The only restaurant where I get Delicious Smoked Chicken Wings. I don't know any other place that has this. It's a unique flavor and taste, it has a HUGE selection of beers as well, is like 4 pages on the beer menu..lolol a lifetime to taste them all..jaja! There is a backyard section for drinking eating, my favorite. Customer service is excellent. All the food items I tasted were great, too many to list one by one. Best eating experience. Oh yeah, and a wide variety of sauces and dips. Try them all, like I did. Jaja! This restaurant is located in front of the main parks, the center of Scranton. It is an absolute must do.

Went during the games on Sunday and there was still plenty of seating both inside and outside. We sat at the bar as there were no low tops available and brought our dog with us, Marshmallow with us as its dog friendly outside. We had a really great time. Crowd was lively, bartenders were called by name so it goes to show tons of regulars. Service was great and food was amazing as well. We ordered the Tito's chicken parm sandwich, Buffalo chicken dip and brisket sammi. All were flavorful and filling.

We came back again because we gave the food a 4.5 last year. We sat at the bar last night and had very good service. Our bartender was friendly, attentive and checked in on us frequently. My husband ordered the Banjo pig, their version of a Cuban sandwich. He absolutely loved it and said it was the best he has ever had. I ordered the vegetarian tacos which were a letdown. The tacos came out room temperature and there didn't seem to be much to the taco besides the beyond crumbles. I ordered a side salad which was very good but it was served in a banana split bowl. It was hard to eat so we decided to spread it out on our empty plate and it was tasty. My husband is still dreaming of his sandwich therefore a negotiation will most likely be occurring for our next visit here.

Came here on the Friday of Cardboard Classic and really enjoyed the entire evening. It was a great atmosphere: we sat in the front room with the bar but you could tell it was busy in the back. The alcohol list is extensive. We were served relatively fast: very clear the wait staff just grabs whatever table and helps where they can. My husband got the smoked wings, I got the steak tacos. Tacos were absolutely delicious and the shell being crispy was a really unique touch. The wings were good but the clear winner here is the sauce: it's like a cross between a spicy ketchup and a barbecue sauce, but lighter? Very delicious!

I enjoy going to the BYA when I'm in Scranton. Nice selection of micros on tap. I prefer eating in the backyard, but a little tough to do in the winter. The bar area is a classic pub with dark wood, plenty of room at the bar with lots of table seating. Parking is on street. Service was good. I had 2 awesome IPAs and the BBQ sampler with a side of mac n cheese. I love their Mac. One of my favorites. My BBQ Sampler choice was pork, ribs and brisket. It was a huge portion. I wasn't overly excited with either the brisket or the ribs. In my opinion there was way too much much dry rub. Pork was awesome and so was the cornbread.

Great place. Served in less than 10 min. The wings were awesome. My son and his fiancé ate here in January and had remarked how great the wings were. We happened to stop by today. Then sent them a photo and said " is the place?" Yup it was this place and they were right!

Tons of events and trivia in their schedule for folks looking for a night out on weekdays or weekends. The interior is mildly psychedelic with music. The food was fine. We got the burger and nachos. I was between giving 3 and 4 stars. Service was slow but the venue was busy, there was an event, and the night crew was picking up when we were there. The buffalo chicken nachos were fine. We appreciated the crispiness of the tortilla chips and the excellent cheese sauce that was well-distributed on the chips. There was tomato among other veggies that I do not remember. The chicken was fine for me on a cut. However, it had the texture of boiled chicken which I wasn't a huge fan of. Still had to get my protein in. I really enjoyed the burger. The bun was a soft potato roll. The patty was a little cooler. Between a cold burger and soggy nachos I certainly would choose the cool burger. This was made up for with the large volume of burger that was deliciously crispy. The pickles accompanied the burger with a secret mayo-based burger sauce. If warm, it could be a 5/5 burger. Overall, the experience was fine. I would go here on a week day rather than 6 on Friday, though.

