I am sharing my firsthand experience to help future buyers make an informed decision. I purchased my dog from this kennel on April 27, 2024. At the time of purchase, I was told I was receiving a healthy puppy. Within a few months, in September 2024, my dog began limping intermittently without any known injury. After veterinary evaluation, he was later diagnosed with luxating patella, which multiple veterinarians explained is a genetic orthopedic condition. This diagnosis was confirmed through examinations and X rays, and the condition has progressed from Grade 1-2 to Grade 3-4 despite his young age. Since adoption, I have spent over $10,000 on veterinary care related to this condition. This health issue was not disclosed to me prior to purchase, and I would have made a different decision had I been aware of the risk. In addition to the medical concerns, my dog has exhibited ongoing fear based behaviors since coming home, including anxiety and difficulty with handling, which required professional training support. When I raised concerns and shared veterinary documentation, I did not receive a resolution that addressed the medical issues. My experience left me feeling that important health risks were not adequately communicated prior to sale. ***Hoping this review prevents anyone else from the heartache our family went through*** We bought the most adorable Boston Terrier puppy from B & C Kennels June 2018. Once home he had a chronic cough that was diagnosed as kennel cough from our Vet. Several 100 dollars were spent in Vet Bills because the cough persisted and we were told he had a chronic lung condition. Then, about 4 months in, we discovered he was deaf! The Vet confirmed this diagnosis. We called and talked to a mgr. and were told by Brian to bring him back for a full refund, but my kids were attached by then. Brian said they marked the parents with "do not breed", but I'm seeing recent pics of Chocolate Boston Terriers that look just like ours! We decided to care for ours, even with all the issues knowing he wouldn't have a normal life-span. Our Boston recently passed away 11/17/19 suddenly and very unexpectedly while sleeping. We had an autopsy performed and our Vet said his sudden death was due to his genetic anomalies. We have had 1 other dog that lived to age 17, so to lose our puppy at 1 year and 8 months was completely devastating to our family! I have never called these people back, nor do we want anything from them, but our point of sharing our story is so noone has to endure the heartache we did losing our sweet, sweet Cooper. read more

I made a review around 2-3 years ago the week I purchased my two Dachshund puppies. I had a wonderful experience buying them. They're wonderful. They did have ear mites when I purchased them and I was reimbursed by B&C kennels with proof from my own vet, that they had mites before I purchased them. So in the beginning of my experience I felt wonderful and happy with everything. I recommended this kennel to many people, WHO ENDED UP PURCHASING PUPPIES! However, some years later.. multiple surgeries later, serious problems and clear BAD BREEDING (bad genetics or in breeding) I feel obligated to say that everyone who wants to purchase a puppy from this establishment, look into the ASPCA's website. They've named this kennel in the top 100 puppy mills. When I saw this for the first time I cried. And cried. The paperwork I received on my babies is very suspicious. The "breeders" name and address are not searchable via google, the number never had service. The business doesn't exist and apparently never existed. My boss purchased a puppy from B&C kennels ~1-2 weeks after I got my two girls, and they all have the SAME BIRTHDAY! Mind you, her chihuahuas paperwork stated she was bred in a totally different state, by a totally different person, than what my paperwork stated. That may have been a coincidence, so let's give the benefit of the doubt... I have TWO MORE PEOPLE WHO PURCHASED PUPPIES AROUND THAT SAME TIME... and their birthdays all are the same. Yet state in their "CKC" (Continental Kennel Club) aka (PuppyMill pedigree paperwork) they were bred by different people and in different locations! That is no longer a coincidence, it's grounds for serious suspicion. My two "miniature" dachshunds are not actually minis. And they were sold to me as long haired and purebred. I have had three specialists, who do not know each other, express that my dogs parents were a standard and mini, one being long haired, and the other smooth. Which is why they look the way they do. Their coats are nothing like what a long haired dachshund should look like. Their fur is thin and short. Olive, one of my girls, has had multiple surgeries correcting a bladder issue which has been confirmed to be genetics. Violet has had to have her baby canine teeth removed, and is now having the same bladder issues as olive. (Olive and Violet are from the same litter) I am so hurt and upset at myself for falling for this scam. I love my dogs. UPDATE 06/10/19: I would like to again stress my distaste for this business. Not only do they special in deception and selling unhealthy dogs, I see dishonesty is one of their business tactics as well. As of 06/10 - my puppy is still sick with kennel cough and continues to have other medical issues. We are up to $600 in vet costs to continue to try to make him better. B&C has sent me one email which I will screenshot and post - giving me one day to return the puppy for a full refund. WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULD RETURN A PUPPY TO THIS HORRID PLACE?! I have not received one call or voicemail to discuss or resolve this manner. So they have straight up lied. For the record, my puppy was purchased on 05/23/19 according to my bill of sale and bank records. B & C KENNELS mistakenly UNDERCHARGED me and then realized they made a mistake. MY MOTHER AND STEP FATHER made an appointment to visit a puppy on 05/25. 