Funky Punky sandwich
Candi R.

We love this place! Across the street from CSU so it gets busy during lunch time but the line goes fairly quick. They have a large menu of sandwiches and a few different homemade soups each day. They serve breakfast and lunch. My favorite sandwich is the funky punky. Turkey, on a hoagie roll with avocado, tomato, grilled onion , salsa and melted provolone cheese. I add sautéed mushrooms. The Rueben is also a favorite. They also have a few sweets to chose from. There is a full Bar in the front and is a nice place to sit and eat and enjoy a beer. It's a hometown kind of feel and been around since 1988. Great service and delicious, filling sandwiches. It's a go to when we want a warm sandwich and a cold beer in a friendly environment . Don't forget to get the pickle!!!

Toonces half on right and chicken Philly on left.

We each ordered a different sandwich so we could each have a taste of two items. For my taste, the toonces was a fail. I don't know if the ranch dressing was overwhelming everything else in the sandwich but I only could have two bites before I had to put it down for good. The chicken Philly was actually good however the problem I had was at the bread was a sandwich cut bread, meaning two slices one on top of the other, so everything kept falling out of the sandwich. I guess I'm used to Philly as being served in a submarine style bread where everything stays contained and you can masterfully get every last bite without anything falling out. The restaurant staff was attentive and personable and the bar area was very nice, something that would welcome us back due to the number of taps available. They have a nice beer garden in the back and all in all the restaurant was a pretty good experience.

So glad they've reopened! Menu, great food, and excellent service all feel original. Thank you for coming back!!!

Super good sandwiches on delicious toasted bread. Cute multi level dining room option and street tables. Right across from CSU.

Ace Gillett's -- The Best Speakeasy Vibe in Fort Collins…read more Ace Gillett's is one of our favorite spots in Fort Collins -- a fun, underground bar with true speakeasy vibes. Cozy booths, dim lighting, live music, a full bar, and genuinely delicious food make it the kind of place you want to linger. We love coming here with friends and sharing appetizers: flatbread pizza, fries, Brussels sprouts -- everything is consistently great. We've celebrated our daughter's 21st birthday here, and celebrated our new home here. It's perfect for date night, girls' night out, or a cozy, relaxing evening with live music. One of the best things about Ace Gillett's is how flexible it is. As my husband and I say, it's an "every evening place" -- you can splurge on an incredible full meal or spend $15 on a happy hour drink and an appetizer. It works for any occasion and any budget. And the location is unbeatable: tucked beneath the historic Armstrong Hotel in the heart of downtown Fort Collins. Super convenient if you're staying there, and a wonderful spot to add to any night out. Highly recommended.

Prices weren't bad and it also has a piano bar but that's only open on certain days. Although I was surprised, it wasn't more packed for a Saturday night. But good for me and my friend, so it was easy to converse without a lot of noise.

It was perfectly salted and the bed of argula it was on had this delicious pesto drizzle omg. And don't even get me started on the tomatoes!!! Then we split the Bolognese and the vodka ravioli. The server came around and gave us freshly grated parm and freshly cracked pepper omfggggg!!!! The bolognese was good but the ravioli blew it out of the water it was sooo cheesy and the vodka sauce was unreal. The tiramisu was delicious. It wasn't a lot of chocolate and coffee mostly the cream which was light and airy and perfectly sweet. And it came w a cute flower garnish!

Starting off with the good - the service was good. The manager had a lot of positive personality. In general, the service staff is trying their best and there's no negative attitude. Great ! The ambiance was nice. Business appropriate , date appropriate. Nice night out level. However, the food. The most important part of dinner. Sadly, it was a bit disappointing. - meatballs: tasted processed. Not made from scratch. It may be the blend or the seasoning or both, but this was not something worth ordering at all. 3 small meatballs. A bit on the dry side. - the mushroom appetizer. Hardly any mushrooms on the middle of the fried outside. Really it was a shell of fried outside breading and very little of what resembled the taste or texture of mushrooms. Pass on this. -fungi pasta - this wasn't bad, but not a standout. 3 stars. Probably the best thing I ordered. - short beef ravioli - I'm not trying to be critical or harsh but this tasted like something I can buy as a microwaveable meal at Trader Joe's. Huge disappointment. If I needed a nice place to discuss business , I may go in to get drinks and light food. But if you're a foodie , or remotely emphasize food as an important part of a meal, I would probably pass, at least for now.

We ordered fries with the burger and also had the lightly fried cauliflower as an appetizer. The cauliflower was very good. The place has a decent size bar to sit at and a lot of tables . Good place for a larger group as they have plenty of space to push tables together. The indoor decor and feeling is very relaxed and comfortable. There is also a good size outdoor area with lots of tables and umbrellas. Would be so nice on a warm day. The service was great. Very helpful, attentive servers. I'm only removing one star because I've had two exceptional experiences. Am really disappointed by tonight's experience. ********* Really good food and really good service. On our last visit we had Derek as our server and he did a great job! The restaurant itself is clean, spacious, and comfortable. As a typical party of 5, I very much appreciate having a table that actually seats 5 and not a table for 4 with a chair pulled up. We will continue to return.
