One of their best brews is named "Safe Space". It just went from great to awesome in a second We came here after checking out two other brew houses that ended up being closed on. Tuesday. So we drove another 30 miles to get to this place. Well worth it. Built on the footprint of an old industrial building, the brewhouse has a great layout, easy to find tables outside tables. We sat outside and enjoyed a marvelous day of late spring. The flatbread pizzas are delicious. We ordered a bacon and pesto and a little honey concoction and we just gobbled two of them. Washed it down with the Safe Space and the Concord Brew IPA. Memorable day at this place. Will return.

Here, that means potato chips with cheese, bacon, fresh jalapeños & sour cream/salsa on the side. Not a spectacular dish. I'd go so far as to call it bad. I'll note that 2 people did seem to enjoy it or they were really hungry. Friendly Staff and the double Safr Space IPA was solid (4.5), squirrel fights nut brown was ok (3), both the festbier & the blueberry wheat meh (2.5ish) I feel like going IPA & pizza here would make for the most optimal visit - choose wisely

Because they're so good. I tried their Misguided Angel - One of the smoothest IPAs I've ever had, and the "In Your Head" stout, smooth and tasty. Middle of the road good old fashion pizza. No complaints . They also have lots of gourmet pizzas also . I'm not a big IPA fan, and most of there beers are IPA's , double IPA's . I got a sour . It was good . There is a bakery attached so we got two pastries to go , and also attached is a full service restaurant ( Johnson's ) we stopped in there for desert, my GF got the kids ice cream which is huge ! And I saw Tuesday $1.00 oysters so I had to get 6 . Also very good . Even though it's not part of Northwoods . They sell all there beers . I'm pretty sure it's one big business. Driving in I asked my husband I asked what Kettlehead is known for an he said: Beer. Yet somehow, I can't love Kettlehead. A few things occured that damaged the experience: 1. The waitress spilled a sampler all over my wristlet and cell phone. She was oblivious but she has been spilling it the whole walk to the table! She seamed put out i asked of they had bleach wipes as we were in from out of town and i didnt want mty cell phone smelling like beer all weekend. 2. The waitress stated the coin change machine is wonky and they don't own it. The coin machine worked fine but it was the first game we played, Tokyo Drift, that ate our money. I reported it and seamed like the guy didn't care. He didn't offer me a $1 to make up for it nor did he shut down the machine after my report. I feel like if you have it in your place, you should stand behind it. An issue, it should become yours. 3. The pretzels are terrible. They are like sliced and fried with no flavor. They looked like little hot dogs. We go to a ton of breweries and this is the worst pretzel experience we have ever had. Also, the waitress told us the mustard was the beer cheese and vice versa. My kid was not to happy when she ate mustard! But also, the worst beer cheese we have encountered as well. Her excuse, she has been up since 4am. Well, my husband wasn't wrong. He raved over their beer. Nobody was impressed with their food.

The beers were good. They pack a lot of flavor in! IPAs were good. Pickle beer was very heavy on the pickle brine flavor. Our service was not great. My wife ordered a Caprese Mushroom dish. When it came out, the waitress told my wife "I feel so bad for you, we are out of basil. I don't know how good it will be, let me know. I feel so bad for you." If she knew one of the four main ingredients was missing, it could have been mentioned before making the dish so as to confirm that we still wanted that option. The dish was otherwise watery and not great. When the server came to take our plates, she should have also clocked that the meal was hardly touched. If you have to say "I feel bad for you" as you serve a customer their food, that's not a great sign. I ordered a steak and cheese which was very good. I ordered onion rings as a side. The server said "that'll be more expensive" as she walked away, despite the menu saying the meal came with the choice of one side. It didn't matter anyways, as my sandwich came with French fries instead of the onion rings I ordered. The French fries were very good, but not what I ordered. I ordered a flight of 6 tasters, and one came out empty. I was told "I don't have that one right now" by the server before she walked away, but not before she spilled the other beers as she put them down. I had to wait for her to come back and ask whether she was waiting for the empty beer to be tapped or if I was supposed to pick a new one, as it was unclear and she hadn't asked what I'd liked instead. Seems like a great venue and atmosphere is probably a lot of fun on a weekend or at night. We weren't expecting anything over the top at a brewery on a Monday for lunch. Beers were decent, and standard pub fare was good. Overall, we would not return based on the service.
