Their voicemail box is full so you can't leave a message and no one answers their phone. Emailed too, no response.

I was sadly unimpressed by Oak Bloom OT. We took my 3yo for an based on a recommendation from…read more school and were able to get an appt the next week with a very new OT (less than a year in practice). She was friendly but when we arrived she immediately said, bye to me and asked me to wait outside. I felt this was very strange and since being at a new OT center, have learned it is not typical to separate a young child (3yo) from their caregiver right from the start. However, I stayed outside and felt my son was safe there. When we met to discuss her findings the meeting was just a disaster. She had nothing prepared, she just read from her clinical notes (which we had already seen), didn't go over the sensory profile results, couldn't give a straight answer on anything we asked, and we ended up having to lead the meeting and set next steps. We changed OTs that afternoon. I understand being new in the health care field, as I have been there myself. But with proper oversight these kind of meetings that completely destroy any trust or confidence that was built can be avoided. A few more practical items: - parking is on the street which is fairly easy in the mornings - the stairwell to get up to the office is very narrow and dark, and my son immediately was like, uh no. - they won't provide any ICD coding (even functional) so you can't submit for insurance reimbursement. Overall it was a waste of money for us, unfortunately. I'm very glad other parents have had so much better experiences for their little ones!

Especially nurse Alan, nurse Gina and CNA Karen and a few others who were also caring and patient with my dad. Considering his condition. I went pretty much everyday to make sure my dad ate because otherwise he wouldn't. Most of the time the CNA's wouldn't even bother to feed him. He lost a lot of weight while there. Found him on the floor twice once he was soiled and no one in sight. They were always telling me he was refusing to eat and take meds. Went home with quite a few bed sores. He doesn't get them at home. What does that tell you. There was a front desk African American lady who was super rude and unprofessional . She was lazy and every time I called she'd lie and say " oh he's fine he ate 25% and when I went later it was a whole different amount. (Because believe me I checked with the nurse) always on her phone playing games or on social media. Didn't care about the patients at all. She was mainly there on weekends. Anyhow as for those few nurses and CNA's who did take care of him well otherwise. Don't think this place is good for people with dementia because they're mainly left in room all day and they just sleep. They give them there meds when they can I guess and they get fed if they're lucky and get one of the caring nurses or CNA. Glad he's home now and do t have to worry about him not being properly cared for.

Kelli Parnall has worked with our daughter, Scarlett, from the time she was just 9 months old…read more Scarlett's seven now, and come a tremendous way because of Kelli's work. Kelli's new business: "OT Kidsense" isn't really a new business at all. She's been helping kids for years. Kelli is a gold star OT, rivaled by no one in the field that I've ever met. So many OTs use a rather narrow range of techniques to address a specific identified issue. For Scarlett, global delays in her fine motor abilities, sensory issues and many other issues made for several moving targets. No amount of narrow goal setting was ever going to address all of Scarlett's needs. Scarlett needed a rounded, whole-human approach to therapy, and that is exactly what Kelli provides. Any concerned parent looking at sensory or fine motor issues with their child in the area should take a look a Kelli's new business. Our daughter would not be the same without her.

We've been working with Kelli from Kidsense, and while our child enjoys the sessions, we expected…read moremore from the therapeutic process and a stronger, more collaborative relationship between the therapist and caregivers. The positives- Kelli is immediately available for afternoon appointments - something that is very rare in pediatric occupational therapy in the Bay Area without a long wait. Our child really enjoys the sessions and loves the gym space. What needed improvement- Communication - Kelli was responsive during onboarding, but communication became inconsistent and at times difficult. Kelli has strict and shifting guidelines about how and when she prefers to be contacted, whether by text or email, and even which days she prefers messages. These evolving expectations have been difficult to navigate and at times felt unnecessarily rigid. Measurable Progress - The therapy felt very general, without clear goals or a structured plan. Kelli discouraged a formal assessment, and her initial screening didn't lead to a defined treatment path. We were hoping for more targeted support and a stronger sense of progress. She also seems to sometimes have trouble recalling past session activities, which raises concerns about tracking and continuity.

I feel completely comfortable and at ease with her. She cares deeply about helping people, is highly skilled at what she does, and is always studying and learning. I love the genuine curiosity and enthusiasm she brings to Counterstrain. I first discovered Counterstrain when I lived in Washington State, where it is practiced more widely. As someone with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome who has lived with significant back and body pain, I have found it extraordinarily effective. It is a modality that seems almost magical in its ability to be effective where other modalities fail, and incredibly gentle. For me, it has been especially powerful in conjunction with good chiropractic care. I really do want to shout it from the rooftops: try Counterstrain, people! It is so effective and far too few people are experiencing its benefits, especially here in the Bay Area. And I feel so fortunate to have found Nobuko. She is a gem and I can't recommend her--or this work--more highly.

From our very first interaction and assessment, to our now sessions that have gone virtual, Bettina continues to impress me with her vast knowledge and creative techniques which has translated to immense improvements for our daughter. Bettina also provides a holistic perspective and keeps in mind my daughter's other occupational and physical therapeutic needs, as well as her speech/language goals. Even in this chaotic time of COVID, Bettina has gone the extra mile to make her sessions with my daughter fun and engaging. As an example, she keeps my 4 year old child 100% engaged in virtual sessions for 45 mins straight. Those of you with children (with or without IEPs) understand that this is a near impossible task that Bettina manages to handle with ease....but the truth is that Bettina spends a lot of time thinking of creative ways to keep her engaged! Additionally, our family has always felt incredibly supported by Bettina as we navigate the IEP system. She has taken the time to train my nanny as well as provide exercises for us to do at home. Finally, my daughter absolutely ADORES Bettina and looks forward to 'play' time with her each and every week. If that isn't the greatest endorsement, I don't know what is!
