    Pig Candy - yum!
    Lynn H.

So good! The food is the star, but the service and the ambiance are both good, as well. We started with the pig candy - candied bacon - and it was to die for. For entrees, hubby ordered the Edward, which he absolutely loved, and I ordered the taco platter with pulled pork and chopped brisket, which I absolutely loved. We both also ordered two meat platters to go, with pulled pork, brisket, and burnt ends. For sides we ordered cornbread, pit beans, collared greens, and potato salad. Every darn item is delicious.

Best BBQ in town! The interior is rustic with a down home/chic feel. The food is fantastic. They have a wide variety of bbq items along with salads, burgers and even tacos. The service is excellent as well. Th prices are reasonable and the portions are large. A must try if you love bbq.

My husband I went her for the first time tonight and we will definitely be back. The place is nice and large and has a woodsy cabin feel. If there is a wait you are able to put your name on the waitlist from your phone. This saves a lot of time having to wait at the restaurant. They do have a large waiting area although it does not have seats to sit on. Our waitress was super nice. The food was great. We got the pulled chicken. For sides we had collard greens, mac and cheese and sweet potato mash. They were all really good but the mac and cheese was phenomenal. Can't wait to go back.

I met up with a friend here on their recommendation. There was a wait for a table and it may have been longer if we were not on the reservations list. It took about 35 minutes to be seated. The waitress quickly gave us menus and explained the foox items and how everything was cooked fresh. I ordered the bbq platter with smoked fried chicken and brisket. My sides were cornbread, greens and baked beans. The meal quickly arrived. The meat was great.. There are 3 types of homemade sauces on the table, sweet, spicy snd a combination. The brisket wss cooked well and had a good taste. The chicken was also good and had a nice smoky flavor. The greens were cooked well and seasoned great. The baked beans were also cooked from scratch. The cornbresd was a nice big slice. It had jalapeños added as a nice touch. The waiter was very attentive and the meal was good and flavorful. I plan on checking this spot out again.

    Grits. So good

Went here for the 3rd time. Most of us didn't want ribs as they saw burgers and pizza. So we shared pizza and a slab. The slabs are market rate so in Oct 2025 it was ~$27 for half/$38 for full. Full meaty ribs. They had the texture of par boiled which isn't my thing but one of us liked. The beans were a no for all of us though they did have some brads meat but not enough. Now the grits were so good. I mean so much that I'd come back for those alone! And i wasn't the only one. The pizza was good. We wanted dessert but they were out of their banana cream pie. We had a sundae but that was vanilla ice cream & chocolate syrup. I'd pass on that. The service is always good. We had Jill today. They handle groups well and the menu will work for almost everyone except vegans. We spent about $75 for us, no drinks, tip, tax which we thought was ok and had leftovers

Tried Bad Brads BBQ recently, and overall it was a solid experience! We ordered the burnt ends, which were delicious, tender and flavorful, though a bit on the pricey side. I did like that they came with pickles, sides, and tortillas, but still small portion. The two-meat plate was also really good and felt fair for the price. The chicken nachos were a classic crowd-pleaser, something anyone would enjoy. The service was friendly and attentive, even if it was a little slow at first (especially since it wasn't super busy yet). They made up for it by keeping our drinks refilled and checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. The atmosphere was fun and relaxed, kind of like being at a backyard cookout, which fit the BBQ vibe perfectly. A little spendy overall, but for good food and a chill experience, I'd definitely go back!

The bar was filled with people waiting for to go orders that took almost an hour to fulfill. The people dining in were waiting for 30+minutes, including myself, as a table of two. When people were questioning and complaining (not us), they were reassured the food was in progress and they did not know the hold up. Lack of ownership throughout the entire dining experience. They did not serve me sweet potato muffins, for what is now my fourth visit in a row. They ultimately took it off the check-- obviously. But for the fourth time now, I have not received these so called muffins I'm unsure even exist. XD. the ambiance was chill and I love the set up, there is just no room for overflow. So, people quickly start to pile up, even next to the tables people are actively dining at. I will likely not join the next outing I am invited to here. Good luck, Cornbread.

