Simple menu but the food here is actually pretty good! The sweet potato fries are very crispy! Really liked the cocktail I had here too!

First visit. Backlot has locations at Bayshore Town Center and Elkhorn, NE and owned by the ACX Entertainment company that took over the former IPiC Entertainment Center movie theater, bowling lanes, and restaurants. I sat at the bar and received great service from Vee, who had a busy bar to take care of on her own. I arrived during Happy Hour, which is 3:00-6:00 during the week and 1:00-6:00 on Sundays. I ordered the Detroit Classic pizza which is "double pepperoni" and the Calamari, both $9 each during Happy Hour. Tbe Calamari came with three dipping sauces, Marinara, garlic aioli, and some kind of ranch. The flavors of the marinara and garlic aioli were decent but the textures were off. The marinara was too thick, and tasted just like the pizza sauce, so I'm pretty sure they are one and the same. The garlic aioli was a bit clumpy. The herbs in the seasoning on the calamari was really good, but the breading was too thick for my liking. The calamari itself was fine. The Detroit Classic didn't have the amount of pepperoni I expected for having "double pepperoni" in the description but for a $9 Happy Hour price, I'll give them a pass. The pizza sauce was thick and had a good, slightly spicy flavor, and the pizza tasted good overall, but it did not meet the characteristics of a Detroit Style pizza. The cheese didn't spread to the edge and caramelize, the pizza crust was too dense and fluffy, similar to Rocky Rococo, and did not have the buttery and crisp texture underneath that is common with Detroit style pizza. So, the flavors hir but textures did not, and texture on Detroit style pizza and calamari matter to me. So you should check it out to see if the food works for you, but I learned what I needed to learn on this visit, so I won't have to go back.

    BPK Salad

It's a bit pricey, but in a pretty, open space with an intimate feel. Conveniently attached to the bowling alley and right next door to Buchanan's. Family friendly. My husband ordered the Bourbon BBQ hamburger, minus the BBQ sauce, and I ordered the BPK Salad with the dressing on the side. While the kitchen initially made the burger with the sauce, our server caught it in time, and they made another one without. It was very good, with the double burgers being nicely seared on the outside and juicy on the inside. The fries were hot, crispy, and perfectly salty. My salad, on the other hand, was a disaster. Firstly, it didn't have the advertised feta cheese or black olives, and I looked. What I did find was salad dressing and diced veggies at the bottom of the bowl. So what it looked like they did, was make my salad minus the feta and olives, put on the dressing, realize they messed up, took off as much dressed lettuce as they could, flipped the salad over into a new bowl, then threw on extra lettuce. After asking for feta cheese and getting a very small amount, I tried to make the best of it but couldn't do it. I told our server I couldn't eat it, and she took it back. While she was apologetic and told me she'd discount the salad, I laughed after checking the bill and seeing the discount on my $15 salad was only $3. I'd be willing to go back and try something else, but it wouldn't be my first choice.

Very cute environment, conveniently connected to ACX bowling and movies. Bar seating and booth and table seating. Went with friends and it was a great girls night. We went on a Friday and they were not busy at all we were seated very quickly. Joanne our server was super friendly and so nice! One of the best waitresses we've ever had! They had a nice cocktail menu and even had dessert cocktails. My friend loved their espresso martini. I had the "Tijuana Brass", strong taste and smell. The pizza was good I loved how buttery and thick the crust was while not being too crunchy! I personally was not a big fan of the smoked bacon Mac n cheese. It was very creamy and there were lots of bacon pieces but the overall flavor just wasn't there, it was bland. Overall we enjoyed our time there and the price is reasonable (some items could be lowered) for the ambiance, service, and quality.

    Fire cracker dip

Was told to seat ourself when we wandered in. Our waitress was not very friendly, but opened up as we continued to try and have conversation. Needs attention to detail for cleaning. Just seemed sticky, and the windows had food and handprints smeared all over. The firecracker dip is literally pizza sauce with red peppers and goat cheese, it didn't even come with the sourdough that was described on the menu, surprise we received pita bread. Wine was overpriced for a small pour. Pizza was good, but didn't stand out compared to the rest of the experience.

Every time you go you find new employees who are fired for no reason, they are more attentive to bad reviews than to the comfort of their employees, but the food is very good

Good Detroit style pizza. Great value and no crowds. Nice quick stop if you're at Target or Bayshore.

