I got the racer burger and fries for around $16(little pricey). BUT WOW, this might be my favorite smash burger ever. Everything was to perfection including the fries. The pickles are pretty spicy for anyone who dislikes spice. And the racer sauce is unreal.

Cafe Racer is clearly a breakfast institution in Athens, especially among University of Georgia…read morestudents. From the moment we arrived, it was obvious this place has built a loyal following. The setup is simple: place your order, grab a seat, and enjoy. What made me laugh was that many of the "tables" are surrounded by lawn chairs. It's not what I expected, but somehow it fits the laid-back personality of the place perfectly. There are a few traditional tables available, but the lawn-chair seating adds to the charm. I ordered the "My Pleasure" biscuit, which comes with fried chicken, egg, and cheese. The chicken was flavorful, and the sandwich was very tasty overall. The chicken was a little dry when combined with the biscuit, but not enough to keep me from enjoying it. It was still a satisfying breakfast and easy to see why it's a popular menu item. If you're looking for a quick, casual, and uniquely Athens breakfast experience, Cafe Racer is worth a stop. Good food, reasonable prices, and enough personality to make the meal memorable.

After taking my first bite my initial thought was 'I will never order this again". I got the pork…read morebelly rice bowl and I absolutely and fully regret eating it. I feel gross and it was such a let down. If y'all know me, you know I'm big on being greeted within the first few seconds of walking into an establishment. The gal didn't say anything to me, just stood at the register waiting for me to order. I asked her what she would recommended between the pork belly bowl or the curry chicken noodle soup and she just said it just depends on if I wanted noodles or rice.. that should Have been my first clue. I hate leaving bad reviews... but this is not my first visit here. The first time I ordered the dumplings with chili sauce, and the older lady was super sweet and it was super delicious. My only qualms were how FILTHY the trash can was and how empty the place was... I was the only customer. It was the same this go around too... no customers, and the trash can was STILL FILTHY!! (And I know they're not busy enough to not get up off their butts and clean!!!) I digress.... The reason I feel grossed out is because the fried egg was barely fried, and there was no seasoning or pizazz to it at all... just a sunny side up on rice and pork belly. The pork belly itself was not fresh. It must have been cooked either earlier in the day or a few days before. I know this because of how the fat in the pork belly tasted. It wasn't cooked well either... there was no crisp to the top part whatsoever and the fatty part.... Well that was the grossest part. It was that gummy slimy texture and that is anything but pleasant. I'm really hoping this place turns itself around.. because I do dig the vibe, but they need to get un lazy and start caring a little more. And I'm not seeing their vision... are they a donut shop.... Hot dog shop... or Asian food...??? I think they would attract more business with a more definitive theme. Like I said, I hate leaving poor reviews, but I'm doing so in hopes they see it. (Oh ya, because calling with a critique is out of the question.... They don't answer their phone!! Tried calling to put in my order). Come Mochinut, do better!!! PLEASE!!!

Indonesian fare is definitely not what I was thinking about today, but after living in Atlanta and…read moreknowing there are a lot of culinary choices, I decided to run by after seeing a new addition on the Mochinut Athens Menu -- they have Indonesian curry chicken on the menu, along with the Indonesian version of hainanese soy-sauce chicken! I was not disappointed except that Chef V said she had to stop doing the Indonese chicken (look it up) and make everything white meat for the locals in Athens. I hope that changes. The soy ginger sauce was excellent. The curry chicken is a definite try for those who would like to sample something different and hot and tasty! In short: Try the spicy dumplings, the curry chicken and the soy sauce chicken dishes here and maybe have a nice pandam mochi donut at the end!

Walking in, we were instantly greeted. The gal at the register was really nice. My family and I glanced over the donut cases to see what they all had. Some of the donuts looked good and some looked questionable. You can tell the glaze on the glazed donuts were starting to liquify. We decided on a few goodies. The gal behind the counter was sweet and got our donuts individually. We also got a 25 pack of donut holes to take for later. The gal also answered a few questions about the coffee since it was my first time ordering one of their drinks. I got myself an iced pistachio oat milk latte. My husband also got an order of the ham and cheese sliders on the pretzel bun at the very least minute. I wish I can say the donuts were fresh. They were pretty stale. I would almost compare them to grocery store donuts. The ham and cheese sliders were pretty good. Lots of ham. They were nice and hot! I appreciate that the pretzel bun wasn't overly salted. I love my drink. The pistachio latte was a winner! Very very very good! You can tell this venue has been neglected. The floors are very sticky. The bathrooms are dirty. There's trash on the floor. It makes you not want to eat here. If the venue is this unattended, I can only imagine what it looks like behind the register. The service, coffee and sliders were great. But everything else was just a flop. For my first time at Dunkin it was ok. I probably wouldn't come back knowing how dirty this joint is. I hope not all Dunkins are like this one. Makes me want to just stick to Krispey Kreme.
