We have shopped here many times. Valerie was thoughtful today in pointing out a few things. We have dealt with David, the owner who was always accommodating. I am surprised at some of the low reviews. The clothes are good quality and a lot of unique things. Prices may be higher than discount stores. There is always a sales rack that we have used. We were there when it opened today and got two from the sales rack and one from inside. Valerie wrapped the one for the shower gift and the other two are going to our granddaughter! I always walked past this store and was always mesmerized with their cute baby clothes. As one of my friends were having a baby shower, I thought I I had to stop by here. My husband and two kids came in with me. My 6- year-old daughter sat on a big stuffed animal right by the cashier (which at first I thought was a children sofa). The older gentlemen yelled, "Get up! Don't sit on the stuffed animal!" I was shocked that he yelled at her like that. I just froze! I feel he could have approach that situation in many different ways. Soon afterwards, he was showing me some merchandise and then said he said something more in the back. But then he just awkwardly stood there. So after all this weird experience, we just left. I told my daughter she didn't do anything wrong, as she looked like she was about to cry. I have no intentions in going there again. read more

My boyfriend and I needed a gift for a baby shower and I thought this would be the perfect place (I love to SHOP LOCAL!). We got there half an hour before the listed hours on Yelp and the door was locked! We peered in and could see a woman at the registers, and after some loud (but polite) knocking, she came to the door and griped a bit, but let us in.... gee, thanks??? She ended up being a little helpful, suggesting a 6mo old size outfit to make sure it fits eventually, and I picked out a cute little outfit. When the lady rung us up, she mentioned the price to us - $65 + tax and asked if we still wanted it. I don't know if we looked poor or if she knew that was outrageous for the outfit (yes, it was absolutely wayyy too expensive). But, the shower was in two hours, so we didn't have much of a choice. After tax, this thing was more than $70 for something that couldn't have cost more than $20 and that's being generous. I was actually a little bit angry and I'm sure my face said it all. We asked for a gift receipt (nope - they don't have those) and there are signs posted everywhere that they won't issue refunds, only store credits. Even though it took her almost five minutes to wrap this thing up (tissue paper in a bag with two strings of ribbon), I actually felt bad for this lady and kind of liked her. She seemed sweet enough, but clearly the owner is out of his mind charging these kinds of prices for what it is. If he had been there, I would have talked to him about it. Maybe I'm biased because my family owns a shop on the street where we try to have MORE sales by maintaining competitive and reasonable pricing. The philosophy at Baby Boomers must be less sales and higher pricing. It's the kind of thing that drives me nuts about the "ma and pa" stores and gives the rest of us a bad image :( You can be fairly priced, with the same feel people love and still be a successful business owner. Sure, you can call it a cute store, but having a kid is expensive enough, let's not layer it on with overpriced clothes that are probably purchased at Target. I will never shop here again (I felt totally taken advantage of) and if I am ever myself blessed enough to have a baby shower, I would be upset if a gift came from this place - I can't support a store like this - I'd go BROKE. read more

He's not one to look at the price tags so after he picked up a coat and a dress (both extremely adorable) and went to check out, I was floored when I heard the owner say $86.00... what the heck!? The person that worked there, a man probably in his late 40s was so pushy. I needed another size outfit and he said he has it in the back. Without letting me see it, he put it in the bag already. So I went up to the counter and asked to see it. I felt uncomfortable having to ask. I was discussing with my friend about dresses there and he interjected with his "opinion." He gave off this car salesman vibe like he was trying to rush me so I would just buy things and not think it through. This boutique is way overpriced to not let me think things through. He said he gave me a discount, but when he rang me up, there wasn't a discount. Terrible. I feel sorry for him. He must be so desperate to not give me the $1.98 off he said he was going to give me. Went to Baby Boomers with child and was followed around by owner trying to sell me everything. That being said I bought five outfits, two were on sale supposedly. He rang me up at cash register I signed credit card receipt and left. When I got home I noticed owner had taken all tags off of the clothing and there was no itemized receipt whatsoever. I live in Thousand Oaks and I drive down to shop or I call the manager and tell him what I am looking for and he will pick out the clothes and ship them for me. My friend and I wanted to browse and look around. But he was like a used car salesman trying to tell my friend what she needed to buy for her baby and pressuring her. This store has the cutest baby and children's clothes (to size 7). We visit Seal Beach every summer and I always buy all my kids' outfits here. Unfortunately my oldest is outgrowing their sizes so my shopping here will be limited (I guess that's good for my wallet!) The owner is very friendly and helpful and makes sure you find exactly what you are looking for (and then some). The only reason I marked this store a 4 instead of a 5 is the pricing is a bit steep. While they carry designer brands that typically run on the high end average, some of the brands are marked up beyond standard retail prices. i love shopping here because of the wide selection and unique clothing so don't mind paying a little more but it's an expensive store to visit habitually! read more