3 DAYS LATER. So once again B & C has lied. Update 9/20/2019: Mia has been a great addition to our family! However, we did take her to the Vet and they did a stool sample and she has parasites in her intestines. It's easily treatable with antibiotics but we've gotten multiple past puppies from breeders (2 labs from the same & 1 shih tzu mix from another one) and they've never came home with anything. "Parasites are usually transmitted when an animal inadvertently ingests parasite eggs or spores in contaminated soil, water, feces or food." I'm still very satisfied with B & C and maybe this information can help them treat they're animals so this won't be a problem for future puppies. read more

After researching and talking to others who have bought their dogs from B and C my wife and I decided we found the place to purchase our puppy. Walter has been a true blessing , no health issues , all around a beautiful dog . We had a small issue with paperwork , an oversight , Christie resolved that issue . Harley just had his first birthday. In a word? PERFECT. Harley is a Toy Fox Terrier. We came across the breed in a web search as we were replacing our 17 year old Dachshund and really didn't want to go through the rather stubborn Dachshund puppy training again. Harley was true to breeder information form. He is very smart (potty trained in 4 days !!) and cuddles when you want and plays tirelessly if you want and mixes with the 5 dogs in my family. I am very satisfied with my miniature poodle. I have had her for a month. I purchased a poodle from B & C because a friend of mine had bought two poodles there and they were very well behaved. She came a little trained already. She listens very well to the word no. She is very smart. I got her checked out with the vet and she got a clean bill of health. After the first couple days she seemed to fall right into a routine and started becoming more playful. The first couple of nights she was scared to be in her cage and cried but i told her no, she stopped crying and I just stayed in the room with her till she fell asleep and she slept for 8hrs. After that she falls asleep without me being in the room and doesn't bark except to go potty in the morning. I am satisfied with my purchase. We just purchased a Boston Terrier from B&C and within 2 days he developed terrible diarrhea. He went to the vet after losing .9lbs in just 5 days and he completely stopped eating and drinking. He is currently in ICU for coccidia and hypoglycemia. Conveniently, both issues are not covered by their health guarantee. B&C actually had the audacity to advice AGAINST overnight care for this dog. Who tells an owner to NOT hospitalize a pet when they are completely emaciated and we are watching a 9 week old puppy die before our eyes. All they offered me was yet another anti- parasitic shot to give the dog and have looked at by their vet. Sounds like a CYA to me. So far this 9 week old puppy has needed glucose injections, iv fluid injections, feeding tube, GI tract simulating drugs and treatment for coccidia. According to our vet, the onset of symptoms to when we got him, there's only one place this puppy picked up this parasite and its from infected poop at the kennel or wherever they get these dogs from. My husband and I got our cavapoo puppy, Gryffindor, about three weeks ago. We had seen mixed reviews, but after emailing with Christie, my husband and I felt like this would be the right choice. I want to say upfront, we love our dog. He is amazing, sweet and funny. We would have brought him home just the same, knowing everything below. We've talked about it several times, and we're not sure if we'd get another dog from B&C, because his vet care prior to coming to us is not what we had expected it to be. The thing is, he was socialized to be with people and other dogs well, and he is so loving, so obviously there is a level of caring and affection at B&C. So this review is mixed. I'm not sure if we'd recommend them After we got Gryff, we took him to the vet the next day. He was diagnosed with a severe double ear infection that you could see on the outside of his ears. This isn't uncommon in puppies, but the vet told us he had it for at least two weeks, if not longer, and she was concerned with his eardrums rupturing. It was cleared up over the course of three weeks and thankfully, his eardrum didn't rupture. He also has an umbilical hernia. Again, thankfully, treatable, but something that he had when we got him that should have been disclosed. This would have had virtually no impact on our decision to bring him home. However, we would have wanted to know that before he came home. The last thing, and probably the most disappointing, was that he wasn't given his second round of vaccinations by B&C. As a result, he was over a week late on his second round. Again, something that can be resolved--we just wish we had known. We're extremely happy with Gryffindor because of the puppy he is-happy, friendly, funny and smart. He's definitely like that, in part, because B&C clearly cares about the puppies that they have. We are so grateful and happy that they gave him a great start in that respect. The socialization, time and affection they had with him were truly wonderful. However, his vet care simply was not what we expected. That's why we're not sure if we would recommend them to others. read more

