All for $14 which is a really good deal. The chicken was some of the best chicken I've had ever, it was drenched in their bbq sauce which I love, the Caesar was a good portion size and onion rings were crisp. There was a lot of TVs in the bar to watch sports, and had many great deals for food as well, highly recommended coming to eat here. I will be back

Anyway, I ordered a large beer and a 10 piece wings. Both were very reasonably priced and our server let me choose two sauces for my wings, Mango Habanero and Boom Boom. The wings were very good. Our server seemed irritated the whole time, which kind of brought the mood down, but food was good. Definitely didn't stay for more drinks due to the drab atmosphere. Solid food, though.

We were looking for a spot that was open on Thanksgiving Day to watch the Lions game and after…read morecalling a few other spots with no luck, Stober's answered! We walked in and were greeted with a long communal table all set up with a tablecloth - they do a Thanksgiving potluck each year and there were a ton of people there already. We luckily got a booth with some good views of the few TVs they have and the crowd was friendly and all decked out in Lions gear. The bartender was super friendly and let us know that the food would be ready in about an hour. It's free to eat as much as you want, and they had TONS of food, including at least 3 turkeys, lots of sides, desserts, and it looked like they were setting up for a mac and cheese competition. I kept saying how nice it was to have this spot for the community and it really felt very welcoming. I love the ornate bar, with the stained glass and big wooden griffins (we think they're griffins anyway). It's such a cool place and if I lived nearby I think I'd want to be a regular here. It's always nice to feel welcomed in a townie bar like this and I think we have a new Thanksgiving tradition!

After they finally re‑entered it, we waited another full hour with zero communication from anyone on staff. Not once did anyone check on us, offer water, or even acknowledge the delay. On top of that, I watched customers walking behind the bar and hugging on the bartender like it was a private hangout instead of a place of business. Meanwhile, paying customers (us) were left waiting and ignored. This experience was unprofessional, unorganized, and honestly unacceptable. I won't be returning.

While hosting family visiting from New Jersey, we spent part of the afternoon enjoying an activity…read morealong the river in downtown Lansing. About halfway through, everyone started getting hungry, so I asked my sister-in-law to pick a restaurant in Old Town that looked appealing. She chose Zoobie's because she thought she had seen it featured on a Food Network show, and the menu looked diverse enough that everyone in our group would find something they liked. Being from New Jersey, my sister-in-law firmly believes there is no good pizza outside of New Jersey or New York. Well, Zoobie's proved that great pizza can be found anywhere. I ordered the pear pizza without the meat, and it was absolutely delicious. The flavors worked perfectly together, and I never felt like I was missing anything by skipping the meat. My sisters each ordered different pizzas and thoroughly enjoyed them, while my nephew had a burger that disappeared quickly, which is always a good sign. My wife ordered the bruschetta and spoke so highly of it that I had to try some myself. She was right, it was delightful. Another pleasant surprise was the atmosphere. The restaurant was quite busy, with a full bar and a group celebrating some kind of event, yet the noise level remained very manageable. As someone who is sensitive to loud environments, that can make or break a dining experience, and Zoobie's got it right. For context, we visited on a weekday around 2:00 PM, so that certainly may have contributed to the comfortable atmosphere. Still, every aspect of our visit exceeded expectations. Great food, attentive service, a welcoming environment, and perhaps most impressively, pizza that won over a skeptic from New Jersey. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in Old Town Lansing.
