WORST CAKE EVER!!! I ordered my mother's 80th birthday cake 7 years ago from what used to be a phenomenal bakery. Now living out of state, I ordered a birthday cake for both of my grandchildren that were turning one year old. WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT! Not only did it look like a 5-year-old had made it, but the cake was pretty much inedible. Bits of salt and/or baking soda not mixed into the batter properly and basically just horrible. My daughter-in-law tried to fix it up to look more presentable, but unfortunately, that did not fix the cake itself. I emailed the bakery and received a reply about how the decorator looks at the written notes, and then determines how to decorate. She went on and on about that, as if perhaps it was MY FAULT for not communicating exactly what I wanted. There was no explanation as to why the cake the was so bad, but of course you CANNOT DEFEND POOR QUALITY. The owner also stated that of the 60 customers they serve every weekend, only one is dissatisfied. I think not. Read the rest of the reviews. For almost $60 bucks, I could have easily ordered a grocery store cake for much less money, that at least tasted and looked better. These people are SUPPOSED TO BE PROFESSIONALS! I think not! And for all of the "nice girls" at the front and answering the phones, I would advise you to seek out other employment. Your sweet demeanor is not going to save this place. Reputation is everything, and this company's reputation is quickly being flushed down the toilet. My husband ordered a cake for my birthday. He asked for 3 specifics and sadly that didn't happen. White cake...it was a yellow sponge type cake, no fondant...it had a big slab of fondant on the top of the cake, and all buttercream frosting. Well the buttercream is really good but I had to scrape off the fondant which left not much on top. It's an 8" round cake that cost $70.! I'm really not sure why it was so expensive. This is a mixed review. I'll start with the positive: We had a great experience w/ our cake tasting. The staff, especially Emily, were very nice and helpful. The pricing was reasonable and we did get a military discount. I had a discount coupon from the Bridal expo also but they could only apply one. All the cakes/cupcakes tasted great. They did a great job on the camo/flag cake. Negative: I had 2 separate orders that were being delivered together to the same place. I explained extensively that one cake was for the dinner on the day of delivery; the wedding cake and cupcakes were for the NEXT day that would be transported and set up by us. I was very disappointed that the ladies showed up expecting to set up our wedding cake and cupcakes all at the same time on the day of delivery. My wedding cake didn't have a box or anything to cover it over night. It was only a 6" cake, so not that difficult to do. My MIL had to hold the wedding cake in her lap with nothing to protect it or her clothes all the way to the wedding venue the next day. They both made it w/o incident but the trip was much more tense than it should've been. As an added disappointment, it wasn't decorated the way I specified. read more

I called Baker Wee about a week before Mother's Day. I asked the woman that answered if they sold Cannoli, she said we sure do! I told her that I needed to buy some for Mother's Day and would come in on Saturday (assuming they'd be closed Sunday) she said actually we're open on Mother's Day, I said great! Show up Sunday morning about a half hour after they open only to be told they were out of the filling. We were having Italian for dinner and that's specifically why I asked about the Connoli. The person on the phone should have said we have them as long as we have the filling. I wanted a non-fondant cake for my sons birthday so I went to Baker Wee for the convenience of it. I have to say this cake was nothing better than Costco's and for double the price. Baker Wee is awesome. A couple years ago, my husband's one birthday wish was for a birthday cake. Simple enough, you'd think, but he was diabetic and it was a task to locate and choose a bakery that makes custom sugar-free cakes. I'm sure glad I found Baker Wee! The cake was good, but had that sugar-free taste (which was fine and kind of expected). I've returned a couple times and each cake has been just as good. The last time I picked up a cake, they asked me how much I was quoted when I placed the order. I wasn't quoted a price and told him so. Baker Wee ruined my wife's birthday! Did you know that their cakes are three days old when you pick them up according to owner, Sienna? My wife and I have limited time together for her birthday which I took off of work for and Baker Wee has now ruined it. I called them because I just picked up a cake for my wife's birthday today to enjoy quickly before she goes out of town for five days. I brought it home, put candles on it quickly and we tried to cut it... TRIED! It's frozen! It came out in frozen chunks when we got a knife through it. Sienna's fix was for us to drive the pieces of the cake all the way back and they'll make a new one after explaining it takes three days to make it, first day to bake the cake, then cool, then set the frosting and a third day to decorate it. Had no idea we were buying a three day old cake or we wouldn't have paid $50 for it knowing it will be trashed before she gets home from her trip. Sienna said the cakes had to be moved Sunday and she thinks someone accidentally put it in the walk in freezer instead of walk in cooler. She admits the mistake but doesn't seem to care she ruined my wife's birthday so we will never be returning!!!! No refund for ruining the birthday cake - nothing! Very embarrassed to have this cake at my baby shower. My husband first picked up the cake and the name was spelt wrong. He brought the cake home and the camo duck that cost extra was only about 2inches on a 12 in size cake. They wrote the name on the board of the cake instead of around the cake in fondont like requested. They put the sign on top of the cake instead of stick out of the bottom as requested. I called them immediately after the cake was brought home the 2nd time with 2 hours until the party and the manager said she saw the cake before it left and agreed it looked plain as the main part of the cake the camo duck was super small. The cake was brought back the 2nd time and the now bigger camo duck looked rushed was half painted half cracked fondant. The name now on around the cake the letters started falling off and it came back looking even worse. They finished the cake early and it was brought back with 2 hours to fix all there mistakes and they fixed everything in under 10 minutes and rushed instead of dealing with everything they messed up the right way. A cake that feeds less than 20 people for $70 and was completely messed up not worth it. read more

Best. Bakery. Ever. I have to drive over 40 minutes to get here, but it's 100% worth it. I hired Baker Wee to bake my wedding cake last year (it turned out beautiful AND delicious), and I just received my free anniversary cake from them this year. Even though the cake was free, they didn't skimp - they asked me what flavors I wanted, how we wanted it decorated, etc....and the cake was a decent size (enough to feed a small family)! The pastries were surprisingly good since the place looks terrible. It's very dirty feeling and old looking in the inside. Not inviting at all. If this place had a face lift it would attract more people. There is just junk exposed all over and the menu is very small. The tables were old and dirty. I bought the eclair and what is their version of the Hostess Cupcake. Both were beautiful and look like they would be heaven to eat. I was even more excited when I asked the guy behind the counter if the eclair was filled with real custard and he said yes it was. Unfortunately, when I cut into the eclair, I could see the filling was not real custard (was a heavier, creamier filling ) and there was way too much chocolate frosting (a half an inch thick!) that overtook the flavor of the whole eclair. Don't get me wrong, my family and I still ate it, and it was good, but it wasn't a true heaven-on-earth eclair. And then I cut into the cupcake. It was completely dry and crumbly in the inside, as if it was a month old. It even tasted old. So disappointing. I had wanted them to put gold glitter on the graduation fondant cap and they only put regular glitter that you can barley see.... also the base that holds the cake I wanted that to be gold and it was white with glitter..Lastly I had showed them a picture I wanted a fondant diploma and it was just a regular small paper one. My daughter buys me several of Baker Wee Fruit cakes for Christmas. would eat them all year around if they made them. I have had both, with and without the nuts. At my age and given my medical problems. The one without the nuts is the best. When I could eat nuts freely, I would have said the one with the nuts, but age has taken its toll.