We bought Walter, a four month old, white miniature schnauzer on June 17th. This after meeting him five days previous. Everyone there couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. They seem to generally care about the pups and what we were looking for. Walter seemed healthy and happy. Our first week was a lot of fun. He is happy and fun. An immediate visit with the vet showed him to be healthy and up to date with all of his shots. Not even one potty accident. We visited B&C based on two recommendations by neighbors. We have had our Morkie for about a week now, and he is so lovable. The staff at B&C were very helpful, letting us play with and look at any of the puppies we were interested in. They sent us home with a couple of puppy pads, a bag of food, and a copy of all of his immunizations and instructions on what he could and couldn't eat. We are very happy with our little guy. We got our Miniature Schnauzer, Tucker, from B&C Kennels 2 years ago. I had many concerns about where they get their dogs because they have so many different breeds. I asked as many questions as I could and researched reviews. I even called nearby vets to see if they had anything to say. Since we couldn't find anything negative about the breeders, we went through with our purchase. Tucker is is a healthy dog, and I have no complaints about the customer service at B&C, EXCEPT the fact that we were outright lied to. Since I was unable to find out where the dogs at B&C come from, I thought I'd post it here. My whole family lives in Tennessee and I try my best to always mention that the papers will come with a Tennessee address. I have never tried to mislead anyone about where the pups are born. She has as clean if not cleaner kennel than I have and we work together." In another e-mail from Christie she told me, "We do not breed any dog that is not in top health and has no known genetic issues. We do not breed moms after the age of 6. Many breeders will breed til the mom can no longer breed. We believe that moms deserve another life besides breeding." That is not what I'm seeing from the video above. Before getting Tucker, I called local vets to see if they could recommend Christie's kennel. The only one that would talk to me was very hesitant and gave me a rehearsed line about the puppies being up to date on their shots. Now I'm seeing why they were so hesitant. I'm giving B&C Kennels only 1 star because I was completely lied to, more than once, about where their dogs come from. My dog is healthy and Christie's customer services seemed good at the time. Maybe people don't care how the parents of their puppies are treated, but I think they should know before deciding where to buy their puppy. read more

Horrible 'bedside manner' and customer service experience. First impressions bear a considerable weight, and based on my initial (and only) phone interaction with the female I spoke to, I would never recommend this place. I called this morning to inquire about a puppy I saw for sale on their website and said I was curious to know if it was still available. She, in a short tone, said "if it's up on the website, it's available." I then proceeded to explain that this would be my first pup (clearly enthusiastic about it), and that I had some general questions. When I started asking my questions, she interrupted me and said "did you just google these questions on the internet? You probably want to do some more research before you call and just ask questions." ? To which I said "respectfully, I have a friend who has owned numerous dogs whose input I received." Then after two more questions (including one asking "is the mother kept in the home full time or just during the birthing period"), She cut me off (again) and said, "no. I think you need to find another breeder" and hung up on me. Do people who run legitimate businesses actually interact with potential customers like that? Prior to her hanging up on me, I'd also asked if she was registered with the AKC, to which she responded (rudely) "Do you even know how that works? Not all dogs get registered if they're not full breed. We have some dogs registered but the teddy bear dogs are not." Rather than just cordially explain that concept, since I did just say this would be my first puppy, that was her tone/response. To say this was terrible experience is an understatement - and to be hung up on shows the degree of lacking professionalism - and clearly, indicates red flags. It says a lot if a breeder isn't willing to answer basic questions and gets that offended if a potential customer has questions...rather than being willing to answer them and show their level of care for their dogs. In January of 2015, my family and I drove to B&C Kennels in order to pick up a Teddy Bear puppy. We had found this breeder on the internet and liked what we saw about it being a small operation supplied by "local breeders," and so we contacted Christie and excitedly set up the appointment to come to pick out our dog. When we arrived, we were put into a sort of playpen and allowed to interact with all the male teddy bear puppies. A little black-and-white one seemed shy, and sort of out-of-place alongside his raucous brothers and cousins. I got his attention and called to him. He toddled over, a small, shaggy mound of fur with