Fries fish cake like. Don't know the name but was good.
Fely L.

I haven't been here since pre covid and lot has change. I was craving for the Bacalhau dish and was disappointed. For some reason it didn't taste the same as I remembered as well as the rice all was too dry. I was also sad that black beans and the cheese puff bread was only available on weekends. We also ordered the picanha special they had going but lack flavor and was dried even ordering it med rare. Plus side they remodeled and place looks nice. Service was at minimal ordered and got serve and never came back to check on us. Had to flag them to get water. They were nice but don't expect service. It was not busy only three tables of patron. I didn't even bother to take any pictures of the dishes. I gave two star for remodel and the appetizer dish fried fish ball was ok.

I've always loved bacalhau, which was actually introduced me by my fiancé's Italian side of the family during the 7 fishes Christmas Eve meal. The funny thing was that I was one of the few people who loved salted cod (baccalà in Italian), so it ended up being a staple dish for future Christmases just for me. I didn't realize this until later that bacalhau was a traditional Portuguese dish, so I wanted to find a restaurant where I could have it anytime. In addition to bacalhau, I specifically was looking for some place I could find Brigadeiro. I went to Bacalhau Grill based on a recommendation from my friend, who is Brazilian. What's also cool about this restaurant is that it's attached to a market with Brazilian and Portuguese products. Customer service was excellent. The employee who helped us was very patient and explained everything to us. The food was fantastic, and not only did I find Brigadeiro but I also found other interesting traditional desserts that I can't wait to try for next time! My fiancé and I got a lunch plate each. His had a beef and potato stew, cup of rice, fries, side salad, and a drink. I ordered the traditional bacalhau dish, which came with a cup of rice, salad, and side of Portuguese Feijoada. Everything was so flavorful and tasty. Our server even offered us small samples, which left us wanting more and great reasons for coming back.

This is a rare restaurant and market in the south bay, serving Brazilian and Portuguese food in a casual setting, consisting of a store selling candy, wine, frozen meats, and other goods, and an eatery with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The food menu at the restaurant does not include the English translation, so we struggled a bit when deciding what to order. But the grubhub/doordash menu online has the English translation, so we used that to help us order at the counter for takeout. We got three Pastels/large-sized empanada-like snacks (pizza, beef and cheese, nutella), Rump Steak dish, Bacalhau de Natas (codfish with cream), and a bottle of the Tongue Twister douro red wine. Everything was super tasty, even if they weren't our first choices on the menu (they were out of a lot of items when we visited around 3pm on Sunday, including the nutella and strawberry combo pastels, the grilled bacalhau, tilapia dishes, fried rabbit, and more). It worked out, cuz we absolutely loved the aforementioned items we ended up getting, that codfish dish particularly leaves me craving more. Service was friendly, and the wait time was reasonable. And there's a dedicated parking lot next to the restaurant and market. By the way, the hours listed online are inaccurate. The restaurant closes at 4pm almost every day of the week (I confirmed this with an employee over the phone), which is pretty early IMO and not really ideal for dinner.

A cool place to get Brazilian and Portuguese food/snacks. Service was polite and helped me decide what to get. Right off the bat, everyone who came in spoke Portuguese. Some of the staff do not speak english but that didn't stop the ordering process. I got the Portuguese beef and it was amazing. The frits were crispy and light. The beef and egg were cooked nicely paired with a delicious sauce. Definitely ordering it again. I got a cheese with heart of palm empanada. Wasn't expecting it to be so large. It is delicious and I never tried heart of palm before--would say it's like jack fruit if anyone was wondering too.

This is a non-pretentious restaurant and grocery store. It caters to Brazilians and Portuguese by offering menus from both countries. Salgadinho & pastel are fried upon ordering. The menu is very comprehensive and you get a good variety from all the protein groups. Typically the staff is Brazilian and very friendly. I usually get the Portuguese style codfish which is always good - Bacalhau a Gomes de Sá. It comes with salad and rice. There are lots of desserts and drink options. The place isn't unsophisticated but clean and reasonably priced. Eu recomendo. I recommend

Bacalhau Grill is a steam table restaurant with plenty of dining space.

Bacalhau Grill is a steam table restaurant with plenty of dining space and a store that includes alcohol, but it didn't give me a good feeling regarding the cleanliness. (-2 stars) Enjoyed the Guarana Antarctica to drink and the deep fried potato ball stuffed with chicken. It was a good quick snack. If you are looking for Brazilian food, better that you go to DL Brazuca restaurant. Just 10 min from here. Real nice people, good food, very clean and cozy atmosphere.

The flavor profile is slightly different but I could barely notice since I'm not so familiar with the cuisine. Food: Lingicua- dope presentation. It arrives on fire to your table. Pretty cool and the taste is good but ultimately it's just a sausage. Class streamed in white wine/garlic- really tasty. I really enjoyed this dish. It has a very similar profile to other clam/mussels in white wine dishes so I dunno if you necessarily hafta try it here but it was good. Octopus- was also really good but I wouldn't say any better or worse at other places over had octopus Duck rice- this was just ok. Duck was a lil dry. At $45 I wouldn't recommend. The portion is also tiny. I thought it was gonna be like a big paella or something. Overall everything was solid/tasty. Cocktails were surprisingly good. I'll say the only thing is the value/price. Portions are tiny and some things like the rice are really pricey for the portion that you get so I'd def be aware of that.

Even the malasadas were underwhelming and if you think they are similar to Leonard's, then this does not come close. For the Portuguese tarts, they were served a bit cold. I'd recommend reheating them. The crust was so oily it seeped through the napkin and the filling was overly sweet. I took one bite and couldn't finish it. Overall, the texture and flavor didn't meet expectations. Service was decent but the staff were not friendly. This was a bit of a letdown. If you can, I'd suggest driving or taking the train to SF for this better spot, Holy Nata. It was so much better.

The dishes felt creative and a little unexpected in a good way. A lot of the menu leaned seafood, which I loved. The squid tempura (literally hanging on a line!) was such a cute and memorable moment -- super crispy and paired with two sauces that made it even better. Also have to mention the strawberry sangria... sooo good. Light, refreshing, and actually tasted like real strawberries (not overly sweet or artificial). And the birthday cake sooo cute!! I really appreciated that extra touch -- it made the whole night feel special. Definitely a place for a fun, experience-focused dinner rather than just a regular meal.

However after walking in we were transported into a more serene ambiance, with simple decor and a low volume. I should have snapped a photo of the menu because I do not remember anything we ate (and this was a couple weeks ago) but I can tell you it was all delicious! We did each start with a craft cocktail which was made non alcoholic at our request. I have been wanting to have a non alcoholic old fashioned since I stopped drinking three years ago and it was such an unexpected delight, even being topped with a thick slice of prosciutto. Our meal began with an array of amuse bouches, presented in such a cool display, I don't think any of them came on an actual plate. Each portion of the meal was delightful and the flavor profiles stood out among each one. All in all, this was a great experience and one I would recommend for foodies.

The whole vibe of the place is relaxed and like a European cafe. The coffee even tasted like European espresso. It was perfect. A little acid from the juicy tomato (not watery) salt and spices from the linguica, butter, and a light fluffy but crispy roll was amazing.
