What I didn't realize I was missing was the energy that comes from being surrounded by people pursuing health, wellness, growth, and recovery. What sets Life Time apart is that it isn't just a gym. It's an ecosystem built around helping people become the healthiest version of themselves. One day I may run laps on the indoor track. Another day I may focus on strength training, core work, boxing, stretching, or recovery. There are machines and training areas for every fitness level and every goal imaginable. Treadmills, weights, functional fitness spaces, recovery tools, massage chairs, stretching equipment, steam rooms, hot tubs, infrared saunas, traditional saunas, cold recovery spaces, and more. And yes, there are televisions everywhere filled with sports. Lots and lots of sports. The atmosphere is contagious. You are surrounded by people investing in themselves, challenging themselves, and pursuing healthier lives. One of the lessons I recently wrote about in my article Dynamic Stretch + Recovery is that growth doesn't happen during the workout alone. Growth happens in the recovery. Muscles strengthen when they are challenged and then given time to rebuild. The same is true in life. The best leaders understand this. The healthiest people understand this. Strong performance requires intentional recovery. Life Time has reminded me of that truth. For me, the traditional sauna has become a favorite place to reflect, pray, recover, and simply be still. It is often in those quiet moments that I find clarity, gratitude, and perspective. What has surprised me most is how much our entire family loves it. My daughter is having a blast with the pools, water slides, and activities. The outdoor beach club atmosphere, music, and weekend events make it feel more like a resort than a gym. My husband has found a place to exercise, stay active, and invest in his health as well. We joined thinking we were purchasing a fitness membership. What we found was community, family experiences, wellness, recovery, inspiration, and joy. In a world that constantly tells us to do more, Life Time reminds us that our health, our families, and our well-being are worth investing in too. Grateful we made the decision.

While the gym is pretty decent for the most part: lots of machines, spread-out, saunas, lockers, etc...much of the place looked kind of rundown. So many areas were undergoing construction. In the gym AND the locker rooms. It looks like a really nice gym upon first glance, but it's fairly rundown inside. I arrived close to 6, and then close to 7, a worker tapped my shoulder and told me they close at 7. Upon arriving for the first time, this same worker didn't tell me what time the club closed at all. While he did give me a tour of the place and told me about the gym, he forgot to mention the important detail that it closed at 7. Regardless, I still had a pretty good workout. If they could just do some cleanup and renovate a little quicker, I would've given this review 1-2 more stars. But until the fix the fact that this placed looks rundown and beat-up inside, it will stay 3 stars. There is plenty of parking in front of the club which is nice. It's also free. It's attached to Lenox Mall, so plenty of parking. I don't know if I would come back until renovations were complete.

I've been extremely disappointed with my experience at Orangetheory Brookhaven. The workouts…read morethemselves can be good, but the customer service and overall management left a lot to be desired. I had multiple issues with scheduling, cancellations, getting charged incorrectly, and communication. It was very difficult to get a clear resolution from the staff. The studio often felt disorganized. The billing practices and cancellation fees feel excessive, and trying to get a reasonable answer or resolution is an exercise in frustration. Instead of working with members, the staff seems quick to quote policies without showing any understanding or any documentation. Matter in fact, they were too lazy to show me the document I signed when I first onboarded because I came from the Chamblee location. For the price of a membership, I expected so much more. It is far too expensive for the level of service you receive and it simply isn't worth the money. Before you consider signing up with Orangetheory, do your research and look at other health organizations (Burn Boot Camp, Life Time, La Fitness, Club Pilates, etc...). Save your money and spend it somewhere that actually values its members.

It was about an hour or so for the most part, you had a really energetic instructor there, and they work everything. Starting from the beginning, coming in the door you're greeted (by Kade) and it's super nice and super friendly. The instructor for the day came out, Philip, and talk to me and show me the ropes as far as what to expect from the class. During the workout itself, he was super cool it was really motivating. They were maybe give or take around 12 people in the class and he made time to stop it each section of the room so that you can make sure that you got some attention. That could be hard to do with so many people doing so many different things but orangetheory seems to work it out just fine! You have three sections, weights, rowers, and treadmill. Depending on what type of day, you're going to go between all three of them. Sometimes it's two but the day that I went was three. The structure is going to motivate you and it's going to have some music in the background keeping you on tempo. I really have no drawbacks. I would definitely suggest try it out. The first class is free. And depending on when you join, there's a special going on that you can take advantage of!