two big black eyes. He licked my thumb. I sensed in him a kindred spirit, and loved him immediately. I picked him up and told my father "this is the one I want." I have suffered from an anxiety disorder nearly as long as I can remember, and my family and I had decided that it might do me good to have a little companion. My mother, who was in the playpen with us, had her eye on a little brown-and-white boy with black fur around the edges of his ears, the color of toast that's toasted a little too long. He was wild, jumping around and play fighting - nearly the polar opposite of the puppy I had picked out and named Bandit. My father told her that she could have the wild boy, too, and we left with two puppies in hand. Almost immediately we began to suspect something was wrong with Bandit. He slept a great deal and didn't want to eat or drink. I texted Christie and asked if this was normal. She assured me that it was. He began to vomit. I texted Christie, again, and asked if this was normal. She assured me, again, that it was, and suggested that I give him a bit of Pepto-Bismol to settle his stomach. Two days passed. That morning, we could not get Bandit to get up and leave the crate that he shared with my mothers' puppy, who we named Scout. This made us nervous, and again we contacted Christie. She called and said "I think your puppy is sick, I think it has Parvo." I remember the words and can hear her voice in my head, even now, because it was the most frightening sentence I had ever heard. She told me that this "never happens." We were instructed to take him immediately to the vet near their kennel, which was something like an hour and a half away by car. We got dressed and took him there as we were instructed. The drive there broke my heart. He was vomiting the entire time and trembling. More than once he opened his big dark eyes and looked up at me with an expression that spoke as clearly as if he had spoken out loud: "please help me," that look said. "I don't want to die." There was misery, fear, and pain in his eyes. Bandit was admitted to the animal hospital the instant we brought him in the door. He hung on for 7 days, and I began to have hope that maybe he would make it after all. The phone rang early on the 7th morning. An impersonally sad voice on the other end told me that Bandit had not made it. Words cannot begin to express the level of devastation I felt, knowing that my little kindred spirit had not survived. There was also, absurdly, an emotion of guilt - as if, somehow, I could have gotten him there sooner and perhaps he could have been saved. Guilt turned to terror as I realized that now Scout may catch this deadly virus, too. Scout and Bandit had slept together, played together, and Scout had stepped in Bandit's droppings - a nearly surefire way to transmit parvo from one dog to another. We spent weeks in limbo, waiting for him to start to show symptoms. I was a nervous wreck that he would get sick and die until he was fully vaccinated against Parvo and everything else he could get shots for. Miraculously, Scout never caught the virus. Our vet told us in no uncertain terms that she was stunned he hadn't gotten sick. He has grown strong and happy over these last two years. In November of 2017, I found out that even though Christie had told me "this never happens," that is not the case. Two weeks before we bought Bandit and Scout, B&C Kennels took back a puppy that was infected with parvo. The kennel was not shut down, the puppies were not quarantined, and the state inspector was not notified. All these things are required by Illinois State Law. The kennel was fined $500 for this infraction. This puppy infected my Bandit. They let us believe for two days that Bandit was just nervous and would get better soon, knowing full well that the symptoms he was showing were those of parvo. As far as I am concerned, they cost Bandit his life. If he had been in the hospital two days earlier, receiving IV fluids, I believe he may have survived. The animal hospital told us that his body did successfully beat the parvo. It was the organ damage he suffered from not eating or drinking that ultimately killed him. Please read this review before all others as it is costing me $1398 to be able tell you the truth about this puppy mill! I refused their offer to pay me because I had to sign a non-disclosure agreement first! My son and daughter went out to pick up a puppy ( a teddy bear) for my wife's christmas present. I arrived excited to see the new member of our family within 2 hours of them picking him up and noticed him coughing. The kids told me they looked it up online and said it could be from stress. I said to call the vet and set up an appointment immediately. First available appointment was Monday (this was Friday) we took him in and was told he had kennel cough and he was put on antibiotics. He did not improve and on Sunday (day 10) he refused to eat! We took him to the 24 hour vet clinic where he was diagnosed with life threatening bronchial pneumonia! I called Christie at B and C and she said we could return the puppy for a full refund or they would take him back and nurse him themselves and return him to us IF he lived! My daughter and wife were frantic that they were being told that he was a very sick dog and needed immediate care by a VET. Christie said that they were limited in the help (financially) that they were willing to provide if we took it anywhere but to their vet. I made the judgement call to do everything possible to save the puppys' life by having