OMG! Absolutely the MOST adorable baby/children's outfits anywhere! The outfits have little shoes and hats to match. It's very difficult to find cute clothes for boys, but not here. He has just as many boy clothes as girl clothes. They go up to size 10.. The friendly owner said that he gets these clothes from New York. I've never seen such incredible outfits. One of the outfits is a little "Charlie Harper", that is a miniature of the real thing. We started going here about 14 years ago. Our boys were the best dressed whenever we had them in any clothes from here. We went there today to see if things were just as impressive and the owner was just as friendly and helpful as we remembered. He even remembered our names. You just have to look in the window to get the idea of what's inside. LOVE this place and the owner! Your baby shower gift will be the cutest one at the party. read more

Cute store, but the selection for infants under six months was very limited. It was also pretty expensive, but high quality so I suppose you get what you pay for. We found a cute pair of PJ's for our four year old. If we are ever in the Seal Beach area again we will be back. read more

I would NEVER come here again. Our little guy accidentally dripped some milk in the store and we apologized but as we were walking out of the store the guy started to curse out loud!!! I was with my baby so i didn't say much but it is extremely unprofessional and I would not recommend anyone to visit this place!!! As for their products, it's nothing special. I found many other shops on the same street with better quality and much better service and super friendly. I've been there before. The guy must be the owner. The first time I went he walked me around and almost tried to choose my gift. He didn't let me shop by myself nor want me to touch anything. He acted like he was having an anxiety attack. The next time I went I told him I was just looking around. He said something and ignored my good-bye. Then I went last week. I bought three outfits. When he rang up my total I knew he over charged me. My bag was in my hand and he was saying good bye. He gave me a receipt that listed the total amount. I asked him if he could give me an itemized receipt. That's when he said I was "smart". He THEN said he over charged me $30. What kind of robbery or credit card theft just happened? This is a story about a man. A man, who, upon being a first-time uncle, and having dog-walked past this store hundreds of times, entered one day in search of a suitable gift for his 3-mo-old nephew. His errands were conducted out of the sequence he'd stipulated to me. I've accompanied him on said dog walks many a time, if not most. As it turns out, I was perusing reviews of this place online at home, ill, whilst he was seeking his objective. I had told him, 'do not pay above XX amount of dollars for an outfit or onesie' before he left. The reviews here are not exactly positive when it comes to conveying the proprietor's standard approach to new customers, nor the price point of the product(s). I messaged the man a potential alternate in which to shop, just as he was leaving, as it turns out. He'd entered. Begun browsing. Experienced that which several other reviewers have described, and about which I'd messaged, employing use of the term "pushy." We both fervently believe in support of local, individually-owned-and-operated business. We're also pragmatically oriented. We, as evident as this may be, dear reader, are not "Baby Boomers." No. Those, in fact, are our parents. My life partner indicated that he was overwhelmed, and expressed his desire to simply browse. We may be in mid-life, but, we have both been engaged by the outfits on display in this shop's window; ironic, whimsical, cute, sometimes offensive, usually not: this is the *kind of* place we enjoy shopping in. After a beat or a few, our man outlined to the shopkeeper his experience and that which he sought. The proprietor ceased the previous emphasis on 'beachy-keen' type apparel, instead coming alongside in encouragement and assistance to the selection process. Perhaps recognizing the forceful hold life-long bachelorhood still retains on our protagonist when it comes to the acquisition of new skill sets or the gaining of uncharted knowledge--or perhaps not--this shop's keeper rose to heights of service previously unrevealed in customer reviews. No; no gift had been conferred upon the brother's new family. Upon hearing this, not only did the now presumedly earnest proprietor discount both the Onesie and Jumpsuit+hat combo, but culminated the transaction by wrapping them celebratorily, extemporaneously pointing to a wee vintage-looking plush toy on display over our new uncle's shoulder with which to decorously adorn the gift package.
