I have to start this review by saying that the owner of this company threatened to take legal action against me if I left a negative review of his company. I sat down with the owner and showed him the elements I wanted to copy from his own portfolio. He assured me it would be no problem, and we agreed on a price. Not only did I not get the design we agreed upon, they never removed forms from the separate concrete areas(some forms cemented in place)or cleaned up or hauled away their trash. They even left a used saw blade in my backyard where any child could have picked it up or been hurt by it. After presenting my issues to the owner instead of at the very least offering to complete the cleanup, I received an email threatening legal action against me if I write a negative review. I have a backyard, but it is far from an oasis. It looks more like a dump. The total cost of this project was 24,200. It included a 18 X 36 pool with 1 light, safety cover, salt system, 4 ft of concrete decking around the perimeter, a 20x 20 concrete pad and an extra concrete area for a fire pit with seating. Also add to that the cost of having a company come in and do the clean up and haul away, the cost of an attorney(yes I had to hire an attorney simply to be able to write this review), plus the cost of having the job finished to the original design specs. Only use this company if you like being bullied and threatened with lawsuits. Otherwise, run, don't walk, as far and as fast as you can from this company........repeatedly over-promises and consistently under-delivers. read more

We can not recommend Eric and his team highly enough! From the day Eric came out for our first consultation we knew they were the company we wanted to go with and we knew it would be worth the wait. Every experience we have had with Backyard Oasis - either in the office with the staff or at our house with the team has been positive. Everyone went above and beyond to make sure all our questions were answered and we had everything we needed every step of the way. Unfortunately for all of us, our build took the top spot on Backyard Oasis' toughest jobs list - but you would never know that to see the final result. We had serious unforseen water issues in our yard and we had an incredible amount of rain that continued to set them back anytime we had some decent progress. But Eric and his team refused to quit. His 25 years of knowledge and experience literally made the difference between us having a pool and having a giant hole in our yard. They are a joy to work with and were always willing to take time to answer all of our questions. Eric holds his team to a very high standard and they delivered. We knew from our first interaction with him that Eric was someone we could trust and that meant SO much to us as we navigated setback after setback. Back on March 22, 2021, I contacted Backyard Oasis looking to talk with someone about replacing my pool liner and converting everything over from chlorine to salt. I had read so many great reviews about this company so when the receptionist didn't seem to want to help me, I wrote a less than favorable review. The owner read my review and proceeded to call me to find out what had transpired. We had a very nice conversation. He apologized and explained that he had just hired that receptionist and had wished I had contacted him to give him the opportunity to correct things before posting online. I told him I would post another review and even admitted that I, perhaps, didn't handle things properly. Because he was backed up and couldn't accommodate me this year, I dealt with another pool company. In comparing prices for covers, I decided to contact his company to compare prices. Only then did I find out that the review I wrote complaining was the only one still showing up and not the one I wrote explaining we had worked things out. I feel bad that I did not give this owner, Eric, the opportunity to make things right before posting a bad review. It's almost Spring and I'm finally looking forward to it! As much as I hate cold weather, I initially chose a crook of a human being to install my pool in Feb 2013. What was quoted to me as a '9 day project from start to finish' was a nightmare of events until I finally fired the guy and lucked up finding Eric Nalley at Backyard Oasis Pools and Construction. For all of the fabulous things I have to say about Eric and his crew, you'd think he paid me for the review. These guys kept me from filling in a very expensive hole in my backyard with dirt and simply calling it quits. They restored hope when mine was lost and brought the fun back to having a pool that was lost on the first guy. Eric is knowledgable, capable, creative, dedicated to a fault, personable and will do EXACTLY WHAT HE SAYS WHEN HE SAYS HE'LL DO IT. *** This is the most important sentence of this review. *** There's a difference between an Installer and a Contractor. I learned this the hard way. Backyard Oasis' crew repaired and replaced the inferior, broken, mismatched lights, filters, pumps, heaters, liner and every nut and bolt that it took to make my pool and spa what it should've been to begin with. I was very nervous taking on the project of replacing my old above ground pool and deck with an in ground pool. I did extensive research before deciding to hire Backyard Oasis. I made the right decision!! Eric is one of a very few business owners who take pride in their work, who loves what he does and he always makes sure 'the customer is right'. He has an awesome crew that listens to your suggestions and work hard to get the job done. Nate and I seemed to click because he's a little OCD just like me! My backyard is indeed an Oasis now! A+ service from the beginning!! I chose Eric's company over another because Eric told me he would be on site from start to finish--vs. another company that was just going to sub-contract all the work. It is obvious that Eric cares about his reputation as a business owner because his name is physically attached to the work. Eric kept in close contact with me throughout the entire process--not just before I signed the contract--until now, almost a year later! The estimated start date and actual start date were very close. Eric responds to emails and text very quickly. Anytime I have a question or concern--I never doubt that he will get back in contact with me! I'm sure he is asked the same questions 100 times a day from potential customers and customers like me, but he answers patiently like it is the first time he has heard the question. Eric Nalley at Backyard Oasis Pools and Construction runs a great business. I contacted four other pool builders and received two quotes and were waiting on a couple others. Those two contractors never even bothered to call me back. I gave Eric a call and I'm so glad I did. His quote beat out all the others and I'm confident he was the best man for the job. We weren't completely sure what we wanted and Eric was helpful in sharing his ideas with us. His crew is friendly and fun to work with. The job was supposed to take a week to ten days but ended up being a little over two months through no fault of his company. The weather worked against us and evidently we have crappy dirt. After the weather cleared and we brought in a few loads of dirt all is done! I am extremely pleased with the work they did and I know I can trust Eric's word that he will be here to handle any problems we have in the future. We started talking to Eric and his team at Backyard Oasis and Pools in March of 2020 about building a pool. They were the third company we met with and both my wife and I immediately felt comfortable and decided to sign a contract. Eric was upfront with how many pools were in front of ours and how long we would have to wait. Fast forward to March of 2021 and our pool is almost finished and we couldn't be HAPPIER with the whole experience. He is on site EVERY day and doesn't outsource his work. Working from home, I have been able to follow the process from the very beginning and to see where we started to where we are now is amazing!
