I came in looking for that last minute accessory for my costume a mere 4 days before Halloween…read morethinking I would find a mad house, a ton of people, inventory that is picked over and not the item I wanted. I am amazed. Yes, they were packed, but it was easy to maneuver the wide aisles of fully stocked inventory, plenty of employees were restocking, and A LOT of cashiers ready to check out. I have no idea what the clerk was trying to tell me as I was checking out because of the noise, but oh well. No one asked if I needed anything, but as they were slammed with customers, and the layout of the merchandise was perfectly setup, it was all good! I found what I needed quickly. Located where the K-Mart used to be in the Elmwood Shopping Center, there is plenty of parking. Coming in, the sections were separated for various items, and the stock was in a setup that made sense to be able to get everything for your costume or house decorating all in one spot on the shelving system. Amazing. I'm not sure if they plan on coming back to this location next year, but I am now a convert to the Spirit Halloween and make it my destination for reasonably priced, last minute capes for every Halloween to come.

The store was very large and well stocked. There were everything from kid's costumes to adult only varieties. The prices seemed kind of high. I saw identical costumes online for less, but I understand the cost of a storefront is greater than an online only business. Besides not having to pay for shipping, having the costume in front of you means you can try it on. That alone was a big plus compared to online. One problem I encountered was that I needed to look at the costumes near the adults only section and I had my kid. I had to move quickly through the area so that I didn't have to explain why the convict costume said "Department of Erections". The area was labeled, but I couldn't leave my kid in a different part of the store. If shopping with kids I suggest you shop for them and then come back to finish your own shopping. I am glad that we have a store like this. Hopefully it will re-purpose itself as a holiday store like those in the city.
