Holy wow, I love this business. Fabulous concept - extremely well executed. Well done, folks! A fantastic resource for anyone traveling to New York with a baby. A couple days before I left on a trip to New York City with my not-yet-five-month-old daughter, I determined that it would be really, really, really nice to have a couple small pieces of gear on our trip that I didn't want to bring. Searched on "baby gear rentals" in New York City and discovered this business. The reviews were great, equipment inventory extensive, the prices reasonable and set-up straightforward. I had a small question about the process and called the weekend before our trip and the call was answered by a friendly, warm, helpful representative. I set everything up online. When I arrived, the gear was already in my room and in excellent condition. It turned out that the crib the hotel had for us was - to put it lightly - a piece of crap, so I called these guys the day after we arrived and they delivered a Bjorn travel crib that was in excellent condition within *hours*. read more

This was such a wonderful baby rental service. They were so helpful, punctual with pick up and drop off, and all items in great condition. I rented a crib, high chair, stroller and toys and every single item was clean and working perfectly. I really wish every city I traveled to had service like them- it would make packing so much easier! read more

Rental equipment was easy to order, clean, and at the hotel when we arrived. I had tried calling to add one item to the order but nobody picked up the phone, and my voicemail was never returned nor was the additional item added to our order. Might have been because I tried adding it the Saturday before our visit which was on Monday, so maybe they just don't work on the weekend and couldn't get to it Monday morning. The pickup was done a day after it was supposed to be, and it was awkward when the hotel called us asking why the large amount of stuff we left at the front desk wasn't picked up yet. Other than those two issues, great experience. Would definitely use them in the future, just need to make sure to order everything we need up front, and tell the hotel they might not pick up everything when they say they will. read more

I ordered a crib for my son to use at the Air B&B we stayed at in NYC recently. It was easy navigating their website and setting up the reservation, which I appreciated a lot. (Another gear rental company had a LONG document I had to sign electronically, and after all that, they cancelled my order because they didn't have any availability - lame!) I requested for our crib to be delivered on the earlier side of the 2-hour delivery window (4-6pm) and they delivered it at 4:30, which was great. The crib was easy to fold out, and the sheets and mattress were well-packaged and super clean. Deducting one star because they were a little late on the day of pick up, which was a little nerve-wracking because we had to plane to catch. I will echo what other Yelpers have mentioned - they are not the easiest to reach if you need immediate assistance. I called to confirm pick up of our crib and I had to leave a message, but my call was returned fairly promptly, within about 30 minutes. read more

By far the best baby gear rental service we have experienced! We have used two others throughout the years we've grown our family and visited my husband's family in NYC and both were actually more stressful to deal with! The point is to reduce the stress when traveling with little ones! Baby Chic NY saved our most recent trip to New York when the other company dropped the ball just days before our visit. The service was so seamless. Everything was clean and of great quality. Most of all, communication was so easy! There weren't many options out there when we had our first child but now that we've come across Baby Chic NY, we will absolutely use them again and again...and will strongly recommend to all of our friends & family traveling with children to the area. read more

UPDATE - I received a call from the owner apologizing and telling me that they updated their website and rental agreement to make the delivery fees more obvious and known upfront. She did not ask me to update my review, but I respect that she called me and am happy that they have changed things to make the delivery fees known before people order from them. I did not use their service, so I cannot comment upon that, but am reassured that they are not trying to trick people. They also ended up refunding my cancellation fee. PRIOR REVIEW: DO NOT USE - they trick consumers with hidden fees that are listed pages down in their rental agreement. My impression is they are praying on busy moms (i.e., the people who are renting from them) who do not have time to read pages and pages to charge ridiculous amounts for delivery - in my case, almost triple the rental fee. $70 delivery for a $24 rental. I really wanted to love this company as I think they are offering a wonderful service, but beware of these hidden fees. To reserve gear they make you fill out your credit card information without giving you all of the pricing information and then they have you read literally thousands of words of fine print before they list in even smaller print that there is a $70 delivery fee. When I tried to cancel given the hidden fees, they charged me $25 though they had only confirmed my reservation within the 20 minutes before I canceled. read more

