We went in on a Saturday evening and I was expecting a really long wait for a table, and food. I was very pleased when that did not happen with either. The service was great, staff were all super friendly and the food was excellent. read more

This place needs some help in many ways. Their website says to call for a reservation. We were staying at the comfort inn and coukd see the parking lot looked full. We called and they said no reservations. We walked over and noticed there are NO lights in the parking lot. This made it feel dangerous with cars driving around and very unsafe. After a few minute wait we were seated. Our waitress was either new or off her game that day. Our drink order eas taken fast, but that's where the positives end. She didn't come back for almost 20 minutes ro take our order. Another table that came in after us already had their food before we even ordered! The rest of the night was like this. Someone at a nearby table went to the bar for another beer because she took so long with them too. We were ready to leave but our waitress was nowhere to be found for almost half an hour. By that point the restaurant was practically empty. It's almost like she forgot we were still there. The food was decent, but a little overpriced for what it was. I ordered bbq while my wife had the rotisserie chicken. I thought it was a little bland. I overheard our waitress say they often have people come in who don't want to wait at the other steakhouse nearby. I would say change your plans to something else. You'll be thankful you did. read more

Another terrible experience at this place. Took over 50 minutes to get our order once we placed it. The wait staff moved at half speed, and seemed disinterested in being there. Food is very good, just set aside 2 hours to enjoy it. read more

We were so glad that they have Senior small menu! My 1/4 dark meat chicken with broccoli was ok but way too soft; my husband enjoyed his fried steak with baked beans. Chicken was well roasted; steak was crispy and the gravy was delicious. The young server was nice and friendly. But she did not know any beer from local and did not know about fried steak neither. But she cared about our food also drinks. I have to mention that another young server who was putting her leg on the sofa while she was talking to a customer We think this is a bad manners. People there we saw were mostly happy and enjoyed food and conversations. Nice cozy place for everyone and so close to our hotel Comfort Inn and Suite. read more

This is a wonderful, locally owned restaurant! The atmosphere was quaint, our server (Amber) was very attentive, and you can't beat the food!! We had the ribs and WOW!!! We have never tasted ribs that good before! They are so tender and the meat literally falls off the bone! If you are looking for a great place to eat, check them out!! read more

I ordered takeout at 8:40 PM (about 20 minutes before closing). The order was ready promptly at 8:52 PM and the transaction was fast and easy. Unfortunately, that was the highlight of my experience. I ordered half rack of ribs, sweet potatoes, and broccoli. Instead of sweet potatoes I was served russet potatoes, which ended up being the best part of the meal. The broccoli was overcooked (soggy and soft), the toast was soggy as well, which could happen due to the 10 minute drive back to the hotel, and the ribs were underwhelming. Primarily because the "spicy" sauce was: 1. Not spicy at all 2. Provided separate of the ribs (normally one expects the sauce to have been applied to the meat and heated to allow the flavor to permeate the meat. Not in this case!) 3. The sauce tasted like it was purchased from the local supermarket and was of the budget variety. The appearance of the building was reminiscent of a Texas roadhouse and really got my hopes up. Unfortunately the meal was far from satisfactory. I don't see myself going back. read more

We walked in around dinner time on a Sunday. Empty. That should have said something. The few people in there were eating but none looked happy or lively. Three of us. One ordered the pulled pork sandwich. One ordered the brisket sandwich. One ordered potato soup and salad. Prices were very high for what was served. Food was cool. Small portions. The brisket came with 10 French fries. Not steak fries. Ten freaking French fries. Half of which were smashed into the brisket under the toast. Cole slaw was bland. Sauce on brisket was so tasteless. The pulled pork looked good. But nothing special. Tasted like it came from a container bought at the store. The potato soup was bland as well. Waste of a lot of money. This town sucks for decent food. Sad story when Dennys is a better choice. read more

Horrible service everyone was just standing around waited 10 minutes for drinks. Waitresses walk like turtles