First and foremost, I am just your average chick in the sense that I do NOT habitually workout, count my calories, meal prep, etc. I did have a membership at LA Fitness for 3 years (2015-2017) but was really only actively using it for 1 year so I finally made the decision to cancel it. I first step foot into this box July 4, 2017 when my boyfriend invited me to come to their post-WOD ("workout of the day") BBQ. I literally only came for the food, sorry! At the time I still held a membership at LA Fitness and had absolutely NO intentions of committing to another gym; Especially not CrossFit. But of course everyone urged me to give it a try and I left that day with the mindset that CrossFit was a cult (lol). [...Fast forward to March 2018 when the 2018 Reebok CrossFit Games were going on...] My boyfriend asked me to come to the box with him every Friday this month to record his WODs and so I did. On the last week of March, he spontaneously bought me a Groupon for their Fundamentals class ($32) and the rest was history... I've never found a fitness program that I enjoyed until I started CrossFit. Reasons why I love this program (and why it works for me): *Your WOD is created for you & released on their app (Wodify) 8PM the night before so you never have to pre-plan before coming. Plus, they're typically only 15-30mins long but it'll get your HR way up there bc of its style of HIIT. *You always work out in groups/classes which is motivating when you feel like stopping mid-workout but everyone around you is still going strong. Everyone is also so welcoming & full of encouragement! *If there is an exercise that you are unable to do, there is always a scaled version of it or some type of exercise you can do to work on those targeted muscles. *There is always a coach present to stretch you out as a group, ensure everyone warms up properly, & guide you throughout the WOD/correct your form if necessary. *They have a great sound system & nothing is better during a workout than music drowning out the sound of your pain. More about the Groupon Deal: Fundamental classes start at the beginning of every month. Classes are MWT @ 7:30PM for the first 4 weeks. You will then graduate to the intermediate class which you will be allowed to attend for the following 2 weeks and decide if you would like to purchase a membership. You get a cool swag bag for joining which includes free monthly body composition analysis at Max Nutrition. More about CrossFit Valitus: Classes are offered 6 days/week (Monday-Saturday) with M-F at 6AM, 7AM, 12PM, 4:30PM, 5:30PM, and 6:30PM and Saturday at 9AM or 10AM. Some Saturdays are partner workouts to which you're more than welcome to bring a friend/family member as long as they're familiar with the WOD's exercises. They're also open on Sundays at 12PM as an open gym so you can come and work on any exercise that needs improvement. Oh, did I mention you get access to Dynamo's Swim Club!? When we arrived to the pool, we grabbed some drinks at the pool bar and noticed there was a DJ playing. There were many lounge chairs scattered throughout the pool area, but it wasn't too busy, so we were able to find a good spot to sit. We were both with our wives, so there were 4 of us. We had some snacks and drank by the pool. While I did love my visit here, I would never sign up to be a member, as monthly memberships are $200+ which in my opinion is quite steep. We Ubered here, so I am not too familiar with where parking is for members. I would come back here, but only if I was able to visit for free.

While using the women's locker room/rejuvenation area at Life Time Fitness Buckhead, I was completely naked when a male contractor entered the space. I was fully exposed. There was no warning given to me that allowed time to dress, cover myself, or leave the area. No announcement reached me. No safeguard protected me. Whatever policies Life Time claims to have, they failed in real time -- because the result was my total exposure. What happened next was just as disturbing. Instead of taking accountability, management focused on defending "procedure." I was essentially told that everything was done properly -- despite the fact that I was left naked in front of a man. That alone tells me this situation was not taken seriously. Then, the next day, someone attempted to break into my home and sexually assault me. I am stating this plainly because context matters. At this point, it is unknown whether there is any connection between these events. That uncertainty is exactly why this should have been handled with urgency, care, and seriousness. Instead, my concerns were minimized, and I was left feeling unsafe -- not only as a member, but as a woman. I should not have had to escalate this. I should not have had to involve corporate or law enforcement just to be heard. A gym locker room is supposed to be one of the most protected private spaces. Life Time Buckhead failed to protect mine, and then failed again by dismissing the impact. Privacy is not a "process." Safety is not a script. Dignity is not negotiable. Based on my experience, Life Time Buckhead did not uphold any of these. Mike the GM is a sorry somebody.

Brandon was my trainer in small group classes, and I also learned from Miranda and felt supported by the entire team there actually. I experienced no injuries due to their focus on safety. And you'll see a range of generations, male and female. I'd really recommend the facility whether you are a newbie like me or a veteran. I was able to see Brandon to get things started as far as scheduling and told him my realistic goals and I was ready for this long term commitment to myself. I got assigned to Jared as my personal trainer and he's a cool down to earth guy and I look forward to him helping me out on this journey of transformation. All the other coaches are hella cool as well and I feel they felt my good energy as a person every time I pull up.
