We kept it in our sites as we descended, and found it to be on the 6th floor of the Avenue Hotel. Its outdoor seating area was lovely. On one side you're just in the tree tops. The other side looks over an underwhelming cityscape, but that's not Rooftop's fault. It's still just nice to be on a rooftop! It started to rain not long after we arrived. We moved under the patio cover, and that was a lovely way to watch and hear the rain until the wind really picked up and we moved inside. It was only around 4pm so we both ordered the mocktail on the menu. It's the only one and pretty simple, but it was quite delicious -- muddled strawberry and 7up. I bet it would be even better with Ginger Beer! Maybe a little high in price for the small size and no booze, but oh well. As the rain continued, we decided to share an appetizer to wait it out. We ordered an olive hummus which was surprisingly decent (I'm not an olive fan normally) with pita chips. I wasn't a huge fan of the pita chips, but they served as a perfectly fine delivery mechanism for said hummus. The staff there was really nice and seemed to get along and share duties well -- in a small place you notice things like that and it made an impression.

The bartenders are always friendly and will talk if time allows. The whole place has a great vibe. Speaking of the okra, I noticed that on my bill I was charged $13 and change for it. I thought WOW, but gladly paid the bill. The more I thought about it, I figgered it must be an error. On our second trip, I mentioned it to the bartender and asked if it were possibly an error. It was an error and she asked me how to make it right (there was a logical explanation for the error). I made it clear that I was not complaining, just wanting clarification. I would have preferred the salad first with the entree held in the back, but I was hungry so I didn't say anything and enjoyed the salad right away. The Caesar salad was simple and the Southern Chicken really hit the spot. It was comfort food at its finest and I found myself wishing I had a bit more. I highly recommend this entree.

This is a distillery that focuses on moonshine but also does some vodka as well. Its a sort of rustic spot that seemed off the main strip so was a bit quieter. My partner and I came for the tasting which was a super deal at $10 a person for around 13 samples of their various drinks. Keally was our server and she was super nice and gave us great background about the various moonshines and drinks. She also provided good suggestions on how to mix them up or pair them with other things. We had a lot of fun and ended up buying some thins to take back with us (which was nice as they have pretty good deals the more you buy).

It's not puréed to oblivion, but is full of chunks of avocado. The food always comes out hot and in a pleasing display. We are impressed with the variety of taco offerings, but have also ordered sandwiches, nachos, chimichangas, and burritos. The portions are always large and we always take home leftovers. Lots of people don't like that they charge for chips and sals, but their location makes it tempting to grab a drink and free apps and then eat dinner somewhere else. They have to pay staff and cover food costs too. My recommendation is the margarita flight-tropical, peach, jalapeño, and watermelon. I'm also a huge fan of the Quesabirrias, but the beef barbacoa and Al pastor street tacos are also great. The Diablos Nachos will make a meal for two. It pleases ages 10-50 every time!
