We went there for dinner and ended up hanging out until 11:30! We sat at the bar because that's where we like to be. The bartender was amazing and so fun. I hate I didn't ask her name. She served us in November when we stopped in for a drink. I had the most amazing BLT! It's named A Damngood BLT and that is no joke. I didn't get the avocado or egg on it and I asked for crispy bacon. I could have made a meal out of just the bacon because there was so much and it tasted like it was seasoned. It's definitely big enough to split between 2 people. The picture doesn't do it justice. My husband had sweet tai chili wings. He couldn't believe how good they were. They have several different flavors but he will stick with that one. Very fun atmosphere. Large dining area and bar with an open dining area. They had a band that consisted of 3 guitar players which was perfect. It wasn't just unbearably loud. They played songs that everyone should know and could sing along with. This is your typical pub. Not a lot of people inside so we were served immediately. There was someone singing inside, which we didn't really want to hear, but they stopped two songs into us getting there. I got a punch, but it was ok, not strong. It was your average pub, a place to grab a drink and sit with friends. I won't come back if we do come back to this town. read more

A fun bar on Main Street in AR, we came after visiting the bath houses for cold drinks. As a group of four, we ordered a few cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks as well as an appetizer. While our waitress seemed disappointed we did not order more drinks, the drinks we did order were tasty. The cocktails range from "Irish Trashcan" which included an energy drink and three types of alcohol to a Lemon Sour, which was a little more simple and very enjoyable. Over 20 beers were on draft, and our group enjoyed a few. The apps were most certainly comfort food with options like fried pickles and artichoke dip. We dropped in with a large party on a Sunday afternoon, and they seated us promptly. Since we'd had a big breakfast, some of us were splitting entrees, some not eating at all. We're not usually *that* group and most restaurants would side-eye us (understandably) but Copper Penny Pub did not. Our waitress was incredibly personable and friendly, and the food was good. The hits for us were the the Rueben, the cheeseburger, and the fries (definitely worth the upcharge over the chips). We didn't wait long and our waitress (I so wish I could remember her name!) kept our drinks refilled. The atmosphere is definitely "pub" but the location was convenient to our historic Hot Springs walk, the AC was kicked up, and they had multiple TVs broadcasting sports. I went to the other , name that shall not be mentioned, they denied me a comfortable atmosphere and "free WiFi " that they claimed to have. I walked a few blocked over and entered a great place that I'll come back to when I am back in Arkansas. Sara reminded me of a past time w her accent and Emily was the best! I didn't eat at Copper Penny Pub, so I can't speak to the food. I just pulled up for a cheeky little drink before appointments. So the beer and the service? Excellent! I got a pint of the Southern Eclipse beer from Bubba Brew's Brewing Company, a local brewery out of Arkansas. The friendly bartender told me that it's a beer that looks like a Guinness but tastes like an IPA. He was right! It was a little weird drinking such a dark-colored, chocolatey-looking beer and having it taste so light. But it was great. When I visited, they served it on tap. Hopefully, they still do when you visit. There were a couple of locals who were posted up at the bar, and because I was full of dark-but-light beer, I chatted them up. And then the bartender jumped in, and it made my visit to Copper Penny very nice. This is a very mellow bar on the outer edge of Bathhouse Row, and it is definitely worth a stop. read more

Walking in was great. Got out of the rain and they accommodated. But the woman with the accent was more interested in telling stories than giving good service. She was so loud, my friends and I had to talk when she wasn't talking. We went back later that night, and enjoyed the music for about 10 min. Food came out fine but waited for drinks too long. The food was amazing and the ambiance was super cool. We had the sampler appetizers, fried pickles, fried, onion rings and mushrooms. I was pleasantly surprised the mushrooms weren't the typical button ones. The batter wasn't heavy and the sauces were house made and delicious. Hubby got the Guinness sliders and they were so good and the bread was nice and fresh. The house chips is what we picked as that side. We also ordered the fish and chips. These were so good! Overall a 10/10! Food was scrumptious with a homey Irish twist. Environment was friendly, had many TVs for sports viewing, and appreciated the music not being too loud. Their bangers & mash wasn't horrible, but one banger was charred on one side and the presentation was horrible (bowl with two scoops of mash, the two bangers on each side and filled with non-descript brown gravy. The waitresses we're as attentive as the could be because the kitchen could not get the food out. I don't know, if because it was the day after Thanksgiving, but the kitchen contained 3 20 somethings who had no idea how to produce orders. It was very obvious that the waitresses were embarrassed by this. If a manager was on duty, this lack of production is his/her fault! When you have waitresses hustling the dining room and waiting at the service window, that is simply unacceptable! If you are training these people, then be there, don't throw them in the deep end and expect them to swim. I felt very sorry for the wait staff as they were there to make tips and the kitchen issue was definitely costing them. After waiting an hour and forty-five minutes for our food, we walked out. I gave this 2 stars because the wait staff did what they could and I am hoping this is a one off situation, not the norm. This was the first bar we hit after driving in from Texas, and holy cow it was worth it! Friday night live music had covers and dang the BEST songs! Bar was full but the staff was very attentive and in great moods. We had so much fun we went back more nights. Prices were great, drinks and shots were awesome. That Jameson sauce was way too sweet. The fried pickles were also amazing. And very filling. This place has potential to be a 5star review. We get there & grab a table. We order two local draft beers. They were not cold. They came in plastic cups. Which seemed weird, but come to find out. They don't have many glasses. That's disappointing. We ordered the fried mushrooms. Which were great. I loved how they sliced them & then breaded & fried them. We ordered the Jameson glazed chicken wings. The chicken wings were cooked perfectly, but the glaze didn't stick to the wings. I think there glaze needed to reduce more to actually be a glaze. We did finish the evening with the irish breakfast shot. It was ok. The Jameson needed to be chilled. The takeaway was the two man band was entertaining & our server was great.