I should have known it was bad when I went there for lunch and the place was empty. My husbands steak was very dry and had no flavor he used a whole bottle of A-1 just to get the flavor. My steak sandwich was o.k. it had more lettuce then meat. The fries were cold and it would have been nice if we were offered a refill on our drinks. Very overpriced as well. I asked to speak to a manager but after 10 minutes of waiting we left. Won't be back. read more

Big food! Like, large quantities of food. I was recently in the area for business, and I stayed in LaVale for the first time. This restaurant was in walking distance of my hotel, so I decided to give it a shot. Let's talk decor first - it's comfy, with both indoor and outdoor dining options. There are TVs in several locations. There is also a large bar, with many beers and hard liquor. Wine choices are sad. Sutter Home in individual bottles. Not a winner in that regard. I ordered a cup of the cream of crab soup and a chicken quesadilla. The quesadilla came with two sides- that was unexpected. I chose a side salad and broccoli with cheese sauce. The soup - kind of disappointing. It had odd lumps, I think from an undercooked / undermixed roux. Not really super flavorful- definitely needed more seasoning. The salad was good -no disappointment with the veg at all. I had to take the rest of the food back to my room, as I was really full. This restaurant is completely prepped for to-go food, which is great! Paying was awkward. The ticket is brought to your table, but you pay at the bar. And I waited for a few minutes before someone finally came to let me pay. Totally weird situation. A few hours later, I tried the quesadilla and broccoli. The chicken was great, but the outside of the quesadilla had a super salty garlic seasoning on the outside. I could literally feel myself swelling with a single bite. I paid extra for the guacamole that was really bad, but the "salsa" was Pace Picante sauce. Not a winner, which was pretty bad. The broccoli wasn't terrific either. The cheese sauce was that orangy yellow sauce that isn't really great. Oh well. At least the salad was a winner. Don't think I'll return to this restaurant again, but it is a local, non-chain place that deserves business. I guess you just have to find something that tastes good. read more

We stopped here while traveling on the interstate. The food was good. Prices were reasonable. Waiter as friendly and prompt.

We just left the restaurant. I will say it is expensive. We paid $10 for 3 pepsis and a 7 ounce steak is $30!!! The food was also very bland. It wasn't worth the money, nothing special about it. The service wasn't that great either we waited for a while for our food and there were only 2 other tables in the entire restaurant. All the servers were just sitting there talking in the lobby while we were trying to get our server. I will say they are nice but at the end when we went to checkout we weren't told that we had to go to the counter to check out. So we sat there for 15 minutes waiting for our server, until another customer told us. In the end, you're better off going to the actual Texas Roadhouse, less expensive, better service and better food. read more

The three stars is because the wait staff and bartender were great. I had the beef tips and noodles, the noodles were gelatinous the beef was tough! The crabs cakes were tasteless. This is one of those places you only wish was close to home. I stopped while driving through, very easy access off the highway. Food was excellent! I had the open face beef sandwich with mashed potatoes and wife had half rack of ribs and fries. The portions are large and prices are pretty reasonable. We were able to sit outside without any wait. The server was very friendly and offered her opinion on entrees when asked. Will definitely go back if ever in the area again. read more

Got take out on 8/3/22. Big order under name Miguel. Food was good. Service was great. Girl who took order, did a great job and tended to my order as it was prepared and brought it out to me, as I was having a drink waiting for it. Got home with order and everything was spot on. She did a great job. They even helped me to my car with order. Very satisfied. read more

The country corn bread was microwaved and had an odd texture. I ordered the rotisserie chicken with broccoli and sweet potato fries (up charge for the fries). The chicken was dry and could not be eaten without a lot of bbq sauce. The broccoli was raw and covered with gas station nacho cheese. The sweet potato fries were very old and cold. The food was terrible and overpriced. I will never eat here again and adamantly advise you pass on this place. read more

Have never had a bad meal here, and the service has always been great!! Everything from the BBQ to the seafood tastes amazing.