I originally ordered baby gear from Baby's Vacation a month in advance, and upon arriving in NYC, did not receive the items. After attempting to call this company several times and getting the run around, I shifted gears and emailed Baby Chic NY. I received a quick reply and the baby items I needed were delivered the same day. The items were clean and well maintained. I am very pleased with this service and will use them again when in NYC. Thanks for saving the day! read more

I actually tried a more well known service first, and they took forever to get back to me. It's hard to juggle a crib rental with your arrival and departure times. For my baby, pack n play or a big bed isn't really an option and I needed the crib for naptime and bedtime. Lara was SO easy to work with and was really flexible with drop off and pick up times. The crib was in excellent shape with an organic mattress, mattress pad, and mesh bumpers. I brought my own sheet but they provide those as well. They had no problem picking up on a holiday weekend. FIVE STARS! Thank you! read more

These guys were terrific. I ordered the gear a few weeks in advance, they were able to accommodate a few changes such as drop off and pickup location. The items were dropped off when they said they would be, picked up when they said they would be, and in excellent condition. In addition to that, my flight was cancelled and they were easily able to accommodate an extra day. I would highly recommend Baby Chic NY! read more

We rented a Phil and Ted stroller for a quick trip to New York with all five of my kids and 22 total in our party. This was an absolutely amazing service! When we showed up to our hotel the concierge had the stroller waiting for us. When we left we dropped it with the concierge and never had to hassle with it again. It was amazing! The only reason I gave it 4 stars was because the front wheel of the stroller was a little tricky. If we would have stayed longer I would have contacted the company to see if we could get a different stroller but for our 3 day adventure we just made it work. read more

I was in NY for a week and rented the citi mini GT - it was in great condition and we're glad Baby Chic NY had the exact stroller we have at home. The delivery/pickup was really easy and although I had to change my pick up location, Baby Chic NY was able to accommodate my time and location. They are really prompt with communication too! Always a plus when you're traveling and need help. I would highly recommend these guys and will def use them for my next trip to NY. read more

I have to say this company helped me a lot. I need a few things for the kids and the delivered literally. The lady was very helpful and guided me to exactly what i needed. This is a great concept. I will defiantly refer my friends. Thank you again Baby Chic NY. read more

Very reliable, and wonderful service to rent baby items. We rented for our visitors with a 2-year-old, and the product is very nice. They communicate very well for delivery and pick-up, so we didn't have to wait around. Price is right, and would recommend to everyone who needs baby items for a short term. read more

Wish I could have found you sooner. I travel for work and leisure to NYC ALL the time. I was sending my stroller via FedEx etc to avoid carrying. You all had my exact model and hotel delivery... genius! Thank you. read more

Great concept. I didn't get to use the rentals I had ordered, because the airbnb could provide them. But reserving them was easy and customer service rep was very understanding in the fact I had to cancel. I was really looking forward to trying the mini GT, as we are thinking about getting one. I definitely want to try this next time I'm in NY read more

Second time using this service for our visits to NYC. Have rented a pack n play and high chair. Delivered on time, equipment clean and perfect condition. Love this service!!! read more

Great service! I used the rental service to get a top-brand travel crib for an Airbnb guest. Reasonable price, delivered and picked up on time. The owner, Tiffany, was lovely to work with. She returned my email promptly, answered all my questions and was exactly what I needed. Would use again. read more

We've used Baby Chic NY three times now, and rented a wide range of items - full size crib, high chair, booster seat, walker. They are all in good condition and BCNY is great about delivery and pick-up to the Upper East Side. The only drawback is that its hard to get anyone on the phone/email if you need to change/confirm. But, all in all, a great service! read more

Great company to use! We were in NYC for one weekend and arranged to have a 4-moms crib. The crib arrived on time, in perfect condition and the pick up was just as easy!! Also, the staff are sweethearts. We will definitely use this service again!! read more