actual veterinary care provided. There's a complaint (among others) filed with the Companion Animals Protection Society where a lady named Beth described the care her puppy received when she took it back to them instead of a vet and she claims that her dog was only returned to her after insisting to see the dog and found him emancipated, covered in urine, feces, and syrup! The Companion Animal Protection Society also has a video of their the puppy mill breeder and her over 600 dogs in cages. I called Christine back to let them know it was serious and he would be staying at the 24 hour care and she responded that she would see if she could help. On Monday the "help" she promised was a call from an employee named Brian whose idea of help was to tell me they never have sick dogs go out their doors and it was neglect on out part! I told Brian that although that may be their "go to" argument perhaps he shouldn't try that answer with me as...they sold us a dog that died from parvo less than a week after taking him home 2 years ago. (There will be a seperate review for that incident to keep this as brief as possible.) He immediately became rude and argumentative (for no reason) and blamed everyone else including us, the vet because "he didn't get better did he?", the makers of the antibiotics, and the 24 hour veterinary hospital! He asked that we send him all the records and I did, already guessing that he was just looking for an excuse to not pay us. Sure enough! his excuse was that it was aspirated bronchial pneumonia and that was our fault because the puppy could have vomited and breathed it in causing the pneumonia. I tried to explain to Brian that wasn't a very good excuse because the dog was coughing on day 1! He latched onto the idea that either it was kennel cough which they don't pay for (ask to read their multi page contract before you go there as they are not liable for anything!...despite the fact that their contract tries to cancel your rights under the Illinois Puppy Lemon Law) or our fault. The actual vet report only mentions aspiration as a possible cause under tentative diagnosis, this was ruled out by the xrays we had done and diagnosis was confirmed as Bronchial Pneumonia. Brian finally offered to contact their vet and see what they would have charged them if we had brought the puppy there instead (even though they had told us that they were providing the veterinary care themselves...without a license which is illegal in the State of Illinois!) His final offer was to begrudgingly offer us $1398 of the $3300 it actually cost us! I asked him to simply put it on our credit card when he rudely informed me that I had no standing here as my daughter was the one that actually signed the contract. I tried to tell him it was a family gift and I was paying the majority of the bill and he accepted MY card for payment. He responded that didn't matter and that he would send a check to my daughter. When I finally gave in and said that I had had enough of dealing with him he shot back" no, it's not that easy. I WILL get non-disclosure agreements from you, your wife, and Daughter!" Brian told me that whenever they write a check that they always get non disclosure agreements, really! I refused and instead decided to let other people know the truth about this puppy mill. Bear in mind, I never asked them for money but Brian decided to make this an issue. Had they simply apologised and said they couldn't help then it is what it is. My problem is I hate bullies!! I just called to make an appointment to visit, to explore the various breeds and ensure this was a good decision for our family. I was told that they have no time for this type of visit on the weekend (my perspective: this is a family decision and I need the whole family to be there). This a very poor attitude, especially in light of the multitude of pets that are given for holiday presents without proper research. Their poor reaction - to my perspective on the importance of a pet decision to the entire family - leads me to believe this is not a good environment for the animals in their care. read more

We have 2 dogs from B&C and I couldn't have asked for a better experience or better dogs. We got our Boston 2.5 years ago and once we were sure she would want a companion, we went back this past summer and got our Frenchton. Obviously I am biased but i can honestly say I think we found the two best dogs in the whole world. Their temperament could not be better and the absolutely LOVE each other. My husband and I are so in love with them. They are healthy, happy and bring so much joy to our lives along with anyone they meet. Our vet office goes CRAZY whenever we bring one or both of them in. The feeling is mutual because we are usually the only people being dragged to the vet's front door by our dogs because they love all the attention they get from the entire vet office. Just as wonderful as our dogs are, so was the experience we had when going to get them. Everyone at B&C Kennels is so pleasant, kind, knowledgeable and helpful. They sent us on our way with more than enough food, clean bills of health, and two of the best things nature has ever created. This is in response to the business owner of B & C kennels. For the record my daughter purchased a puppy from you on May 23,2019, two days later me and my husband purchased a puppy from your kennel (May 25). We were instructed by your staff to have a wellness check done on the puppies within 4 days of purchase. We both did this and this is how we found out that both