The service was wonderful and the gentleman attending the phone was kind and knowledgable of the menu. I was looking forward to a flavorful spicy pizza but it was underwhelming. The flavors were not authentic and left me questioning why it's marketed as such. It was a delicious pizza just not desi style in my opinion. I wanted a burst of flavors you expect from south asian cuisine but It just tasted like a regular segular chicken pizza with jalapeños I could have brought from another pizzeria.

Pleasantly surprised with this joint! We went a little wary…read morewith the underwhelming reviews, but it was close, I was hungry, and it was happy hour (3-6). The Happy Hour specials are pretty neat - $2 off drafts (and they have a huge selection), half off appetizers, and $5 well spirits. Oh, and cuz it was a Wednesday, half off all whiskeys! Being 5pm on a Wednesday, the place was pretty empty and the sign up front said bar seating only. Which was empty too, so it was fine. Our server was not all smiles, but a bit more shy-ish, but not curt or rude, just shy-like. She was quite nice and service was prompt and efficient. Interior was on the darker side (it's a bar), but tastefully done and clean. TVs were great and sitting in the bar afforded some awesome views of the soccer game going on at the time. Oh, the place is located inside the Bayshore Mall, on the second floor, next to the movie theater. Park in the Lydell garage, second floor, and you can come right into the building. Cheese curds These were great! Not hands down the best I've had, but very well done, quite tasty and came with a neat honey mustard sauce that felt very different from other honey mustards I've had. Crab and Goat Cheese Balls Five balls of deep fried cheese balls atop honey (says honey orange sauce, but it tasted like good honey), garnished with green onions. Not my cup of tea, but I knew going in cuz I'm not a fan of goat cheese. Hubby wanted to try, but didn't seem really wowed either. Wings Very well done, moist on the inside and crispy on the outside, just like I like it! Didn't try any naked ones and they don't have dry rub, so we just had the tossed in 2 sauces. For 18 wings, we can choose 3, but we just went with 2. They came in rectangular bowls, and were tossed in sauce, and also swimming in sauce (which we could dunk our cheese curds in... yum) Scotch glaze - very honey-ey with a tang of scotch as an aftertaste. On the sweet side. Sweet Garlic Teriyaki - very sweet. Too sweet to taste the garlic. I'll pass on this next time. Next time, try the Buffalo (two guys who came in after us got 18 of them just Buffalo, and they looked good). Perhaps try the bourbon BBQ. Maybe naked with sauce on side? IPA Boulevard Wheat - nah. Pass Terrapin Hopsecutioner IPA - quite hoppy, melikes. Terrapin High and Hazy IPA - Hany Likes. Really good. Overall an awesome happy hour dinner! The wings were so good and at such a great price point being half off that we didn't try the burgers, but we will definitely be back, so we'll try them next time.

Had to wander out for a Monday night dinner when we found out this UK inspired restaurant finally…read moreopened up! Queue my British husband eager to get a taste of home. This is a great location; so happy to see it filled again with a new eatery. It sits inside Bayshore mall on the second floor across from the ACX Cinemas. My first impression was how wonderfully designed the restaurant is! It has a lovely and inviting exterior, and the the decor inside is great. You can tell there was a lot put into meeting the theme - wooden & plaid walls, proper English pub couches, Premier League flags hanging from the ceiling, signs and framed art work that certainly matched the concept. They did a really great job! We were one of the only tables in, as it's brand new and was a Monday night, so not too surprised. The staff seemed to still be in training, but our server was sweet nonetheless. We sat at a low top with a highchair for our son, who also got a kids menu for coloring. Off the bat we ordered him a kids cheeseburger meal, since we knew he'd be hungry asap. This came with a wildly-generous amount of fries and two cheese burger sliders. Our overall thought on the menu is that it's a bit high priced, but either way we were excited to give it a try! I stuck with water and my husband ordered a Stella from their large tap beer selection. He noted that it was hard to drink because it super really flat. As for food, I had a hankering for wings so I opted for the "Six Fired Smoked Wings" from the appetizer/shareable section of the menu. These were delicious, came dressed in a tasty bbq sauce, and had plenty of meat on the bone. Totally hit the spot! My husband went for the Bangers and Mash and was sadly disappointed. Granted he's from Northern England so he has high expectations, but I think the biggest crux was that there was no gravy (despite the menu listing there would be). If you're from the UK, you know having a classic dish like this without gravy is unthinkable ;) All in all, this is a beautiful venue and I hope to see it thriving in the coming weeks. As with any new establishment, they've got some kinks to iron out, so we'll have to plan a return at some point to give it another go.