My partner and I had a great experience. We ended up here by accident this past Sunday. Driving back from Pittsburgh we got a flat and the only place open to patch a tire on a Sunday was in Lavale, MD. We had a few hours to kill and went there to eat to support a local business and to try something other than the chain restaurants in the area. Our waitress was extremely friendly and attentive. I forget her name but she was on this Sunday, 10/4 around 12:30. The greeter and woman on the register were very friendly as well. As soon as we walked in you could see and smell the rotisserie chicken. The smell was amazing. We both looked at the menu but ended up ordering the same thing. (which never happens as we like to try what the other got) He got a half chicken, I got a half all dark meat. Mashed and gravy and broccoli and cheese. The chicken was some of the best chicken I have ever eaten in my life. It was juicy and extremely flavorful. Even the white meat. The mashed potatoes were super buttery and even had a few lumps so you know they were homemade. The gravy was perfect. Broccoli and cheese was cooked perfectly. Also, all the food that walked past us to other tables looked really good. I can't wait until the next time we go to Pittsburgh in the spring and we can stop by again to try out more of the menu. And to also take a whole rotisserie chicken home. Thanks for making what was originally a bad moment into a memory. read more

We walked in this restaurant and a young woman walked towards us, I said Hi and that there are 3 of us and she did not utter a word to us nor smiled, simply grabbed menus and laid them on the table of a booth and walked off. My FIL ordered the $31 ribeye which they overcooked and therefore was not tender, a salad that consisted of iceberg salad mix with one crouton and one cherry tomato. My husband and I ordered crab cakes that were tasteless and obviously not made in house. There is a sign posted on the door as you enter that says in part they ask patrons to be patient as they are understaffed and that some menu items due to supply issues may not be available,etc....I should have read this sign as a warning and left but instead gave them $100. I would recommend you spend your $100 somewhere else. read more

We we're driving around and found this amazing place. The skin loaded potatoes were perfectly cooked, thick and soft. I WOULD SAY THIS IS A BUYER BEWARE LOCATION IN THE AREA : I first started going here years ago with family when they first opened and things were good. Good service, wait time was satisfactory, food was acceptable. But things have went WAY DOWN since. The most recent time I went here our waitress was non-existent. We ordered drinks, they came, were never refilled, and ordered food, then being ignored the rest of the trip. Food: ordered some tenders and fries and honestly they were old, poorly prepared and the fries were d too. It was like they had been sitting for hours and once I ordered them they were shoved under a heat lamp to warm up. Was very disappointed. Others in my party got barbecue and remarked that the food was awful- things tasted like something you get at a concession stand at an event- not at a sit down restaurant. For not having good service and food being less than satisfactory, I'm not sure what needs to happen for things to change. I would try it again in the future if there was new management or a guarantee. read more

Not sure where the poster below came up with "great beer variety". Maybe if Blue moon and Yeungling are your idea of microbrews. I was soreley disappointed in their beer selection. Ribs were very good consistency, but couldn't really taste the meat over the bbq sauce. Not bad at all, but wish i had ordered the bbq on the side, to actually taste the ribs. The baked beans were not to my taste at all, had very little taste actually. The cole slaw was standard fare, heavily mayonased, about what you buy at the grocery prepackaged. Wait staff was top notch, so 4 stars for service, but that alone would not warrant a return trip. read more

Ordered cup of cream of crab soup. Bland. Salty. No flavor. Ordered senior grilled chicken with tossed salad and baked potato. Chicken was over cooked, no flavor, tasted of old grease. Baked potatoes was cooked ok... Simple... Butter and sour cream helped. Lettuce in tossed salad was a but limp, but otherwise ok. Salad dressing was ok... Honey mustard and bacon. Busy but not what one would expect for a Saturday night... Many empty seats. Mainly locals. Waitress and hostesses were peasant and nice. However, other than asking if everything was OK when she brought my dinner, the waitress never came back to check if I needed anything or to refill my water. this check-in included a 10% off the bill, however it took two trips to the manager to honor that 10%. Interesting. Will never return. read more

Food is really good but the girl working to take you to your table and to check you out has a attitude and needs to be fired.