puppies have Giardia and my daughters dog also has Kennel Cough. After getting a fecal test done this is how we were told by our veterinarian that the puppies had Giardia, mind you that my daughter and I live in seperate households and have a differant dog breed. There was no way to know the puppies had this at the time of purchase and it is not explained to potential buyers about this being a potential issue. After being diagnosed my veterinarian gave me more information regarding this issue and it possible to get this through other means despite what you wrote in response to Jasmin, A dog can get Giarida by drinking water that has been contimated by feces or eating something that has been contimated by feces, like grass, and despite what you replied it is not easily treated because her dog is on his second dose of medicine for this and he still has it. I have a problem with the fact that a puppy is purchased from your kennel and then you bring home a dog that has not been tested, nor treated for this while in your kennel. I have done my research after this ordeal and have found that other places test and treat puppies for this before being sold, medication is covered and also treatment is covered for 30 days. So I ask is this fair to a customer that has little or no knowledge about Giradia or what it is, customers spend anywhere from $600 on up for a puppy and then they may have this additional expense that to me is not right because the puppies should be tested before being sent home. But I guess it is shame on the customer for not being abreast of everything . I would also like to point out that Jasmin never received any follow up calls from you like you expressed and yes you offered her a full refund but she was told that she had to get the puppy back to you on the same day she contacted the kennel, we live over 2 hours away and it was already close to noon and that just wasn't possible. Also you mentioned the fact that I made good on Jasmin's underpayment of the dog..... This is not true, Jasmin paid for the mistake that was made on behalf our your staff not me. There is a old saying that says " You live and you learn" . My advice is that before making a purchase do your research, ask questions, and understand everything that you sign. read more

Do not buy your puppy from here. They should be shut down. They lied about the date of the pups birthdate, they wouldn't let us go see how the pups are housed because of some lame excuse we will get the pups sick, when they already sell sick pups. They told me nothing of the pups parents except they were off site. Another lame excuse and a red flag!! There is no way I would send my sick puppy back to this disgusting, smelly place. My puppy was filthy, had ear mites, giardia , kennel cough, and now has juvenile genetic cataracts in both eyes. My yorkie poo is blind. She got her first cataract at 8 mo old!!!! I wish I would have never set foot in that place. Sick of their lame excuses. Nothing is their fault. They need to pay for my poor puppy. Giving 1/2 the money back didn't even cover the vet bills!!!Ive spent hundred of dollars for this poor sick dog I feel I rescued from that puppy mill. You should be shut down! AMAZING!!! When we first pulled up I knew this was where my family would get our dog. An amazing big dog greeted us along with a woman. There were many cute, healthy puppies and dogs here and we found the one. A male morkie which we soon later named woody. This dog was amazing the first few nights he couldn't fall asleep which was totally normal. But now this dog is perfect through the night and just the best thing that has ever happened to me I just found another dog here which I think we might come and take home. I went to this kennel to see a dog that had been purchased by another family by the time I got there even though I had an appointment. They were very apologetic. We looked at four other dogs while we were there and ended up purchasing a toy poodle. On the way home noticed she had a cough. She coughed during the night and the next day it got worse. We got her into the vet within 24 hours of purchasing her and she was diagnosed with kennel cough. I get it, It happens. When I had called yesterday, the gentleman seemed genuinely concerned and told me to follow up with him. I called with the confirmation of her diagnosis, the girls reaction was "ok". Just Ok. So I did call back and was told everyone with any management title was either out of the office or on vacation. I love the dog we got but I shouldn't have had to dish out money on antibiotics and cough syrup and have to watch her be miserable coughing within the first 24 hours. Now we have to worry about our current dog catching it and accrue more unnecessary vet bills. Not happy with B&C Kennels right now. Other than that, the facility was decent and the people were nice. Purchase at your own risk. Update: she also tested positive for Giardia. Thanks B&C Kennels! My poor dog is miserable. read more

