I found this dealership on the Chase app looking for a car. They had a BMW that was advertised for…read more$20,000. I walked in and was assisted by Ray G. I asked if they had the specific bmw for $20k. He said yes. I explained I was an inexperienced driver that needed a car suddenly and my mother would be co-signing the car for me even though she was not with me. He writes the dollar amount $26 k on the paperwork and asked me to sign. I asked him why the price was different and he said closing costs. He told me I would be paying $674 for 42 months (a little over 3 years). I agreed. They told me the cost of the payment would go up significantly if I used my name and I should just use my mother's name only. I said ok. Later he tells me their printer is down and he offered to drive with me to my mother's house (122 miles away) for her to physically sign the paperwork so he can release the keys to me. While at her home, she asked how much the car was and I said 20k and Ray said 26. I then said right, because of closing costs. She signs. We leave my mother's home and he drives the car to my address (another 84 miles) and park. He said he had to wait until his boss got him an uber to his home. I invited him upstairs and sat with him in the living room. He was there for about 20 minutes because he could not get in touch with his manager. At this time its after midnight. While in the car I asked about a low battery notification and he said it was fine. There were so many things wrong with this process that I and my mother were unaware of because we both had no experience buying cars from a dealership. Ray and the dealership agreed to hold my plates upon arrival so I wouldn't have to pick it up at my mother's home and it would take 30-45 days to process. I was also told the dealership would reach out to me. 29 days after purchasing the car Ray tells me he no longer works with the dealership. I had been contacting him about getting gap insurance for the car for almost 2 weeks prior. The following day my mother received a notification from Experian for a $45K loan Apparently Ray had my mother sign a blank agreement and added an extra $20k on the car. We tried to return the car and were told there is no window of return even though that was exactly 30 days from the purchase date. 16 days later (1 day outside of the 45 day expected processing time for the license plates) I was pulled over by the State Police on my way to work because my temporary license plate was in the window (incorrect placement). The Police told me the license plate I had (the one given to me at the dealership) was only meant for dealerships/commercial use and not personal. Ray had given me a paper to keep in the glove compartment in the event I was asked for registration. The Police told me it was an in-transit paper for transporting cars from one place to another. For these reasons they impounded the car and also gave me tickets. 2 days later I was told they would not assist because my mother told them she plans to sue. 6 months later I got my car checked and was told that battery notification I saw on the car when I first got it was serious and I should check if I'm covered with the dealership. They said I would not be covered. I've only had the car for 6 months and they resolved nothing. This was a horrible experience and none of the many individuals I spoke with (some of them Erik, Aron, Yvonne) offered no help. I was even told they would send a check for a few payments as a sorry and they never got back to me. They get your money and tell you anything to leave and you have to almost harass them for them to tell you they actually cannot assist. I've worked in customer service/sales for over a decade. I have never seen a case where an employee that gets fired is found to have screwed over customers to this extreme and they do nothing at all. Learn from my experience and do not patron this business. Let me add my mother has perfect credit which is why I thought it best to have her help me.

Funny thing is I went to buy 2 more cars that same day and was waiting on a manager. I got disgusted and just walked out. I've heard other customers complain about her before both men and women but never put too much thought into it.

When I got there I noticed…read morethat the vehicles check engine light was on, the "salesman" (Mark) told me that they had just gotten the vehicle two days ago and didn't have a chance to get to it yet. The Carfax that I had reviewed indicated that the vehicle was put up for sale by Champion Auto Sales on December 23, 2020, so that turned out to be a lie. From the salesman's approach and demeanor I began to get suspicious. To make matters worse, during the back and forth conversation about the vehicle, Mark the "salesman" asked if I was familiar with Washington Heights. I told him that I was and he proceeded to ask me if I could drop him off in Washington Heights! I was shocked at his unprofessional attitude and told him no. He then had the nerve to ask me "why not". I told him "number one, I came here to look at a vehicle and number two I'm not going that way." Needless to say, I left right after that as it was a Sunday and they were close to closing time. However, before I left he took down my name, which by the way he asked me for my name at least five times during the course of our conversation and took my number and said that he would call me the next day (Monday). He never made a follow up phone cal and I am really thankful for that because once I left Champion Auto Sales I decided that I would not be doing any business at that establishment. The "salesman's" approach and attitude left me with a bad gut feeling. Everything worked out for the best because the very next day I purchased the same make, year and model of the vehicle that I had gone to Champion Auto Sales to look at and paid $15 more for a vehicle with 20,000 less miles and looks way better than the vehicle at Champion Auto Sales. To be foretold is to be forewarned.

