My second mistake was ordering steamed clams for $14.99...I doubt it was even half a pound. They tasted boiled. The bread that came with it was the best part of the meal and sopped up the juices pretty well. You get better clams from a Chinese buffet on a weekend where you get a meal for the same price as the clams. The salad I got with the platter was also pretty good, very standard. Hard to mess up a salad. The place is very tiny inside and not great for groups. We waited a couple hours to seat six people. It's decorated like an old Hooters and has that kind of feel. Service was 3 stars. It's super loud and noisy inside and she was trying to take our orders from across the table at the other end and I couldn't hear a word she said and she seemed offended when I asked her to come closer. A medium pizza was quite substantial and I struggled to finish it. The vegetable options for toppings were respectable and some were marked as locally sourced. The peppers I got were lightly pickled but the flavor worked well, and some mushrooms added more substance. Even the small sized salad was a pretty good size and it came with their house bleu cheese as well as some generic croutons. I probably got the best order I could here, and it was distinctive in quality and generous in portion enough that I could see why the place is a successful local institution.

I will say that the wait staff is fine and deserves a fair amount of grace. They can only do so much. If I were the owner I would fire the kitchen manager, the bar manager, and myself out of embarrassment. The entire system needs thrown out and redone. Perhaps just sell the building to someone who actually cares about the business and wants to make proper changes. Once again, the food took forever to come out, and after well over two hours we only got two of four items ordered. The quality of the food was fair to poor at best. You will never find yourself craving anything from here. Then you have the poorly stocked bar. They ran out of three things while we were there. All before 8pm on a Saturday. Their whisky selection is embarrassing for a place with a Cigar Lounge. At this point we will only go back for events and we will be either eating before or just taking our own food to eat there. Probably our own drinks too since they can't seem to do that right. Mismanaged. Uninspired. Underwhelming. Embarrassing. Wasteful. Shameful.
