Honestly, this is the best haircut my son has had in a very long time! He has stubborn cowlicks and course hair that grow forward, and Jacob was able to tame his beast of a hair lol. Seriously though, Jacob is wonderful. He is meticulous with his service. He really evaluates your hair and listens to your requests. He is pricier than a regular barber, but his price is comparable to any salon in Pasadena. Best thing is he's easy to work with and has later hours! Very clean too! He is an independent stylist inside the 1202 salon and spa. The salon is located inside The Colonnade on Shopper's Lane. His place is in the first floor past the central indoor fountain. Jacob is great and we are definitely coming back to him. I loved my son's cut so much that I even asked him to give me a simple trim! When I arrived, Jacob was finishing up with another customer. As I approached, he saw the bag and asked if I was donating to confirm. He then told me usually he cuts hair by lengths, and I would have usually been a longer hair client. After finding out I was donating though, he said he would give me a discount of cutting it for the medium length price. I thought that was really nice of him! Jacob first proceeded to cut the long parts of my hair into ponytails and safely put them to the side, so that I can bundle them into the bag I brought. Originally, I wanted to go to the other extreme of going buzzed. Jacob kindly suggested that it likely won't be the best look and that we could go with a medium cut. Having not cut my hair in over 3 years, I was nervous. He told me jokingly that he was as well. Jacob put me at ease and cut my hair very confidently. I missed getting haircuts, and Jacob reminded me the type of care a person who is great at their job can do. At the end of it, I couldn't recognize myself. I'm extremely happy with my cut and do plan on coming back again when I more regularly get my hair cut! read more

This is my third barber that I tried out this year and I must say Jacob was the best amongst them all. I'm an introvert person so I don't like getting haircuts frequently but Jacob made my experience a good one. The environment in the salon was very clean, chill and not loud which I appreciated. I found Jacob via Yelp as well back when he was at a different salon. The first haircut I ever got from him was right before my wedding. Yes it was a risk because you never know how your hair will turn out when you go to someone new. But, he cut my hair perfectly! I have been going to him ever since. I wasn't happy with my cut at all. Jay was my barber and I think he messed up halfway through, which is why he took so long on my hair even though I asked him only to cut the sides. He ended up cutting the top and thinning my hair with thinning sheers to try to fix it. My hair is all uneven again. I have to wait a couple months to even out my hair once again. It's nice to feel special. I spent a gold amount of time looking for a proper men's salon. The excellent reviews here are what brought me in. It was clear Jacob is focused and cares about the cut. Every move seemed meticulous, I felt like a bonsai tree being gently pruned. There was that much thought into each snip. The whole experience was incredibly relaxing and never felt rushed.
