At last I am sitting down to write this long overdue review for Bettina. We have been working with…read moreBettina since my daughter has been 22 months old, and she is now 4.5 years old. From our very first interaction and assessment, to our now sessions that have gone virtual, Bettina continues to impress me with her vast knowledge and creative techniques which has translated to immense improvements for our daughter. Bettina also provides a holistic perspective and keeps in mind my daughter's other occupational and physical therapeutic needs, as well as her speech/language goals. Even in this chaotic time of COVID, Bettina has gone the extra mile to make her sessions with my daughter fun and engaging. As an example, she keeps my 4 year old child 100% engaged in virtual sessions for 45 mins straight. Those of you with children (with or without IEPs) understand that this is a near impossible task that Bettina manages to handle with ease....but the truth is that Bettina spends a lot of time thinking of creative ways to keep her engaged! Additionally, our family has always felt incredibly supported by Bettina as we navigate the IEP system. She has taken the time to train my nanny as well as provide exercises for us to do at home. Finally, my daughter absolutely ADORES Bettina and looks forward to 'play' time with her each and every week. If that isn't the greatest endorsement, I don't know what is! Thank you so much Bettina!!

I was sadly unimpressed by Oak Bloom OT. We took my 3yo for an based on a recommendation from…read more school and were able to get an appt the next week with a very new OT (less than a year in practice). She was friendly but when we arrived she immediately said, bye to me and asked me to wait outside. I felt this was very strange and since being at a new OT center, have learned it is not typical to separate a young child (3yo) from their caregiver right from the start. However, I stayed outside and felt my son was safe there. When we met to discuss her findings the meeting was just a disaster. She had nothing prepared, she just read from her clinical notes (which we had already seen), didn't go over the sensory profile results, couldn't give a straight answer on anything we asked, and we ended up having to lead the meeting and set next steps. We changed OTs that afternoon. I understand being new in the health care field, as I have been there myself. But with proper oversight these kind of meetings that completely destroy any trust or confidence that was built can be avoided. A few more practical items: - parking is on the street which is fairly easy in the mornings - the stairwell to get up to the office is very narrow and dark, and my son immediately was like, uh no. - they won't provide any ICD coding (even functional) so you can't submit for insurance reimbursement. Overall it was a waste of money for us, unfortunately. I'm very glad other parents have had so much better experiences for their little ones!

You can tell in the cohesion and harmony that fills the space. I definitely recommend this place and thank God that my dad is here in good hands, as he was previously somewhere where there was neglect of care, being supported when I am not able to. Shout out to Michelle supervisor, Sara the director , Prince the nurse, Joyce as well especially.. the nice nurse who trims my dads beard , he was big on that when he could do it himself and all the other staff there are so many buffet cultures and backgrounds here which is important for me as a first gen Eritrean- American. There are nurses who talk to him in his language , they are indeed very international. Sincerely, ~ Daughter of Hagos

The nurses and CNAs were patient, responsive, and always willing to explain things clearly. You can tell they work as a team and take pride in what they do. The therapy team was especially impressive--motivating, knowledgeable, and focused on real progress while still being compassionate. The facility itself was clean and well-maintained, and communication with staff and case management was smooth and transparent throughout the stay. It made a big difference knowing our loved one was in good hands. No place is perfect, but West Shore Post-Acute goes above and beyond where it counts: care, professionalism, and respect. We're very grateful for the support and would absolutely recommend this facility to anyone needing post-acute or rehab care.

Nobuko is clearly very knowledgeable about the body and honest about any limits with the treatments. I've been feeling better after working with Nobuko for counterstrain after a short time. Apparently, there are very few providers (outside of DO doctors) that do this work. A plus is that she is also a trained OT, so she brings a really unique perspective to her work. Nobuko is a gem and I highly recommend giving her a try if you're experiencing pain!

It took many sessions because there was a ton of damage all over my body, but eventually I could tell we were working on older damage predating the accident by 30 years. (That was from a karate injury that never healed properly.) She fixed it all. My doctors had nothing for me, and left me trapped in a broken body. She gave me my body back. I will always be grateful for the work she has done. My only issue was that the office in Oakland is not handicapped accessible, I had to climb up and down a fairly long staircase. It meant I had to park close by because I couldn't take my walker with me because there was no place to leave it. That was handled by having morning appointments. If I got there by 10, street parking in front of the building was never a problem. All in all I cannot express how greatly her work has impacted my life. She is gentle, knowledgeable, and incredibly good at what she does. I highly recommend her services!
