    Green beans

I was excited to try this place and had heard good things but was left disappointed due to a few things. One of those things was the service, our waitress was a bit cold and did not check on us throughout our visit. On to the food, the roasted chicken was tasty but incredibly hard to cut and honestly not that much meat. We struggled using butter knives to carve slices from the chicken. In addition, the potatoes that came with our chicken were HORRIBLE, something was deeply wrong like they were possibly reheated or had gone bad. Thankfully we also ordered the potato gratin which was tasty although small and the green beans. Overall I likely would probably not return, as the chicken did not really wow us, which for a specialty restaurant I think it should've been more memorable.

Friendliest staff in NYC ive ever encountered. It's a cozy romantic kind of classy place... But…read morehappy to seat a few tourists touring elementary ages kids. The host had even set a table aside for us with coloring pages (based on the mural on the opposite wall, which they loved realizing). Everything was absolutely perfect. The Gougère (a cheese puff pastry) was airy, light and I loved it, more than anyone else at the table. The fried artichokes were more broiled (tasted healthier) and came in a slightly acidic tahini sauce. The sauce was a light layer on the dish instead of on top to keep the brussel sprouts from getting soggy. I got the moules frites, fantastic, no notes. My son got the kids steak and fries which came with a salad he ate first. The price ($22) for a "kids" meal seemed steep, but the steak alone was probably worth the price, and actually seasoned. This is the type of kids meal that builds kids who actually like food. We got some zero cocktails (not enough sleep to drink and travel the next day) and they were great. If I'm at the NU hotel again, this is going to be a must stop place. Total bull was 222 (before tip) for 3 adults and 2 kids. So expensive, but well worth it, and honestly not terrible for NYC standards.

It was decently full on a Tuesday afternoon. It's bigger than expected since there's seats around the corner from the back and there's a patio in the back. It looked like most of the other guests didn't order from Restaurant Week. Some of them were sharing salads that looked really big for an appetizer. I ordered chilled corn vichyssoise and burger royale. My friend ordered frenchie salad and moules normande. Our portions weren't as crazy what we saw other people get. I like how my chilled corn vichyssoise is creamy and refreshing without being too cold or sweet. The radish, watervress, and pickled okra provided different textures and flavors with each sip. They also sprinkle chives and some oil on top to add more layers. My friend's frenchie salad came out to be a few large pieces of lettuce leaves spread out with dressing and toppings added on top. She found it a bit tiring to need to cut up the large leaves, and the ratio of toppings with greens is off. She found it to be too much dressing and bacon. There were small bits of something we're not sure of, might be mustard seeds. We like how there's a small crunch and some earthy flavor, not too strong. For mains, my burger royale came out medium rare as requested. It was smaller than expected but with a double patty, the portions are sufficient. I like how they used raclette cheese which is more unique and comes with a nice cheese pull. The french dressing added to the bun was a little too wet and oily but tolerable. I like how the lettuce is shredded which helps distribute it amongst bites. The fries are thin which is also what I prefer more. They were slightly too brown for me. It's so funny the way they pile up the fries. I can't imagine myself finishing it but will be disappointed if it's a smaller pile. Many pieces were short which made it hard to pick up. Overall decent portions and flavors. I'd be open to coming again if I'm looking for a restaurant in the area.
