Place wasn't busy in a Saturday. Ordered food I ordered chicken fried steak wife ordered pizza. About 10mins later I was severed my plate. I waited a solid 5-10 mins for wife's food and had no choice to start eating as it was getting cold. I finished my meal and still no pizza. Was told 3 more mins and about a solid 10-15 mins later her pizza came out. Really need to work on timing of food I guess... wife had to watch me eat mine and now as I'm typing I'm waiting on her to enjoy her food... Beer was ice cold. Chicken fried steak was amazing and Pizza pretty darn good the ranch is good!! saved it from a 1 star review. Waitress was good nothing she could do it was all on kitchen poor timing... Price wasn't terrible but nowadays you can't leave most sit down places with out spending over $60 or so.. For maybe 4 tables full and a couple at the bar. Sad to say this place won't last much longer.. it's good food but over the hour we've waited/ate it was just to dead to survive.. if it was in Stephenville I'd bet it would be packed and doing well!! We ate here today. We had the Southwest Cobb and the two patty burger no bun. We have been on Keto for several months so finding low carb options can be challenging. The young female server initially told us the cooks don't like substitutions or changes. Which I told her was not something we hear ever or from a new business. She returned saying they would substitute the fries for asparagus which was all we asked. I was taken back by this but maybe it's inexperience. The salad and burger were tasty. My husband had a ice tea and me a vodka soda. The total was $43 dollars. The inside is large and can accommodate big parties. It's a good option in the area. read more

Nice place. Military discount. The ribeye was great, but expensive. The jalapeno cream corn was a hit. The fries were good. The chicken fried steak was good. The pizza crust was neither thin and crispy nor a proper Brooklyn, kinda hard and chewy with no flavor, the toppings were probably ok but overshadowed by the blah crust. Our server was attentive but not intrusive, she said this was their last day until New Years and they were going to remodel but didn't know what they were going to be?? Maybe a bar with "some" food but no real idea?? read more

Oh my gosh .. this is the place to go!! Every single item looks incredible. So far I've had the Braggwood, all I can say is Bam.. can't go wrong perfect combination of sliced turkey, brisket and prime rib with their special DBW BBQ sauce (made with Dr Pepper). We visited Backwoods Family Dining on 10/15/2022. We had no issues. We were seated immediately, and our server was promptly with us to provide menus and take drink orders. Our meals came quickly. The food was excellent. My husband felt the portions were a bit small. They have some reasonably priced items on the menu, but there are some costly ones as well. Husband had the chicken Oscar and he was disappointed that the chicken was a little tough and dry on the ends (but he still gave it an 'A'). I had the chicken fried steak (OH MY!). Both meals came with a small salad, not just iceberg, and two sides. My mashed potatoes were cold, but they had put the chicken fry on top and that part was warm. The jalapeño cream corn was magnificent. We had the seafood spinach and artichoke dip as an appetizer and that will really impress you. We took home pumpkin cheesecake of the month. Very good experience and we will certainly go back. (Husband was impressed with the game room.) read more

Well this is hard to write. The first time my daughter and I went to this restaurant I couldn't believe how good it was. The food was AMAZING! The service was great and fast. I raved and raved about it. So we went last weekend and tried it again with my family. We were there for over two hours. The service was mediocre at best. For one in our party they completely forgot to bring his food. When finally the server brought his food and he took it off the bill. The food wasn't near as good either. The chicken breast was tiny. The chicken fried steak was just a battered NY strip. Not tenderized at all. Two of the party shared a hamburger and ended up with diarrhea that night. All in all, had that been my first trip I wouldn't be back. I know they can do better so maybe we will try again one day. Let's see how long they last. read more

Just maybe the worst food I've had in my entire life. I ordered the 8iron steak which almost made me sick. It came with some kind of sauce on it that tasted fishy. Could not eat it. One group setting next to my wife and I simply got up and left after they were served. Have talked to a number of friends since then with similar experience. Will not go back. read more
