This Valentine's I wanted to look for a unique shop that can differentiate themselves from the many florists in the area. Babylon is a small business that offers what they call Designer's Choice; you give them a budget and they will create on what selections they have that day. It's fun and a surprise at the same time. One thing to note is that you probably will get less flowers compared to other businesses at the same price but it's the creativity that really shines. The arrangement I got for my girlfriend was big but also unique. Customer service was great and they were quick to respond to my emails. Pick up was seamless and the location was very central being right outside of downtown Denver. I would give them a solid 4.5/5. If they're able to offer more flowers for the cost then I can highly recommend and say they're one of the best florists in Denver. Thanks for making my girlfriend happy!

This morning while shopping at Sprouts, I saw some really good prices for some really lovely arrangements; most of them less than $20. Before purchasing the flowers at Sprouts, I remembered this floral shop in my neighborhood and decided to spend my money locally and support the shop. I stopped in this afternoon and told the friendly woman at the counter that I wanted some tulips as the main feature, and that I was happy to spend $35. I returned 10 minutes later and was surprised at how small this arrangement was for $39. I understand that shops like this don't have the purchasing power of a place like Sprouts, but this isn't competitive at all. Almost three times the price for half the amount of flowers. I will be purchasing flowers at Sprouts for the time being. I really do wish this business future success. I understand times are tough, just wanted to give my feedback for the business in hopes it provides a perspective that may benefit them in the future.

This morning while shopping at Sprouts, I saw some really good prices for some really lovely arrangements; most of them less than $20. Before purchasing the flowers at Sprouts, I remembered this floral shop in my neighborhood and decided to spend my money locally and support the shop. Today I went in and asked the guy at the counter what plants were "friendship" plants or those with similar meaning - to which he said any plant I get a friend is a friendship plant, and that he doesn't "keep up with that stuff." Soooo, if you want a meaningful plant gift, maybe don't go here unless you know exactly what you want...? I spent $50 for a potted plant I know I could have gotten elsewhere for $30, but I wanted to support a small biz in my neighborhood. I had to ask if they would add ribbon or something since it was a bday, and it just felt like he didn't really care. Not worth it IMO, but I will say their plants look healthy. SHRUG. read more

I had a really bad experience here...was misquoted and the man on the phone had the worst attitude and made my business feel like it was nuasance and he couldn't be bothered. The initial quote was much less than what they came back with and they were much more expensive than other florists in the area. Go elsewhere... read more

I arranged to have Babylon do the floral arrangements for a rehearsal dinner and received an estimate two months before the event and told them I'd like them to do it. One month before the event, Arthur, the owner, sent me an email and told me he cancelled me because I had not yet sent any funds. I had planned to pay them in full. The estimate gave no instructions for a deadline for a deposit or payment. They did not contact me before cancelling and a call to Arthur to plead with him to reconsider went nowhere. I would have paid in full on the spot. This left me scrambling with very little time before the wedding! I thought Arthur was a nice guy, but he is not a decent business person. I would NOT recommend doing business with him. read more

My new Denver florist. What a way you were able to take my words and convey them into two beautiful arrangements within the allotted budget. The use of the blue and the expected time of lasting was perfect. I don't know why? More people don't have fresh flowers, in their hotel room while they are on vacation. One star seems high though the recipient thinks the arrangement is beautiful. Why the low rating? I paid $120 to have a truly unique arrangement. What was delivered is so basic I'm ashamed. I knew the reviews were too good to be true on this one. I should have stuck with ProFlowers. They're always reliable and a quick search just now shows me amazing arrangements, some very modern, for over $40 less. I had read such amazing reviews about Babylon Floral that I decided to use them instead of one of the online retailers. My sister's birthday is a very special occasion so I wanted to really knock her socks off. I placed an order online a couple weeks before her b-day which was on the 10th of February. (yes, I know, close to Valentine's Day) and received a call from one of their employees within 24 hours. I explained my situation. Sister's b-day and really wanted to impress. She asked me about favorite colors and flowers and I provided answers. My credit card was charge the next day and then I waited for the phone call from my sister (she usually calls me when I send her flowers). I waited until the day after her b-day and then called her to ask if she had received anything. Nope. :( I emailed Babylon Floral and Arthur quickly responded with a phone call apologizing profusely for the mix-up. Her order had been lost in the Valentines Day orders. He put an incredible arrangement together and she had it on Sunday. It was pretty freaking stunning and her exact words were "it was worth the wait!" That makes me happy. The flowers are super unique and Arthur really cares about making his customers happy. I emailed him to let him know I was happy and asked to stop by when I was in Denver later that month. Unfortunately, due to a sickness I was unable to stop by his shop. Maybe next time I'm in town. Do not take this lightly: Babylon Floral is AWESOME. I HIGHLY recommend them if you want to really impress someone and want very high quality, unique flowers and designs. Thank you Arthur for making it right and knocking socks off! read more

