Forced to slow down due to car in front of me, again, in the slow lane. At least the other big rig could pull further forward. Once your logger truck got in the center lane, they continued to drive dangerously close to the other big rig and then pass them when they could all to just head back into the right lane to take the Kalama exit. Had they just stayed in the right lane without tailgating, (for the three miles this all took) they wouldn't have freaked out everyone on the road. They said this was just a standard job to them, but I was in awe of the skill it took to somehow carefully and safely remove these huge bushy giants situated in such a precarious tight space. They arrive before dawn and stay until dark. We and our neighbors are now safe in a storm, and they even included the grinding of all of the stumps to the point that you can hardly tell these trees were ever here. Dorian gave us a quick estimate that was a little lower than we expected/feared and he squeezed us into the schedule to get it done the next day. They are friendly, easy to work with, very careful in their work, and do a great job of cleaning up after the job is done. For the price, we figured they were not grinding the stump based on our experience with other services, but they spent quite a bit of time grinding down the stump and a lot of the big roots that ran out from it. He later said he did a "professional walk-thru", however, he was telling me mostly what I already knew. Upon paying a deposit for work to be done, he tried calling someone to arrange for the work to be done, but had to leave my rural property due to lack of cell phone reception. He later sent a text that the crew would be here at 9 am the next morn. The crew was right on time: Forest Tree services: Victor is crew leader. He promptly verified the work to be done as his 2 crew members began unloading equipment. The 3 worked well together & had the clump of 2 large alders & a big leaf maple cut down & the wood moved to the location I specified in a short 2 hours. Forest Tree services was paid separately from what Robert was paid. He had begun texting me within minutes of Forest Tree services arriving to not talk finances with the crew! Robert was never present during the time the work was being done. When he had been here the previous day, I had asked 2 or 3 times for the senior discount, of which I feel was never given: Robert got way too much $ for simply arranging the work to be done. In the future, I will do business directly with Forest Tree Services.

On the scheduled cleanup day, the contractor arrived punctually, worked for 1.5 hours, and then declared the work complete. Although the area he finished appeared satisfactory, one side of the house and half the driveway were left untouched and strewn with debris. Upon raising this issue, he argued about the scope and tried to upsell to complete the 4th side of the house and the other half of the driveway. I paid the full $250 bid and feel cheated. I'll know who not to call next time the wind blows... UPDATED: Reply to Business Owner Who requests cleanup on only three sides of the house, or only half the driveway? Nobody. Not sure where your head was at but finishing the job in fifteen minutes and receiving a handsome holiday tip would have made a lot more sense than arguing about it with the guy who's about to pay you.