I was in NY for a few days and staying with a friend. I was panicking about schlepping all our baby gear across the country, so I started looking at renting gear. Baby Chic's prices were incredibly reasonable, I was able to make my reservation 2 days before I arrived, and they were able to drop off/pick up with the doorman from my friend's building. The gear was all in great shape, and I even got to try out the portable crib I'm thinking about buying. I'm not sure about the reviewer who wasn't able to speak with a real person - I called and spoke to someone 3 times, once was even after normal business hours and they still picked up. Overall, a great experience, and much better than lugging a crib, booster seat, and swing on my travels. read more

When I realized my husband took the stroller in his car on the day of my travel to NYC with my 3mo old, my hotel concierge recommended this as a solution. We rented a bugaboo chameleon. It was left at the luggage area and very easy to assemble. The stroller was in very good condition - like new. As a last minute renter I was happy with the very quick confirmatory email back after submitting an order on line. We initially rented the stroller for 2 days and extended for another 2. The extension was easy - just a quick email exchange. As a bonus, I had been curious about this stroller so it was fun to have it for our long weekend. This would be a 5 review if not for a couple things which have been mentioned in other reviews, both of which were due to my last minute reservation: 1) it's not readily apparent how to reach someone by phone and with a last minute reservation that would have been nice. 2) the website is not iPhone friendly. I had to wait until I landed and got to the hotel to get to the checkout screen on my laptop. read more

Seems like a wonderful service but I am having a really hard time reaching someone by phone. The website has a chat message but no one seems to be online. I am frustrated because I am trying to rent a stroller and car seat for a last minute stop in NYC but the company the hotel reccomended baby chic ny doesnt pickup. I guess they did a great job back then thats why the hotel had their number on file but not sure whats going on now. I will keep trying and update the posts! I travel a ton with the kids for business and would really love to work with them but doesnt seem like its going to work out :( I will update my review if I get through and let you guys know how it went. Update 8/25/16 - after calling and trying to interact with the chat I was unable to. I went with another company and will be downgrading my star rating to 2 stars for lack of picking up the phone for a "premier" rental equipment company. I mean if your going to charge $70 for delivery atleast have someone to pickup the phone. read more

Great experience, very quick & smooth. My sister visited me in new york and forgot her baby's stroller, they were so helpful. I would make changes last minute in my order, yet they were so responsive and make it happen! Would definitely try them again. I only wish there was discounts for longer periods.. thanks ladies for making things easier for us! read more

I am very dissapointed in this service. 2 years ago we travelled to NYC with the kids and the service was top notch. Im not sure what happened between then and now. No one is answering the phones and it seems like they are neglecting the business. I wish theire were companies that took this business seriously and there is really a need for this type of service. I went online and as another yelper stated no ones ever on the chat. For the business owner just to let you know the phone going straights to your voicemail at times and then sometimes it rings! I rented from you before and was very satisfied that is the only reason I am giving 2 stars! Please call me back. read more

Used Baby Chic when in Queens visiting my family and couldn't have had a better experience! Pick-up and drop-off were easy and convenient, and the car seat was in perfect condition. I will definitely use them whenever I am back in town. read more

I am so grateful to Baby Chic NY! This is an excellent company. I contacted them last minute and found everything I needed. Their products are top quality and everything was clean. Delivery and pick-up were on time, and communicating with the company via email was very easy. I will definitely use them again next time I'm in the New York area. Thanks for your wonderful service! read more

What a great find! My sisters travel often to NY to see me and being able to rent all the gear for their kids is a lifesaver. So glad I found Baby Chic rentals. I was able to order exactly what I needed and arranged for pick up and delivery right from the hotel! Loved the professional response from the owner and was extremely pleased that everything was so clean and top quality. I will use them for every visit! read more

I rented a crib and mattress via delivery, which was all totally fine. But I was never able to speak to a live person, which was kind of nerve-wracking because I had a question and forgot to put a delivery name on my order so I was just leaving a bunch of messages. There's also no contact email. read more
