Maybe I got lucky - I too have had several attorneys, but I haven't noticed how it has negatively impacted my case, since Lauren is my point of contact and she is ALWAYS (I'm not sure how) on top of things and sounds like she was just working on my case. I also know she works late and on weekends, as I've received emails from her updating me regardless of whether I asked. We can't rave enough about Bachus & Schanker. We were in a massive collision the beginning of this year. Until you have been there, you have no idea the amount of physical and mental exhaustion involved. Surgeries and therapy and bills that were sent, trying to take advantage of our situation...it has almost been a year and we couldn't have made it through all of this without Lauren's actions, advice and availability to us. Seriously. If you are injured in an accident, call them. Recently, I incurred the headache of having to take a neighbor to small claims court after their negligence damaged my property. After the defendant lawyered up, I decided to seek counsel myself. I was referred to Mr. Quisenberry by a close friend and consider myself immensely fortunate to have found him. Andrew is extremely thorough, concise, and professional. He communicates well and responded to all of my questions and concerns pretty immediately, day or night.  Regarding the nature of my case, Andrew was very empathetic and passionate towards seeking justice for me. I would give ZERO star if possible. After two months of telling me all recoveries would be fine and medical bills paid for they decided to drop case because police refused to come to accident scene and worker who drove other vehicle denied liability. What employee is going to tell their employer they were at fault?? Find a law firm that cares about YOU. Don't waste time with a bunch of assistants who aren't even legal assistants-they are inept and I had to do all the work for them before even speaking to an attorney 2 months later. read more

Don't be swayed by the positive reviews for Bachus and Schanker, LLC. They may provide good service to some clients, but you need to know that they collect reviews in person at the time of the settlement disbursement and they ask for client permission to publish these reviews. Clients who are not pleased will not take the time or may not feel comfortable completing that survey, and Bachus and Schanker would definitely not publish them. I had a small case. Maybe larger cases are handled better. My situation is consistent with other bad reviews that have been written and I should have listened to my intuition and given more weight to the bad reviews before I chose the firm to represent me. My intuition told me that choosing a firm that advertises on t.v. and buses may be a bad call. A good firm shouldn't need to do this, because they will have plenty of business from referrals. I dealt with a demand letter that was prepared and not approved by an attorney. It was addressed to the wrong person and referenced injuries that were not mine. After being reassured by a partner that my case would be in good hands after this happened, my file was then MIA for several months until a different attorney called to tell me what happened and apologized. I was then reassured that the next person would handle my case with care and the service I received was less than acceptable. My emails would go unanswered for weeks, or never returned at all. The attorney made excuses, blamed my medical providers for missing information, and I had to do way too much follow up to be sure all my bills were paid and all of the information was collected to prepare an accurate settlement and get my case closed. Despite letting the firm know this several times, they made no attempt to make this better. I took the time to complete their survey and never received a follow up call or apology. I had to do way too much work on my own case, and I think they should have reduced the percentage they kept of my settlement. At the very least, an apology or follow up call would have been nice. I have shared my experience with the doctor who recommended the firm to me and I will be sure to share my opinion with every person I know who may be looking for a personal injury attorney. I am convinced that many other firms could do a much better job than Bachus and Schanker. read more

