Something's changed. Backyard Brewery was our go to restaurant for burgers, wings, and ribs. The last time we went which was last fall/early winter we found they no longer serve a regular burger but serve a smash burger instead. I asked the server why the change and she said the cooks were getting too many burgers back because they weren't cooked properly. We went last night and had a wing appetizer. The wings were very fatty. I couldn't bring myself to eat all of the wings and chose to take them home. I ultimately decided to throw them away. I ordered a full rack of ribs, I usually take what I don't eat home for a second meal. The ribs came out cut up in a bowl, not as a rack. When I got home I found myself with an upset stomach and couldn't get off the toilet. In the garbage they went. So, we ended up spending just north of $100 and ended up throwing most of our dinner away. This place used to be a staple for us when we wanted to grab a burger and a beer and sometimes a rack of ribs. It saddens me to say we won't be back again, unless it's to have just some nacho's and a beer. It's time for us to find a new go to place. read more

We were away on a business trip and this restaurant was next door to our hotel. The place was enormous, with three giant bars and plenty of dining seating. Our waitress Dorsey was superb. Patient and explained the different beers and made some great suggestions. The food and the beer prices were much lower than they could have been. Wife had the Burger with Benefits, a burger you pretty much built on your own and I had the It's Chicky, a full size grilled chicken breast with homemade potato chips. Ya girl went to a brewery just to grab dinner so unfortunately I cannot tell you if the beer was good or not. I was looking for a restaurant that does outdoor dining (due to COVID) for my last hurrah before moving from Manchester, NH and I drove past Backyard Brewery, saw the pretty outdoor lights and sea of outdoor tables, and thought "this place is a winner." We felt pretty safe eating here seeing as the tables were spaced at least 6 feet apart and all the workers were wearing masks and disinfecting/wiping down all the tables. "Frickles!" I love fried pickles and always feel inclined to order them. Backyard Brewery's version is alright. The chipotle aioli dipping sauce is good but I recommend asking for ranch to have a variety. The "BBQ Half Chicken" was not too bad. The chicken was tender and moist. You can definitely tell it had been soaking in beer which added an interesting flavor. The fries were meh. I really liked their "The Prime" pizza! The flatbread pizza was well baked and I liked the flavor from their seasoning. There was plenty of shaved prime rib too on top of delicious white sauce. The pizza had all the right elements and it was well balanced. The truffle oil wasn't overbearing and the arugula added a nice freshness. I would order it again. read more

It's rare that I give all 5 stars but in this case, I would be remiss giving anything less! We had the chicken sandwich, wedge salad and bacon Mac and cheese. Couldn't finish it all! The quality of the food made from scratch was on point! The flavors of each item was rich enough to be enjoyed but not overpowering to detract from another bite. Portions are good and we should've kept it simple but sooo worth it! I am uncomfortable full and I try not to get this way but I couldn't help taking just one more bite! We wanted to try some of their beers but last nights adventures didn't allow the tummy to allow such notions. Maybe later. This place is busy and appears to ne a staple to the area. We were looking for a place to grab a quick drink before meeting a plane. We were so happy to come here. There was no wait and we were not hurried at all since we really weren't ordering much. We did order the Brussels sprouts apps and it was delish. What impressed me the most and what will make me come back is the caring service we received when we were leaving. My friend had a cane and it broke on the way out. The concern they took was nothing I had seen before. They offered a chair for her to sit while they did a repair to the cane. What a great place! We were visiting the area, looking for a place to dine and saw Backyard Brewery was nearby, so we gave it a shot. (I checked out the photos on Yelp ahead of time). So happy we did. I've been to many a brewery where food is an afterthought and the place is like a high ceiling warehouse. No so at Backyard Brewery. Ordered the heifer sandwich was described as having a heaping portion of meat, but came with maybe two slices of meat and tons of arugula and picked onion. Could barely taste the "sauce" and just honestly tasted the veggies. Also ordered the topping cow. Nothing was seasoned, not even with salt and pepper. Enjoyed this place so much, we went back there two weeks in a row! It was December, so due to the weather we were seated inside. FOOD For our first visit, we ordered the chicken fingers, sweet potato fries, burger, and smores mudpie. For the second visit, we had same chicken fingers, also the wedge salad, Brussel sprouts, and 'chunky brewster' brownie sundae. All items were truly delicious, excellent food quality, and good portion sizes. The only disappointment was the chunky brewster brownie sundae- there were so much strawberries/strawberry sauce on it, that it altered the whole dessert where you couldn't even taste the brownie or chocolate fudge which is the whole point of this dessert! So if you do order it, tell them to hold the strawberry sauce. ATMOSPHERE It is a nice place, pretty large, with a casual atmosphere. There is a long bar with big screen tvs and plenty of seating that is a mix of booths and tables. We were there at off times of the day and it still had a good crowd- but it was Christmas week. There was a mix of families, couples, work colleagues, etc. Some of the booths in the room that is not the bar have the glass windows were you can see the tanks of beer fermenting. Wow what an amazing place !!! For starters, nice open parking lot , and exterior is welcoming with a cute deck with lights and fire pits. Interior, cozy modern atmosphere and once you get to the dining area, it opens up with plenty of tables and booths. I had the Fruitcart stickup guava and cherry sour beer , SO GOOD , and I'm not much of a beer drinker! The fried pickles and Buffalo dip were the best we've had. But wow their pickle pizza special was worth every bite. Packed with flavor , I never thought pickles on pizza would taste so good. Believe it or not I had room for a notorious PIG taco and some sriracha fries. The tacos were stuffed with pork carnitas and just the right amount of cabbage and spicy sauces , the fries were a perfect match. The bartender Kate absolutely rocked! She made me feel like an old friend/regular customer in a matter of minutes. She cared and made me feel like I belonged. We ended up having a wonderful chat where I discovered that she also does the art and signage seen around the restuarant! Impressive. These four appetizers + the beer ended up being filling enough that we didn't have room for entrées. I ordered Snow Squall and it was excellent. Stopped in for drinks and food on our trip back to Vermont, and glad we did! Lovely outdoor patio space with enough tables and chairs to supply a WWE pay-per-view. The hostesses were all smiles and quick to bring us to our seat. Busy, but no wait! The inside of this place is EXACTLY what you'd hope for: a taproom straight out of an HGTV show. The Property Brothers themselves couldn't have matched the barn-wood and metal rustic charm of this spot. My first sip of the milk stout was silky, smooth, and loaded with coffee flavor; VERY drinkable at 5.3% ABV and a fraction of the price of anything at your local Starbucks (I'd have to have a BAC of at least .08 to navigate a Starbucks, for the record). The sweet flavor of the lemonade-inspired sour "Lemon Law" overtook the bitter taste left in my mouth from driving four hours to a canceled Counting Crows concert. Lightly carbonated and bright in color. Would recommend. Belgian Ale. Just yes. Sugary; malty; perfect color. The food was UNBELIEVABLE. Cheese Pretzel Tots... soft pretzel bites with mustard, beer cheese, chives, and so. much. bacon. Do it. I decked my "Burger With Benefits" out with cheddar, onion strings, Worcestershire mushrooms, and bacon. It should honestly be illegal to sell a burger without bacon if bacon is available. Serious demerit, but I corrected it folks. The meat was perfectly cooked AND with all the fixin's (plus spicy fries) still clocked in under $15. Make this stop a priority! read more
