My receipt

There are good restaurants in Hot Springs. This IS NOT one of them Let me get straight to the point. The food sucked!! Now for a breakdown. We ordered an appetizer first - the $12.00 tater tumblers. What we received was 4 Ore-Ida tater tots covered in queso, a spoonful of bacon bits on a nice plate. Yes! 4 tater tots!! $12.00 You could buy a bag and the queso for less than that and have you a plate full of "tater tumblers." My wife ordered Garlic Shrimp, she said it was good. My son, who wasn't hungry, ordered a side he said it was good. I ordered the $36.00, 12 oz, Ribeye. The menu said it was their "most flavorful" steak. Do yourself a favor, go to Waffle House, and get yourself a steak. The quality will be much better. This steak had pockets of fat that sure made it flavorful. It was about 1/4 inch thick and was just a mess. The baked potato was excellent. So now the frustrating part of this meal. My daughter ordered the same steak I did, the most flavorful Ribeye. According to the waitress, the "dumb ass manager" entered in the wrong steak, and what they brought my daughter was a "Bourbon marinated flat steak."" This thing was about the size of a hamburger and the quality of cheap beef jerky. She is very polite and after the waitress had brought it to the table my daughter accepted it and tried to eat it. She said to me, "Dad, this is chewy like rubber." This ranks up in the top 3 of worst experiences I've ever had at a restaurant that wasn't some fast food establishment. Please, do yourself a favor, drive on by.

Blackened Redfish with Twice Baked Potato Casserole. Added the sides 3- Grilled Asparagus, Sauteed Vegetables, and Mac and Cheese

Ernie was our server and he was great. We enjoyed our food and service. The recommendations he provided were spot on. The only thing that could be improved was that the sauce on the redfish was salty.

Very fun for the kid.

Steaks depend on the cut as you may get a very good steak or a very poor one! They don't sepetate poor quality steak.

Every step she took was efficiency, whether that was opening doors for customers, dishing out hot fries, putting a smile on some kids faces with ice cream or bussing tables, operating the register, helping the cooks. I was blown away at this ladies work ethic. What ever she is making, you need to double that. Wow my wife and I are so impressed it's all we could talk about. Next is the food, the menu is simple and it doesn't need to be more than what it is. Burgers, chicken sandwiches and grilled cheese. They stick to what they do best. The burger is served HOT and fresh, all the fries you can eat and wow they are deserving of this 5 stars. Diner vibes, great food and great service. Wish we had these in Houston!! Great value for what you get!

As soon as you walk in, the staff greets you with a big "Welcome to David's!" The last time I went, a staff member even opened the door for us. Maybe that's a sign I go a little too often! The restaurant is usually busy and energetic but even as a fast food restaurant, staff are still assigned tables and I'll ask you throughout your meal if you need any refills or anything else All meals come with fries and a drink, and you can easily get a full meal for under $10, which is hard to beat these days. While you're waiting, they bring out bottomless fries, and the food always comes out quick, hot, and fresh. If you bring young kids, they'll let them make their own ice cream cones for free. The staff makes a whole fun moment out of it, announcing to the restaurant, "We have an ice cream maker!" They also bring around samples of swirl ice cream at the end of the meal, which is the perfect sweet finish. I'll definitely be back... probably later this week.

Our server (I didn't catch…read moreher name) was very polite and attentive without ever being overbearing, which made the evening feel relaxed and enjoyable. The food was delicious as always. My guest and I both ordered the 8oz sirloin--mine cooked medium and hers medium well--and they were both absolute perfection. The salads were cool, crisp, and fresh, a perfect start to the meal. And I have to say, the fried mushrooms were hands down the best I've ever had! Lost Creek Grill continues to deliver excellent food and service, and I'll definitely be back again soon.

It was fairly quiet, so our server was quick and attentive. The overall vibe is country-ish with country music in the background, a smallish dining area, and a bar. You'll be served a warm loaf of bread that is really delicious. There is a dedicated menu as well as chef specials. My husband chose the hickory smoked ribeye with mac and cheese, I opted for the wagyu filet. (What the sign didn't say was it was only 4oz, so keep that in mind if you're feeling hungry!) My husbands meal was cooked to perfection, my filet was more well than medium, but was still juicy and tender. Both had lots of flavor and were delicious. Thankfully I was not super hungry, so if I were to return I may opt for something with more meat for less money. I would def give this place a try. A lovely family owned business, casual dining experience, good food.

Cafe 1217 - A Fresh Break from the Road Trip Diet…read more What a relief to stumble into Cafe 1217 after days of heading southwest on a steady rotation of BBQ, grits, and beans. Delicious, yes... but the body eventually starts asking for a vegetable and a reset. The space itself matches that feeling. Simply decorated, with bright murals, clean lines, and a cheerful, easygoing vibe that feels light the moment you walk in. My husband gave me full ordering authority, which is always a bold move. I went straight into tapas mode because everything on the menu looked too good to choose just one. We ended up with a spread: chicken pot pie (which quickly abandoned any "small plate" intentions), field greens and baby spinach, a shrimp and crawfish cake, and one of each of Rosy's authentic hand-rolled tamales. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and satisfying without that heavy, road-trip food fatigue. The mint lemonade was refreshing and delicious, a little on the sweet side, but it worked. Service, while perfectly fine, could benefit from a warmer welcome and a bit more guidance, especially for first-timers trying to navigate such an inviting menu. A little extra friendliness up front would go a long way here. Our only real regret? Not saving room for dessert. They looked very tempting, and we'll be thinking about that missed opportunity. If you're on the road and craving something lighter without sacrificing flavor, this spot is a welcome pause.

My mom insisted we make the drive to Rocky's Corner Pizza the Sunday night before Memorial Day…read morewhile I'm visiting from back East -- and now I completely understand why people rave about this place. First off, the pizza was absolutely incredible. They call it Chicago-style, but honestly... I lived in Chicago for 14 years, and I can't think of many places there that beat this pizza. We ordered the KO Pizza and it was outrageously good. Perfect crust, loaded with flavor, and the kind of pizza that makes you stop talking for a minute because everyone at the table is too busy eating. The place was packed wall-to-wall, so service took a little while, but it was worth every second of the wait. Honestly, when a restaurant is this busy on a Sunday night before Memorial Day, that usually tells you everything you need to know. Also worth mentioning: I ordered a "small" side salad... which arrived in what appeared to be a family-sized serving bowl. My mom and I ended up splitting it because apparently Rocky's definition of "small" is "feed a softball team." Prices were shockingly reasonable, especially for the quality and portions. This place is a true Hot Springs institution right across from Oaklawn, and if you've never been, you absolutely need to go. It completely lives up to the nostalgia and hype. And a special shoutout to Jamie the bartender -- infectious smile, bobbing her head to the music while pouring drinks, and bringing such a fun, welcoming energy to the whole place. People like that are part of what makes restaurants memorable. Can't wait to come back.
