I've always liked going to this bar, it's exactly what you want in a small location. Dim lighting and good ambiance. The bartenders were very nice, and the drinks cold! I ordered a pint with a whiskey back, but the waitress had never heard of a whiskey back. She was younger, so I'm guessing this is an old timers drink order. Overall definitely check this place out! read more

Great local bar that has the look of a sidecar or train style diner crosser with an opulent 1920's speak easy. The wooden shelving for all the liquor is reminiscent of old western saloons. The granite countertops are as functional as they are decorative while the corrugated metal under the bar provides stable support for the stone slab. The night I visited had a mixed crowd of older and younger people- please like my review if this helps you! The bartender's work shirt was amusing "bartenders are gods." So the waitstaff just walked up with an order of food, a brisket sandwich and a brisket basket. Woo and the foo looks good too. Update: apparently the food comes from the saddleback restaurant next door. They close at 7ish so if you are at the bar you can stop by and they will bring your food to you at the bar! read more

What's not to love about this pub? The bartenders are cool, the cocktails are delicious, there's a good amount of tv's, and the patio is beautifully maintained. This place is definitely where everyone knows your name, most of the patrons are regulars. On Wednesdays they do a steak night where the owner fires up steak and potatoes for $10 with a two drink minimum.... not too shabby. There is also a bbq place next door that will walk food over for you in case you are hungry for more than their free popcorn. This is a really great pub in the heart of Reotown with a good vibe. read more

it is a decent bar, though I just grabbed a quick beer. it was nice drinking a beer with the BBQ next door. The bartender kept watching netflix with the sound on for the entire bar to hear. It was strange, and not appreciated by anyone at our table. The Tigers game? sure. Music? Even better. Some crappy recent Adam Sandler movie, perhaps not. i noticed they had a couple interesting bourbons, nothing crazy or really hard to find at a liquor store, but more selection than most. I'd probably go back, but it's not my favorite bar in lansing right now. read more

Inexpensive drinks. Laid back atmosphere. Committed to local businesses (as seen in their partnerships with local breweries and restaurant including their neighbor, Saddleback BBQ). Since moving to Lansing 4 years ago, my colleagues and I often looked for places to go after a long week of teaching and meetings. We found REO Town Pub to be a place to get decent, well priced drinks, order some food (from other places which they encourage because they do not have a kitchen) and stumble into a night where the bartenders have a good 90s R&B/Hip hop playlist going. Last night, however, my colleagues and I had an unsettling experience with one of the bartenders. We walked in, sat and the bar, ordered drinks and listened to the musician who was performing. At the end of his set, we asked Sam (one of the bartenders who was preparing our drink orders) if they could turn on the music again and added, "if he needs help with the playlist, just send him our way." Less than 5 minutes later, Omar approached us and asked what we wanted to hear. We each said "Migos" and was met by a series of questions and puzzled looks ("Three amigos? Amigos? Is that the name of a song or a group? I don't know who that is.") We each tried to respond to his questions in which he interrupted with, "I only understand complete sentences." We stopped talking and I jokingly broke the silence with, "oh no. What? We need an Uber church van. We got to go." His response: "Don't let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya" (first and second mistakes) He then walked away to retrieve his phone/iPad that he was using to play music. When he returned, my friend had pulled up the group and requested song on her phone and showed it to him. His response: "oh these guys. Y'all need to listen to real music." (Third mistake) Sir, we are at a bar, on a random Thursday, celebrating a friend's birthday. No one stops into a bar in Lansing and stays to buy drinks to listen to blues on their birthday. You weren't even playing blues between the musician's set (Aaliyah, TLC, 50 Cent, Biggie). The musician didn't sing any blues all night (interesting renditions of selections from Tom Petty, Stevie Wonder and The Wallflowers...but no blues). We have diverse music tastes (which he erroneously assumed we did not), but we did not want to listen to our usual rotation of artists. He finally played the request but appeared to be upset as he spoke with Sam, another bartender. We tried to enjoy the song, but because my colleagues and I were puzzled and offended by his snarky remarks, we settled our tab, tipped Sam and left. The part that was most concerning is that as 4 of the 6 women of color who were in the bar, we couldn't understand if Omar was usually that condescending towards Black and Latina women or if he was just having a rough night. For a while we stopped going to other bars in Lansing because we liked the bartenders and atmosphere at REO Town Pub. We may have to reconsider our decisions and move our patronage to an establishment with less condescending staff. read more

This is the best spot in Lansing for a beer. Great staff, great atmosphere, you can get food next door brought in (before 7, wish it was later). This has been a fixture of REO town for years for a reason. read more

For just a drink, this place would be fine but we signed up for a beer and bacon pairing, costing $65 for two, and was sadly disappointed. The food was prepared by Saddleback BBQ, next door. The bacon wrapped onion ring was cold. Nothing worse than cold bacon grease. The bacon flavored mussels were room temperature, which concerned me. NO seafood should be served like that. I wouldn't eat it. The stuffed jalapeño was hot and good. Next was a bacon wrapped rib, which was also good. Lastly was a bacon topped sugar cookie which was okay. The whole idea was interesting but not organized. Food was served and eaten before the paired beer was served and the explanation of what we were eating came later. The whole experience was no compliment to Saddleback. The craft beers were mediocre at best. The raspberry wheat was totally flat. Sorry. We will be back to Saddleback, but there are a lot more placed to get a beer. read more

Love this place but certain bartenders get drunk and then try to over charge you for even two drinks ... We go here all the time and we know how much it costs. Its so unprofessional and i cant believe the owners continue letting her bartend there bc if shes stealing from customers better bet shes stealing from the bar too. read more

This is my favorite hometown pub. The atmosphere is fun and very chill at the same time. The drinks, music, events and most of all STAFF are amazing!! Just a very comfy and relaxing vibe. Keep up the good work Reo Town Pub! #reotown read more