My response was why take my info electronically if you can't give me an answer electronically? It's at least an hour drive each way. Delete my info. Crickets... Get a call this evening from a guy who says he's the sales manager who rather than make a sale with me he just argued with me while I'm trying to eat dinner. Personally I'm not interested in any of his cars, but I need one and I need to know where I can get financed. I understand in the world of car buying they always want a car then an approval but I was told they already have my approval. (Not pre-approval not soft approval but approval) I would have gladly given him my biz today and he could have made a solid sale no haggle sale from me immediately. I literally need a car this weekend, had he not cut me off and argue with me about why was I looking for a car if I didn't want his cars blah blah blah. Clearly I'm interested in financing first and foremost that's been explained from the beginning. Listening is important when you ask questions if you want the answer. All the SUVs that would work for me in my low end price range are Mercedes oddly. Personally I do not want a Mercedes. I just want a Toyota something I can get a little dirty and off-road a little with the dogs. I need a car badly but I'm not going to trust these guys when after multiple people contacting me and none of them are nice only fake nice. What could have been an almost instant sale Instead of saying sorry maybe the guy sending me the text made a mistake and should have said pre-approval but I am here to help you.....he rudely cuts me off every time I tried to speak to remind me he's the sales manager and argue with me. Yea, not gonna trust these guys with a bunch of 1 star reviews and a bad attitude towards customers. Glad they showed me their true colors sooner rather than later.

The mechanic said both a new transmission, and labor would cost me 3,000 each. Not having a heavy budget, a relative recommended CARVANA. When I read their offers, I felt excited. I filled-out and submitted all the documents and photos th requested. Many times I would not hear from them for weeks. During this process, I would remind them that the vehicle needed the transmission replaced. When I would call, they would request that I send documents I already submitted. Finally, in early June, 2022, I received an e-mail stating that I've been approved, and to drive my disabled vehicle to Greenwich Connecticut, where I will receive a check. AGAIN, I called, and REPEATED to the rep, "I NEED A TOLL TRUCK!!!" I even asked the rep if I can hire my own tow truck to drop off the vehicle to them. The rep replied, "YOU MEAN YOUR CAR DOES NOT RUN?" I replied, YES!!!! I'VE BEEN TELLING YOU THIS SINCE I STARTED!!!" The rep put me on hold, and went to speak with his higher-ups. After a 15 minute wait, the rep returns to tell me that CARVANA will not accept my vehicle. After listening and reading so many advertisements about this company, and how they take any car at ANY CONDITION, it's a lie!!!! After a week of researching, I came across CASH for CARS. After careful review, I decided to try them. WHAT A QUICK TURN-AROUND!!! 15 minutes after completing an online application, I receive a call from Ralph Milone. Mr. Milone was so professional in describing the procedure. He asked basic questions about the vehicle, and I explained the situation. Mr. Milone kept the promise of the company. "WE TAKE ANY VEHICLE, RUNNING OR NOT!!!" It went so smoothly, that Mr. Malone wanted to schedule a pick-up the very next day. I told him to give me an xtra day so I can prepare the paper-work. Mr. Malone and I agreed on pick-up the following day, and sure enough, the flat bed truck was there on time, picked-up the signed TITLE, and other docs, handed me a paper check, and the rest is history. Thank you Mr. Milone, and Cash for Cars, for your swift and professional response. God bless!!!
