I had plans to go to a laundromat after my visit to the DMV office (that is in the same strip mall area as the laundromat). And I saw there was a laundromat as I pulled into the parking lot. How convenient for me! I went in first to check to see if the machines were coin-operated only or if they were the cashless type. The lady at the front desk told me the machines were coin-op only. However, she was able to use my bank card to pull cash of $20 (with a .60 cent card fee). The facility looked well maintained, clean and air-conditioned when I walked in. The bathroom is for customers only and there is an oversized sink with a detachable nozzle. Nice! There are two different sized washing machines with the smaller one priced at $3.75 and the larger one at $4.75. Dryers are one size priced at .25 cents for every 7 minutes. Several tables to fold your laundry and carts are available to use throughout. There were even some lint rollers and a couple of portable lint shavers to use at one of the tables. They also provide little perks depending on what day you come in. Today was free dryer sheets day. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available via QR code access using your smart phone's camera. I went in on a Tuesday around 11:30am and the place was almost empty. I obviously came in during their non-peak time. Overall, great facility. Plenty of parking space. Staff is friendly and helpful. Laundry supplies are available for purchase at front desk, if needed.

I got there at 5pm on Christmas Eve, only for the lady to tell me they didn't dry clean my blazer because "color was leaking from the blazer" when they tested it. I honestly believe they forgot to dry clean my blazer and came up with a bogus excuse. They're so irresponsible!

I love the card system and I love the factThat the machines are always working and in tiptop order. The one in Emerson has been there for many years, the one in Rutherford is new, the place is only new once :-) I have a hair salon so I need a location that will allow me to dry my towels because my towels need to be crisp and clean and sonic suds keeps my towels just the way I like them. I put a new card at the new location so I'm not sure if the cards are interchangeable. The Decor is very similar to Emerson and Lodi so I'm sure it's the same owner?

Pros: Clean, well-maintained laundromat. -There's a good…read morenumber of machines, and I like how the machines are grouped and labeled by size so you don't have to waste time searching around for the right one. -It seems the washers are pretty fast and efficient. -Very convenient parking--you can park in their lot, and the door is right in front of you. -The restroom is very clean. -The prices may be a tad high during regular times, but there are several times for discounts, and the Wednesday all-day discount on all washers is one of the best deals in town, especially with the larger washers. (It also cuts down on the competition you may experience at the other large laundromat in town.) -had a non-urgent question about my laundry card, and Customer Service replied the next day and graciously gave me a credit remotely via web site chat. The cons: -The seats are awkwardly close together. -The Wednesday evening that I went, the attendant, though nice, spoke almost no English, so I couldn't get help for a question regarding the laundry card machine. -The biggest downside for me is the limited number of settings on the washers. You can't select combination of options that is not in the 8 common presets, such as heavy soil warm water, or normal cold wash. There's no option at all for an extra wash or extra rinse. I use all these settings pretty regularly. Anyway, it seems my laundry has come out decently clean as far as I can tell.

Clothes Encounters Laundromat - Rutherford, NJ…read more I walked into Clothes Encounters with two comforters and a lot of determination, but also a bit of confusion. With $10.25 in hand and two Tide Pods, I made a rookie mistake. I started the wrong machine, and of course, I didn't realize it until after the fact. But here's where this place really shines--Deb, the woman working the counter, came to my rescue. She noticed I was flustered, and without hesitation, she started the correct machine for me at no extra cost. Plus, she generously gave me some detergent since I lost my Tide Pod. Now that's customer service. The laundromat is clean, with plenty of machines to choose from. My comforters were washed and dried with no issues (after a little help), and I was back on track. Despite the hiccup, the experience was smooth, and I left with a fresh load and a smile. Final thoughts: Small mistake, huge save, and solid service. 5 stars, easily. Dry cleaning and wash and fold available as well.