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! Bachus & Schanker will screw you!!! This is the most unethical law firm I have ever encountered. "Our passion is justice?" You mean, your passion is taking people's money and purposefully running out statutes of limitations on their case. Dustin Bergman, Ryan Sais, and the young kid answering phones for reception should all be fired immediately. These people sold us a false bill of goods when we welcomed a young woman in our home who promised up and down how amazing Bachus & Schanker would be. My wife was in a bad car accident in February of 2017 - worst weather night for black ice on record in Northern Colorado for 10 years. Her hip was very badly injured, she tore a labrum. We would later find out her 29 year old hip would require surgery. Our roads were a skating rink - I mean no one could put feet on the ground without falling. We found out 7 people died on 287 the same evening of her wreck, due to the roads being so horrific. To try to take 2 years of drama and make a long story short - USAA refused to pay our med-pay that we were rightfully owed and paying more for each month on our policy, claiming my wife's new hip injuries were 'not related to her recent accident' even though we have multiple doctors letters claiming in fact, it is, and she had no prior symptoms before the accident. We were told at our kitchen table that "Bachus & Schanker is going to take care of this for you. You have nothing more to worry about. We will take care of the rest, and the stress off your hands." Bull. Not true at all and far from what happened. They also said "You won't pay us anything unless we win your case." Also not true. We were told "we'll be there for you through anything, call us anytime." I have literally never ONCE gotten a call back from the countless voicemails I have left for anyone at Bachus & Schanker. They are scared to talk to people who follow up on what they are told they'll get. After 18 months of sitting on the case with no update, having a B&S receptionist call my wife's chiropractor and tell them to discontinue her care because it wasn't going to be covered anymore (illegal), and constantly being told "we are going through everything with a fine tooth comb;" we lost our patience. We started demanding results, what documents they were getting, who they were talking to. Come to find out, they hadn't done ANYTHING. They had acquired some medical notes that my wife OFFERED to give them at the onset, to which they deferred saying "we'll just get them from the doctor." No progress had been made, nothing further had been done, and we were still paying out of pocket for medical bills that we were entitled to have covered by our med pay account through USAA. They were still "reviewing the case" after sitting on it for 18 months. We then started lawyer shopping again. Come to find out, Bachus & Schanker was PURPOSEFULLY LETTING THE STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS RUN OUT on our case. Dustin Bergman was purposefully letting the case sit, so by the time we figured it out and tried to go somewhere else, the case would be too old to bring. Then, after we effectively fired them as a law firm and found someone better (Larson & Larimer - highly recommended) Bachus & Schanker tried telling the other insurance company we got a settlement from that there was a lein of $147 on our account. We disagreed, and eventually using our new lawyer, B&S dropped that lien and told us in writing it would be pursuing no extra costs. (What they told us 18 months prior) THEN, when the settlement check finally came, they tried asserting a charge of $314 after they had already given us the letter saying there would be none!! Another fight - more emails, more crap that we shouldn't be having to follow up on, and eventually we stopped them from stealing more of our money. I will not sit idly by and watch Kyle Bachus or Darin Schanker LIE to the Colorado public about their "passion for justice." FIND ANYONE ELSE TO HELP YOU WITH LEGAL ISSUES! I hired this law firm after speaking to their attorney, Drew. He was excellent. He listened to my employment concerns and asked thorough questions. It was obvious he had heard many of my issues many times before. He assured me he could help and explained each of the next steps. He fought hard for me and supported me through a lengthy deposition. He didn't back down and knew exactly what my rights were. The case took a couple years but that's to be expected. If you believe any law firm can get you fast cash in a couple months you are sorely mistaken. They work hard and take the time to gather all the relevant information to get your best settlement. These things take time. I had full confidence in Drew and his team. And he would periodically update me as the case progressed. Be patient and these guys will take good care of you. This firm is completely unprofessional. I was using them to file for Disability and they will not keep the flow of communication open. They do not return phone calls nor emails. I hadn't heard anything from them about my case in over 8 months. When I tried to hire another firm, Bacchus and Schanker would not waive their right to the fee, causing my new lawyer to drop me as a client. This firm also withdrew from my case (they responded to that in two hours, go figure) and has now left me with no representation. Stay away from this firm at all costs! read more

This firm handled my case from a 2009 injury which was settled in 2012 and I was very satisfied at the time. I had 'hardware' left in my ankle and had asked what would happen if I later needed to have it removed and was told that my insurance would to care of it. In January of 2018 I had to get the 'hardware' removed. Now my insurance is asking for subrogation for this surgery. So I called to speak with an attorney to find out my rights and obligations. I was told they couldn't take the case because there wouldn't be any compensation and I told them I knew that and just needed to ask a question. I was told I could speak to a paralegal and put through to voicemail. I never received a call. So about 10 days later I called again and told the same thing and again I was put through to voicemail and left another message. Now about 10 days later I still have never received a call back. Once they got their money you are no longer any concern of theirs. Very disappointed. Even if they had no way to help me the professional thing would be to call me back. Wouldn't have taken 5 minutes. read more

