREEEE

Looking for sandwich place led to me finding Badger Cafe on Yelp. The place was a typical old-school type diner / coffee shop; nothing special and nothing to complain about in terms of the interiors. Parking was a non-issue so that's always good. We got the spicy pastrami sandwich and tuna salad sandwich both on rye with fries. I had asked for no mayo on my bread but, sadly, this wasn't followed. The tuna was alright; I had to add salt and pepper to get some taste and I now wish that I had ordered something else instead. The spicy pastrami sandwich was yummy with the heat coming from the jalapeño pieces, not the meat. Speaking of which, the pastrami was tender and tasted as expected. Apart from the mayo snafu, I have no complaints on the service. The sandwiches came out quickly and the prices were very reasonable. I think this place is a solid 4 based on today's visit. I'd recommend this joint if you want something hearty and value-priced especially if you have a craving in the middle of the night (it's apparently open 24/7).

There was about a 10 minute wait to order, which we didn't mind given how crowded it was. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill when it was our turn. The staff member taking our order said, "do you know what you want?" in an unwelcoming tone. Even though, his tone turned me off, we still placed an order (...probably shouldn't have). We ordered the Freckled Redhead burger ($16) and the Chicken with Mac Waffle ($17). After ordering, we were given a number and waited outside. The food came out after about 20 minutes and we took it home to eat. A different staff member served our to-go order and she seemed nice. As much as we wanted to enjoy it, the food was just OK. The chicken was seasoned well but it seemed over fried, which made it dry. The waffle itself was decent but only had a small amount of mac and cheese inside. I had seen previous photos where mac and cheese was also served on the side, so that was disappointing. My boyfriend had the burger and said it was just OK as well...nothing special and not really worth the price. Overall, the staff member taking orders didn't seem very friendly or welcoming, and should probably take a break or work in the back. The food wasn't exciting like we hoped. We give it 2 stars. Even though we live nearby, we probably wouldn't return for the food. Maybe the coffee and drinks are better, but based on this experience, I cannot recommend this place.

We always make a…read morestop in Vegas to stock up on groceries and grab brunch before heading to Zion for camping. The food here is incredibly fresh and absolutely delicious - but they really need to step up their dishwashing and make sure the food is served hot. There's nothing worse than ordering coffee and seeing purple lipstick on the rim of your cup. It makes you want to leave right away. Then comes the inner debate - do you say something and risk being that customer, or just wipe it off and move on? On top of that, getting food that's supposed to be hot but arrives cold is frustrating. You sit there wishing you were at home where you could just microwave it - because the food is that good and would taste even better at the right temperature. Our experience wasn't helped by our waiter, who seemed disinterested after the lipstick incident (same guy mentioned in previous reviews that comes off rude AF/ agreed!). We didn't feel like asking for much after that. On the bright side, one of the waitresses was amazing - she looked like she was carrying the whole place. The chef clearly knows what she's doing because the food coming out of the kitchen was fantastic. That said, attention needs to be paid to cleanliness and serving hot food. There's no excuse for that. Despite these issues, I gave it five stars because the problems are fixable and don't take away from how incredible the food is. For reference, we visited on Friday, January 3rd, in the morning. There was a nearby parking structure and no wait time. The decor is a mix of farm-to-table and modern bistro - nothing overly exciting or disappointing. We were just looking for a good brunch spot, and this place is truly a hidden gem. Hopefully, they address the concerns we mentioned because it's worth coming back for! __________ To the Chef, Your food is incredible - truly Michelin-worthy. However, the staff is serving it cold and sometimes on dirty dishes. This isn't the first review mentioning these issues. Also, the tall white guy with grey hair was incredibly condescending and rude. Hospitality doesn't seem to be the right fit for him. It's disappointing to see someone like that representing the amazing work and love you pour into your dishes. On the flip side, the waitress with long brown hair was picking up the slack and holding the place together. She deserves recognition - maybe even a promotion. I hope you see this because if the team can consistently serve food hot and on clean dishware, this place could easily become the top brunch spot around. We appreciate your talent and hope this feedback is helpful! - Vee & Mike

It has a rustic, darker ambiance and not your usual bright and sunny brunch spots. The menu not too big, but offered enough varieties that we decided to try the biscuit and gravy as well as the corned bee hash. We also got house coffee and they were from mother ship coffee. Food came out quickly, but they were lukewarm and felt like it was already made and just put under a food light to be kept warm. The biscuit was good and soft, but the gravy was a little too salty. The corned beef came in a smaller portion than I expected, and the beef was diced too thin that they didn't have great texture and flavor. Coffee was good, but overall food was not as good as we'd expect. Service was average, the waitress was nice but didn't offer much service besides bringing out initial water and coffee over. No one really checked in on us after the food was served. I'd most likely not be back as there are many other brunch places in the downtown area to explore.

The Grilled Oysters were not a favorite. However, I think that's just personal preference because of the style they are prepared in. We prefer our grilled oysters to be very charred and more of a buttery flavor. These are prepared in an Asian style and and more of a soft grill than a char. Our server very graciously had a second plate served up with more of a grill to the oyster which we appreciated. The rest of the dishes were delicious. We were so full that we passed on dessert, but would definitely be back because the options were inventive and looked so tasty. A doughnut bread pudding, a bourbon brownie; yes to both please!