Beyond the flowers, though, their customer service is simply wonderful. Our friend's flight was canceled last-minute and so I reached out asking if I could reschedule the delivery for several days later. My husband got me flowers from here for Mother's Day. They never blossomed and browned within 2 days. He told me he went in and asked for a bouquet between 20 and 30 dollars, and the woman went in the back, and came back to the front and said "the total is 32.30" I've attached some photos of my flowers from 4 days ago. Love, love, LOVE these guys! They helped me out in a bind several years ago and I remember being so impressed with the quality customer service over the phone, and then even happier when I found out how much my friend loved the flowers I'd sent. This past week I received the most beautiful bouquet from my fiancé and it was delivered by the nicest, most courteous person I've ever spoken with on the phone -- such a 180 from the terrible experience I'd had with Broomfield Florists -- who made an effort to find out when and where the best place was for her to drop off the flowers. History

Established in 2004.

The whole concept behind Babylon was to create a beautiful oasis in a dry, rough urban setting. Based on the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, and thanks to the inspiration of my first customer and her eighth floor garden we created together, Babylon Floral Design was born. We strive to test the boundaries of the industry, including fashion projects, installations and the most unusual of botanicals!

With a background in photography, sculpture, and garden design, I've been in the industry for 15 years, opening the shop 5 years ago in it's present location. Our new location will be unveiled in the next few months! I've served on the Board of Directors for the Colorado Retail Floral Association, been a demonstrator for the Denver Art Museum and area garden clubs.I'm currently the VP of Ikebana International Chapter 66. You are essentially a displaced traveler with a boarding pass, trying to avoid sitting in an airport terminal for five hours while security employees begin recognizing your face. That is how we ended up at the Denver Milk Market on a Thursday evening. Located in the Dairy Block on Wazee Street, it is a sprawling food hall designed by chef Frank Bonanno. It is a very pleasant sanctuary to kill some time before ascending into the night sky. The beauty of a venue with a dozen or so food counters is that a group of exhausted travelers does not need to achieve any sort of culinary consensus. One person can eat bao buns, another can eat handmade pasta, and a third can get fried chicken while another simply grabs a few drinks without any diplomatic negotiations. While we were wandering, a woman sat at a table with a microphone hosting a game of trivia to what appeared to be an entirely imaginary audience. Not a single person in the room appeared to be participating. It was a fascinating piece of experimental theater focusing on the loneliness of human knowledge. She called out questions about pop culture, agriculture and other various topics into the empty void, completely unbothered by the silence. I respected her commitment to the craft. The alley outside was maybe the finest part of the establishment. The Dairy Block alleyway is paved and lit up overhead. There was also a side room featuring communal seating and free games like skee ball, a shuffleboard table, and foosball. It turns waiting for a late flight into a minor social outing instead of a punishment. My primary critique is aimed not at the food hall itself, but at the city of Denver as a whole. Everything shuts down ridiculously early. The city has built a ecosystem of food halls, alleyways, and bars that is full of potential, yet the municipal clock seems to dictate that all citizens must be safely tucked in by nine o clock. For a traveler trying to enjoy the city after a long day in a convention center or stretch an evening before a red eye flight, this early curfew is an inconvenience. The Denver Milk Market is an attractive and versatile option for the weary traveler or hungry lunch crowd. It may not be a holy site that requires a special trip across town, but if you have some time to burn, a desire for a game of shuffleboard, and a late flight home, it performs its job admirably. Just make sure you get there before the city decides it is bedtime.

Babylon sent me a personalized letter explaining how their shop had been broken in to, that the flowers were stolen, and sent a free and beautiful arrangement in compensation.