We have purchased 2 puppies from B & C. I have emailed back and forth with Christie numerous times over what kind of dog to get, when to get it, etc. She has been super helpful and friendly. The staff at B & C is very friendly and clearly loves the dogs. We got our first dog in 2016, a Teddy Bear...there is nothing cuter in the world than this dog! (she is black and white in the photo). She got along great with our older female Wire Fox Terrier who everyone told us would be mean to the puppy. Christie counseled me to try the Teddy Bear because of their temperament. They were best friends until the older dog died in 2018. I know you are supposed to wait to get a new puppy but the Teddy Bear was so depressed and cried when left alone. Teddy Bears are companion dogs and will follow you everywhere! The family decided that I could not get another Teddy Bear :( so we agreed on a Cavapoo (they wanted a slightly bigger dog). We got our Cavapoo in August 2018. She had a kennel cough and I took her to the vet; one round of antibiotics cured it. Our other dog had been vaccinated already. Both dogs are super healthy, energetic and friendly...there personalities are different but so sweet and loving. I recommend purchasing a puppy care program at your vet as it will save you tons of money. My only caveat which is not on B & C, but we got the Teddy Bear at 11 weeks, I think because she was one of the last two girls left! She got potty trained pretty quickly. But we got the Cavapoo at 9 weeks. Yikes! B & C offered to keep her longer for a fee but we wanted her, I just didn't remember that the other dog was older when we got her and wow, it took the Cavapoo a long time to sleep through the night. So when you get a puppy, know that the younger they are, the longer they cry at night. We are so attached to these dogs and would go back to B & C in a second. I also have a friend with a dog from B & C, same story. Highly recommended. read more

I had found B&C Kennels by Googling breeders near Chicagoland. After finding B&C's website and reading through Facebook reviews, I emailed Christie and received a response almost immediately. We scheduled a visiting time, and everything was ready for me by the time I had arrived. Christie brought out two cavapoo puppies and let me play with them for as long as I wanted. I reserved my puppy and was able to pick her up a week later. Christie gave me all the information I had needed, and on the pick-up date, I was given puppy food and Nutri-Cal for puppies as well as instructions for her first day at home and her next vet appointment. All throughout, I had been skeptical because of the horror stories I heard about puppy mills and irresponsible breeders, and also because the prices of B&C's puppies were so affordable compared to other breeders, so my mind wasn't at peace until I had taken my puppy to the vet. Other than getting her ears cleaned (with a normal ear cleaning rinse that you can buy at the store) because they were a little dirty, my puppy was healthy and up-to-date on everything, and my vet said that I had nothing to worry about. It's been a year since I've gotten my puppy from B&C Kennels, and I cannot rave enough about this place. Before getting my cavapoo, I had adopted a dog that had come from a sad background, and when comparing the two dogs, I have to say that it's so obvious that my cavapoo had been loved and well-taken care of while at B&C. My previous dog took a really long time to trust my family members and because of his lack of trust due to his previous experiences, he was very difficult to socialize and train when I had first gotten him. In contrast, upon meeting my cavapoo for the first time, she did not have a fear of people, and she was already well-socialized with other puppies before I had gotten her. She was so friendly and excited for me to take her home, and we bonded very quickly. We had also taken her to a trainer for puppy socialization classes, and even the trainer commented on how friendly and confident my puppy was. To reinforce how awesome B&C is, I have a friend who got a teddybear from B&C around the same time I had gotten my cavapoo, and we were both very impressed with how credible B&C is. If you are looking for a small breed, check out B&C. It is not a kennel that constantly produces puppies all throughout the year for commercial gain. There are wait lists and not every breed is available all the time. I got a dog who is healthy both physically and emotionally, and I would definitely look at B&C again if I were to get another puppy. read more

My review is the same as Shannon's review. I bought my miniature schnauzer from B&C, but was told I couldn't see the parents because they were bred at her cousins kennel in Tennessee. I was assured the pups were raised in the same way her dogs were, and they were well socialized in a kennel that was cleaner than her own. Seeing all the good reviews on Facebook I decided to go ahead with the purchase. My vet took a look at the dog the following Monday and she said the pup was in good health and everything looked great. Fast forward another year and I decided that she could use a friend so I went to B&C to get a boy miniature schnauzer from them and once again everything went well and the vet said he was in great health as well. I'm giving B&C two stars because both the puppies were in great health, but it should have been five stars except for the fact I feel completely lied to. Seeing the video of A1 puppies doesn't instill any confidence they're not a puppy mill aside from them having a USDA license. If Christie had mentioned "Oh, it's my cousin breeding them, but she has 600+ dogs there" I would've taken my search elsewhere. Not to mention in the video the lady says she "ships 80 every two or so weeks now to a lady in Chicago" but makes no mention of it being "family" like Christie mentioned multiple times makes me think that is also false. The moral of the story is that Christie may have healthy puppies, but it's up to you if you want to buy them from her after seeing where they may be coming from. read more