It's been a long time since I've been there! I was greeted as soon as I walked in the door, which was quite nice. Lots of servers around to help you, too! I didn't know what to expect since the word 'bar' has been added to their name. I had looked at their menu at home so I knew what I was going to order! Broasted 1/2 chix, greens, sweet potatoes, and potatoes salad! It came with cornbread! It was all quite tasty! But ambiance was quite nice wasn't noisy like a bar and I sort of think I heard music but I was busy eating because the food looked and smelled good! The server commented laughingly commented, 'the only thing I didn't touch was my water!' My doctor will be glad to hear that!

Arkin's is a small carry-out only place that sells sandwiches, dinners, and meat by the pound. The sides are à la carte; except for the dinners. Before we even get to the food, let's talk about the staff. They are some of the sweetest and friendliest people you could ever meet! Even with the place being busy, they didn't rush us to order or to get out of the door. They chatted with us and made us feel welcome - as if we'd been going there for years! And every time we return it's like talking to old friends. It's so very refreshing in the current social climate! Now the food: 'Delicious' is too weak a word to describe it! I got the chicken sandwich, which came with slaw and jalapeño pickles. The sliced chicken breast was broasted and had a nice crispy skin. The seasoning was so good I didn't even want to put sauce on it! The slaw was awesome and I didn't detect mayo, so I was able to enjoy it. I added a side of greens, which were delicious. Not everyone can make greens.... My husband got a brisket sandwich - also with slaw and jalapeño pickles included. He got a side of potato wedges, which were broasted and seasoned to perfection. I almost regretted my greens choice .. almost.... The piece of brisket my husband let me taste was awesome - and I hate brisket; but not Arkin's! We filled our bellies that day and went back the next day to buy a dinner for my dad plus some meat by the pound for us to enjoy over the snowy weekend. Funny, they didn't seem surprised to see us back so soon! LOL. My dad enjoyed his meal too, and we gave him directions to the restaurant. Our other return visits have been equally as pleasant. The quality of the staff and food never disappoint! Very happy to have our expectations exceeded in this case. Great food, great staf

Fries were scratch made with a uniques shape that had visual grooves that I had not seen at any other restaurant. Aside from the unique shape they were nice and crispy and quite tasty in their own right. Cleary a superior burger and fries versus other restaurants that are in the area. Aside from the food I had their Old School Margarita and their Deadwood Old Fashioned. The Margarita was just OK in my opinion. Basis of the drink was 1800 tequila which I am not a fan of and Cointreau. Seemed to lack the Agave Forward notes I look for and lime component was not as bright as I like it either. However, the Deadwood Old Fashioned with the Woodford Reserve Bourbon was outstanding and definately one of the better made ones in the area. The restaurant itself has a nice ambiance about it with rustic western vibe which I really like. There is also a large outdoor dining area to take advantage of the nicer days which is something to consider if that is what you are looking for. Relative to staff, they are so friendly and outgoing with excellent follow up throughout the meal and clearly a strength of this business. Overall a great dining option in the Northville area and worth checking out if you are in the area.

We ordered a large jerk chicken with oxtail gravy on top, rice and red beans, beef patty and coco bread as well as two sweet potato brownies.... we didn't get photos of those. The beef patty was perfectly flaky and flavorful (not spicy), the coco bread was the perfect texture/sweetness to offsite the spice from the jerk chicken - which we ordered medium spice and although it was just spicy enough for me, it was too spicy for my husband. The chicken was tender and flavorful, the oxtail gravy gave it that extra kick. The cabbage was good too, not bland but not overly seasoned to take away from the chicken. I personally didn't care for the flavor or texture of the brownies, it was more like a soft layer of sweet potato on top on a cake bottom layer - if that makes sense, but my husband loved it.