I would say that this is probably the best deep dish pizza that I've tried in a while and I used to live in the Midwest. The crust was super crunchy and very buttery, which is great. You could definitely taste a jar of the cheese on the side and the crispiness of the bottom of the crust not only that, but I felt like the toppings were just amount of flavor. There was onions on there. There was corn on there. It just felt very very hearty. it's definitely heavy dish but it hits a spot if you're looking for a deep dish pizza they did it very well. I would definitely come back for this steep dish pizza and honestly, I could only get through two slices on my own definitely enough for two people to eat comfortably and not that expensive too was 13 bucks

We got the Korean dumplings which were very good with Asian zing sauce on them. We also got their nachos which were soggy towards the bottom but had good flavor with bbq sauce and pulled pork. The breading was also soggy but the fish was very tender and nice. The chicken cheesesteaks were good, filling and yummy. The Ale Burger is a double smash burger with good flavor, and a good meal. The Buffalo Mac and cheese was spicy but enjoyable. The service wasssss slow and not very attentive. The manager had to come over and ask if we needed anything bc our server seemed to disappear. The service was slow, but once we were greeted our drinks and food came out quickly. The inside is spacious, it's in an old building dating back to the mid to late 1800's. The high ceilings and metal work inside gives an old industrial feel. The menu had a lot of tasty choices and the beer menu was fantastic. The list of the handhelds/sandwiches is too long to list, but I could have ordered any of them. They have over 100 small and large craft/international beers in bottles or cans and around 20 taps. I had a couple cans of delicious Russian River/WeldWerks collab Convivial which is a hazy imperial IPA. My wife really enjoyed their Buffalo Chicken Flatbread 13.95 - popcorn chicken, house wing sauce, cooper cheese, blue cheese, scallions. It was more than a serving, sizable and fresh. The flavors were balanced and outstanding. I had the Bison Cheesesteak 16.95 - Chipotle bison, pepperjack, bacon chutney, mushrooms, chipotle aioli, toasted hoagie roll. The flavors were balanced, roll was fresh, the serving was large and it was pretty darn good. The meat had a hot dog/pork pate taste. My 5 year old son ordered grilled chicken street tacos 13.95 - Pico de gallo, jalapeno sour cream, queso. Choice of grilled chicken or beef. It came with three and he ate half. We all had a bite and agreed they were fresh, easy to handle and had a delicious mix of flavors, especially the chicken and cheese. My other son had the House Grilled Cheese 9.95 - Boursin, pepperjack, & cooper cheeses on grilled brioche. He enjoyed it, but said it was a little spicy. Although they lacked a "kids menu" my guys found something they enjoyed. The inside was family friendly and they were treated well by the staff. We thought Ale Mary's was a great gastropub and will absolutely repeat when we are back in Scranton. Thanks guys!

We visit Jim Thorpe annually and were excited to try this place given its vegan options. When we entered the restaurant, the set-up was a little confusing. They did seat us pretty quickly though, and the service was probably the only positive to this experience. My husband and I both ordered cocktails; he had the Manhattan while I had a special vodka drink they were offering that day. Our drinks were overall fine but not anything special. My husband's Manhattan was very basic tasting. The menu and the food were the worst parts. The menu is unnecessarily long and phony sounding, like they are trying to be quirky but just come across as fake and condescending. There's extra, unnecessary description of the food that makes the menu difficult and frankly annoying to review. We ordered the bread teaser as well as the hummus. The pesto and the hummus were basic store level quality. The bread was definitely undercooked. For our entrees, we ordered the Cleopatra salad and a pasta dish. The salad tasted fine enough but it was basically just romaine lettuce with a very light dusting of nutritional yeast, vegan cheese, and a very low amount of chickpeas/protein. The pasta was an absolute travesty. It was extremely oily, flavorless, and bland. To top it all off, the food is extremely expensive! They have absolutely no business charging that much. The interior of the place is also a waste of space. It doesn't make any sense that it calls itself a pub. There's also stupid decor everywhere, including a sign that says "no" leading out to an employee-only location. I guess that's supposed to be funny but just comes across as condescending. It's a shame that this place has such a good location with Jim Thorpe and apparently can make a pretty penny serving subpar food and weird vibes. Don't waste your money.
