Wow. Where do I start. My sprinkler system is over 10 years old and I have 7 zones. Noticed problems with the timer, flooding, and low pressure - planters dying and certain spots in lawn not receiving water. John came out and did a free assessment. Ended up installing a new timer, repairing a bunch of underground breakage points, repairing some wiring, replacing a bunch of broken sprinkler heads, and performing a tune up all around. I would recommend John in a heart beat. Very happy Orange County Sprinkler Service One of the zones in our automatic sprinkler system stopped working. We called OC Sprinkler Service on a Wednesday afternoon and they came out at 8am the next day. They diagnosed the problem for free (a 20+ year old valve had stopped working) and quoted a very reasonable price to replace the valve and surrounding plumbing in a very tight work space sunk into the patio. I woke up to a flooded front yard from a broken sprinkler. I called Orange County Sprinkler Service and said I needed same day service. I didn't expect to find anyone able to do that, but luckily I called these guys. John was over in no time. He was quick to fix the sprinkler and also spotted some other issues which he managed to fix as well. He also gave a tutorial on how to program the sprinkler system. We just moved into our place, and we're clueless. He fixed the programming so the days and timing were watering the plants correctly instead of drowning them or drying them out. First of all let me say that John is very courteous. It was nice that when I meet him, he shook my hand and looked me in the eye. John also showed up 10 minutes earlier than his schedule time to be there so that was refreshing. I told John that that my sprinklers in my front yard were flooding the yard and that I thought that the solenoid might be stuck open at the end of the cycle. I also have a ton of over-spray and asked John what i needed. He first took a look at my control box and told me that this box was "Overly complicated, but simple to understand". He spent 20 minutes reprogramming the box. He told me that the box had preciously been set for the front sprinklers to go for 3 hours! wow! I then asked him what else he thought I needed and he told me i need there tune up and that would be $149.00. I asked him how much for programming the panel and he said that would be $79.99....I thought that was a lot for 20 minute reprogram, however, I decided to do the tune up and John included the re-programming in for free. So I gave him $175 because I wanted to support a young man running his own business. Then came the first night, all 6 stations ran continuous, back to back for 4 hours and flooded everywhere. I turned the water off and called John later in the day. He said he would meet me the next day. The next day out of nowhere he text me and says his partner came to my house, unannounced and without setting appointment and reprogrammed the panel without me there. He also states that this guy has 25 years in the business and everything should be fine.... Next time the sprinklers came on, all the cycles went great until the last station, the front sprinklers again ran for over an hour and flooded the front again! I went ahead and texted John the problem and he wrote..."the diaphragm of the valve must be sticking open (even though he told me prior the box was set to run for 3 hours), we charge $89.00 for that but will take off $20 for the inconvenience"....no thanks I will have to go elsewhere for sprinkler service to get this fixed now. read more

Spent a few hundred ($350-$400) on sprinkler repairs. Saw some pretty significant improvement in a few few areas but really no improvement in the majority. The sprinkler heads that were installed didn't provide the coverage needed or were the wrong type for the need. They consistently over shoot or undershoot. Tightening or listening the sprinkler head just controls the flow but ultimately the solution provided in this instance was inadequate.
