B&B is under new management in the past year. The new folks decided to install automated switches and door locks. When the place opens at 7 a.m., there are no humans other than customers around. This turned out to be a problem for me.
I tried one of the two largest washers, which jammed on the first quarter. The second one had a door that would not close properly. I finally put almost everything in a third, slightly smaller washer, which worked. At that point, I was out $6.50. I walked up from my place to the laundromat, a little over 1/4 mile, after there was a human on site. After calling the owner a couple of times, the human, aka Pat, gave me my money back
I would not recommend using this laundromat early in the day. Wait until 10:30 when there's a human around in case a machine malfunctions. It wasn't crowded at all when I went back the second time, so you'll probably be in and out quickly. I did notice that out of 24 regular-sized dryers, there were notes on 5 indicating they were out of order or one had a note that said "light load only." A few washers were out as well.
While I'm pleased I got my money back, not having people on hand for all hours the place is open is a major step back in service. It might save having to pay an employee for 3 1/2 hours, but a couple of customers I spoke with said they felt the place has gone downhill since the new owners changed things. That's especially true in my case, since laundry is something I want to get out of the way as early in a day as I can, but now I don't want to go there until there's a human on site. read more
