It was a Friday, around 5:30p & the place was packed. Mixed crowd of your happy hour blue collar workers; older, borderline elderly adults; and college age kids--this diversity is the testament of a cool, friendly place. Bartender--who was supposed to have been gone already--came over to get us drinks before the server could get over; that was outstanding. Both were friendly amongst the chaotically-busy time. Food came very quickly and it was great!! Asked for Orings extra crispy & my feeling is their "normal" is crispy-to-very crispy. They were amaze ballz!! I had a couple large mugs of cold draft beer & loved our burgers. I hate giving places like this great reviews, cuz I wanna keep it a sorta secret---worth it to share. I love this place! I moved out of Lansing long before the current owners had this place. It's out of the way, off the beaten path, and some may think that it looks like a place they would never go into... sucks for them!! I love the "vintage" atmosphere, the friendly people on the bar, the pretzel rods and beer cheese are incredible! The burger and onion rings are top notch, and I am told they have some of the best tacos in town! I hope to find out this week, when I take the whole family! They also had a good beer selection for a "dive-bar" as well as a pool table in the back. This place is great!! Thank you so much! read more

Tiny little Dive bar with GREAT food (love the fish fry on fridays) but the deep fried burrito is amazing too. Well shoot, who am I kidding EVERYTHING is fantastic. It's clear the kitchen takes pride in their food and the staff is fantastic. Bartenders are all great and guaranteed to put a smile on your face. I have a great time everytime I stop in. Favorite dive in Lansing area. Grungy looking, with an old jukebox and a pool table. A couple of TVs on the walls, lots of 'stuff'. The food is pretty awesome. Not all of it is great (e.g., hamburgers), but some of is awesome. My favorites are the wet burrito, the pork rinds, several of the Thursday specials, and the Wednesday tacos. Don't be shy going off the "main road" to visit this place. Great for pre- and post-game drinks, etc if you're in for hockey at the Summit Sportsplex. Great (and if you're from a big city, I mean really great) prices. I was expecting to cringe as I went into this dive bar; but, the staff and local patrons were friendly, had some fun conversation and we really enjoyed ourselves. I think they also open even earlier than the posted hours. I want to say we got there at 9am on a weekend day for hockey. read more

If you've ever wondered what ever happened to all the cool old 80s beer signs and mirrors, look no further than the B&I. This is an out of the way hole in the wall. I am not going to use the all too frequently misused term "dive". I prefer the term hole in the wall. Great place for a few cold beers in a run down, unpretentious atmosphere. read more
