I'm still trying to find a florist in Denver. I'm like a bee buzzing through one florist to the next in Denver every time, hoping that this would be my last stop and remain loyal forever. I had one favorite Denver florist that I go to since 2010 but closed due to owners illness. I send flowers to my daughter on her birthday and Valentines Day without a miss every year. I am passionate about flowers and I know what I want. I described to her that I want blush pinks, dark pink accents and white or greenish white colors only. I mentioned hydrangeas, roses, white lilies in a cylindrical vase or a vintage looking jug. If peonies was in season I would have added it in there and they only have them in orange. I always ask my daughter to send me a photo. Well, it's a let down. I guess it's different when you walk in to a flower shop and pick them yourself so they have a vision of what you really have in mind. My favorite flower shop in LA (since I'm a local) is Mark's Garden in Sherman Oaks. Floral arrangements should be visually pleasing that brings an ahhh moment to someone special. Color, shapes, size, height, accents should all come together It should speak love and/or romance than just a bunch of flowers. I paid 177.00 dollars for this. By the way, as I was placing this order, she sounded rushed and impatient! I asked for a receipt and if I could give her my email address so she can email it to me. Her response: I'm at the back of the shop, you have to call a couple of days after Valentine's Day when we're not too busy. ( I called Feb. 12 to place the order.) Pros: delivered on time. Cylindrical vase. Cons: bad customer service. Floral arrangement is awful!!! My final thought: it doesn't matter what holiday it is, when you're on that phone taking orders regardless whether your overwhelmed or not every customer is entitled to that few minutes because we're the lifeline of your business. By the way, I'm not going to mention the name of that staff who helped me. Well, my daughters birthday is next month, I wish myself good luck in finding the best floral shop in Denver! Ugh!!! I updated my review to 3 star, my daughter called me and said she loves it. Ok. That's what's important! 2/23-So I get a response from Arthur. We know that it includes tax and delivery and that's what I paid. I go to the Los Angeles flower market a lot and head out very early in the morning. I have fresh flowers in my home every week. So I know how much each of these flowers cost, and flower markets have extensive display of vases in every shape, size, color in glass, ceramic, and wood. The old EZE-Mop building on 17th Ave, in all its charming entirety, is officially 100% legitimate. Babylon Floral was the one shop along "the strip" that had eluded me. I guess I never had a reason to visit, but going forward, I will without question try to create reasons to come back. A history lesson for my readers. I've always liked flowers. They add color. They smell nice. They remind you of life. I never went much further past that. But when someone treats flower design on the whole as true artistic expression, you better bet it'll open up my third eye. I went into this store not really knowing what the end result would be. I provided the owner and staff with just the slightest bit of direction. I told them I wanted something for a housewarming, that the owners had a Peppermint Boutique/Anthropologie style to their interior design, that I wanted to spend X amount, and that I needed it by 2:30pm the next day. They put it together proper. An incredibly diverse assortment of flowers and even garden herbs (rosemary, mint). The colors and the vase were the perfect amount of shabby-chic. And they even added a small bird's nest complete with feathers, to help tie in the housewarming theme. Every time I go to this place in the future, I will treat it like a freestyle session. I will just give them a word or a mood, a dollar amount, and then let them run with it. I can't say enough about Arthur and Babylon Floral. He is literally a Christmas Angel. My Mom was admitted to Rose last night and I called Arthur (not know him at all) and asked if he could get her some flowers. Now remember it's 5pm Christmas Eve. I called Babylon to deliver a birthday bouquet in downtown Denver. I wanted to use a nearby florist. The girl was nice and said I could do anything form $40 & up plus $10.00 delivery. So I figured, don't go bare bones, and asked for a $50 arrangement, which came to $63.83 (not sure about Denver taxes). Simply amazing! They can create something out of you flailing your arms around with vague ideas of what you want! My friends decided to do an impromptu wedding at the court house one Wednesday. I ran over the peppermint for a card and then decided the bride had to have flowers. So i ran it and said - i need a bouquet and booteneer now. Can you help? She calmly said - sure, let's see. What are her colors or style. Oy - modern and sharp...? With what little info i gave her and some - keep it simply, really, it's a 5 min ceremony - she created pure genius! My partner and I had a wedding reception for friends and family this summer and to save money, we did most of the flowers/decorations ourselves. However, as the day approached and we were feeling overwhelmed with all the details, we decided to bring in some reinforcements. My partner works at DBar Desserts and had heard wonderful things about Arthur (who provides the arrangements for the restaurant). I literally gave Arthur a call two days before our reception trying to find fern curls to finish our arrangements since the ones I ordered from an online bulk flower provider arrived damaged. Not only did he answer the phone at 7pm, but he was happy to check the flower market first thing in the morning to see if the fern curls he saw that day were still available and fresh. Success! Arthur was able to get gorgeous fern curls for us the next day and also gave me a small discount just because (I assume) he felt for our situation. AND to add to the story, I then asked him if he might be able to make our boutonnieres for pickup the very next day. He was so gracious and willing to help - it was such a relief! I provided him with the flowers and gave him free rein to design something unique. We picked up the boutonnieres the next day on the way to the reception and they were absolutely beautiful - modern, striking, simple. Arthur then only charged me $20 for creating 5 gorgeous products. I needed a corsage for my wife's Baby shower a few weeks ago, and had left finding one until almost the last day. Looking on Yelp, I found Babylon Floral and dropped by. The store is lovely, filled with interesting and beautiful objects and flowers, and the lady who was running it then was able to take down my order and promise that I'd be able to get it the next day. When I came by to pick it up, it was lovely, and they were able to give me a small bag to hide it from my wife. They also asked me about what else was in the fridge, and gave me advice as to how it might affect the flowers. These folks are speedy, helpful, and have good prices. (It was about $22, I think, for the corsage.) I'm planning on using them again! read more

I don't usually write reviews, but with my experience with Babylon, I thought I should. I called Babylon to do my bridal flowers. I set up an appointment and was told taht I'd be charged $50 for a consultation. I was completely fine with that, but wanted to make sure that I wasn't charged until I had the appointment. The woman on the phone assured me they were only putting my card on hold and that I wouldn't see a charge until after the meeting. Then, today I discovered they charged my account. I don't think it's right to be charged for a service I have not yet gotten, so I called the shop. The man on the phone was not very professional, and pretty much said that he wouldn't take the charge off. So I had to cancel my appointment in order to get a refund. That doesn't seem right to me--and they've now lost my business. read more

I called Arthur two weeks before the wedding and he was able to give me everything I wanted! He made arrangements for the bridal party as well as the main centerpieces on such short notice. I have been in twice for custom bouquets, and both times I was incredibly impressed by the skill of the floral designers, the sense of vision of the staff, and the incredible beauty of the finished products...When I go in, I typically tell them I want something really beautiful for x dollars, maybe specify a few types of flowers that I definitely want included, and then ask if it is possible to make a stunning bouquet at that price. It took me walking around the store three times before I really felt that I had seen everything, mostly because, with his arrangements, I found the smallest details to be the prettiest and there were a LOT of small details. Arthur was very friendly and when he asked what kind of occasion I needed a fresh arrangement for (my sister is currently bed-ridden after getting into a pretty gnarly scooter accident), and what my budget was ($40) he knew exactly what to put together for me. 10 minutes later, he was done and the finished product was a masterpiece!