She then gave me the number for the Colorado Workers Comp division (useless) and the name/number of a lawyer, who when googled, only handles federal employee cases, of which I'm not (useless). Wasted time. Questions I was asked before being told they couldn't help me: 1. Date of my injury. 2. Did it happen at work? 3. Was I a scheduled employee when it happened? I started this whole process a little over 2 years ago and its been a constant battle trying to get in touch with people . They must have a revolving door of employees . I would email and make phone calls with no return calls or emails for weeks at a time. Not one time did they ever reach out to me to give me updates . I actually went to multiple providers to get information for them . At one point they had told me that the last offer was made and the insurance company said that was it . I asked them to call with another counter offer and they never even made that offer my case just sat there for months with nothing happening . I feel like with the revolving door of people who worked on my case that it couldn't have been worked properly . I understand that this wasn't the biggest case in the world but I assume this type of case makes up a large portion of their business but who knows . The final straw was when I had been trying to contact them and find out what was going once again no return calls . I finally decided to call the insurance company and they had paid them 6 weeks pryor . That really boiled my blood . I finally got a call back from a lead attorney and they sent a check by messenger the next day .I did leave a complaint on their website and not even a email to apologize . Their slogan should instead be "Bachus and Schanker, our passion is money". I really wish I could give this these "attorneys" numerous negative stars. If this review helps one person decide to go with another law firm, I will have at least saved one person from possibly ruining their life too. These so called attorneys are not only incompetent, they are totally uncaring about anything but the money they will make. If you go to the site, Glassdoor, and read the reviews from employees who worked for them, you will quite possibly see what Kyle Bachus and Darren Schanker are all about - spending all of their time and money - time that should go to the injured people they so-call represent - on advertising, advertising and more advertising. And all just to get more suckers like me. It will also possibly show you how little work and care they have for and/or give their clients. And yes, I understand employees can write reviews because they are unhappy, angry, etc. however please take the time to at least read some of those reviews. I don't think it's because of that that they wrote them. Employees know how a business is really run, and I believe it's worth it to take the time to see how this business is really run, and to see what Kyle and Darren really care about - how many people they can suck in and how much more money goes into their already very padded pockets. Or just turn on the tv to see all the expensive advertising they put out there, when they can't and don't take care of the clients they already have, much less needing to get new ones. I am absolutely positive I would have been better off had I gone with ANY other law firm/lawyer than Kyle Bachus. Long story as short as possible, I was involved in an accident that was 100% not my fault. I suffered a TBI (traumatic brain injury), as well as numerous other bodily injuries. Kyle Bachus took my case, however he never really did anything. I was required to do all of the proving that I had lost my business, not to mention the extensive, life long injuries I have been dealing with all these years and will be for the rest of my life. At the time, I could not even remember my own children's names, much less get them the information they required. I also had to go through their assistant, when I was so messed up I could literally barely function, to even get anything done before the statute of limitations was up. I am confident I would never have been left in the position I have been all of the years since my accident had I gone with pretty much any other attorney. I have not even had money for basic necessities, much less to live on, ever since the accident because of how little time, effort, and care I received from Kyle Bachus. I definitely did not receive remotely a decent settlement for losing my business as well as my entire life, due to another women's negligence. However, every time I see their commercials, or any other ads they spend so much money on, it makes me sick to my stomach. It is extremely obvious that they are not the slightest bit hurting - which I would have absolutely no problem with, had they not gotten that way from screwing over people like you and me to get there. Please do not make the mistake of going with these guys without at least researching them and reading reviews. The reviews are written by real people like me, they're not fabricated. At least I can promise you mine is not (unfortunately). I have never written a review in my life, and quite frankly I haven't been able to since internet reviews became so easy to do. I was not capable of writing any, I have been so messed up for so long because of the brain injury and no doctors helping me. Oh, that's just the icing on the cake. I wasn't able to see any doctors because of what Kyle Bachus did and didn't do. Because of Kyle Bachus, for the most part I've had to come back from a traumatic brain injury all on my own (which I am still trying to get better from after 12 years), and yes I do blame Kyle Bachus for that. As far as that goes though, that's another story that I cannot fit in here. Please just do not make the same mistake, please make phone calls and find a competent attorney. I promise you, you absolutely cannot go wrong. Even if you find another attorney that screws you over, it probably won't be as bad as what Bachus and Schanker will do to you. And I am not writing this because I am bitter, I am writing this because of how much I have suffered because of the lady that caused the accident, but probably even more so because of Bachus and Shanker. And one more thing - after all was said and done and I paid off all the jokers Bachus and Shanker referred me to, they received more than I did off my injuries. I came away with nothing, they made over $33,000 off my case. I had three different attorneys tell me, before I went with Kyle Bachus, that I should be set for life because of the extent of my injuries, if that tells you anything. read more

I will NEVER recommend these people to anyone. My daughter was in an accident in July 2016 and I hired them to represent her (biggest mistake I have made) and they did a terrible job. Heck they barely did a job at all. They made a few phone calls and look over some paperwork. Then made me do the rest. Getting medical bills, records and any other information they needed when they were being paid to gather all of that information. Now that I have settled my daughters case with the insurance agency and found out there was medical coverage to pay her bills which they wanted to take out of her settlement, they are still wanting 35% of her settlement. If you want to get robbed hire these people if you want a good lawyer look somewhere else. I am sure there are good reviews on better lawyers. read more

It is nothing more than an automated response so that you, the reader will think that they actually care and are willing to do something to change my awful experience with them. Are they willing to renegotiate my next to nothing settlement? Are they willing to replace my totaled car, or better yet, offer to drive me back and forth to work because since the accident, I am no longer comfortable behind the wheel, or to help pay off my accident related debts? Wow-I thought I was the only one that thought this firm sucked. I retained them in 2012 after I had surgery for an injury as a result of a car accident. The first paralegal I had, Kristian Koehler, was FANTASTIC and returned all my emails and calls. Unfortunately he left and then came another paralegal who never returned my calls or emails. Then she was gone and I got another paralegal. The same thing happened-no phone calls or emails returned. As for the attorneys I only met one but talked to Darin Schanker on the phone one time and I have to agree with Tracy's assessment of him. I finally cut them loose and decided to not continue pursuing legal action after I got tired of all the BS runaround. They couldn't get a hold of my surgeon for three months and didn't think they could win my case if it went to trial. Do yourself a favor and don't hire this firm if you need an attorney. read more
