Read on and I will explain. The flea market looks like an old mega-department store that went out of business and was then bought and maintained by the people. This is exactly what I found inside: nail boutiques, salons, cell phone providers, bubble tea shops, korean cafes, etc. Each independently-owned and maintained. Essentially, this is a free-for-all! I came in with a limited budget in terms of time and money, but ended up with a full belly and a worthwhile purchase: a $6 dollar hot wing tray from a korean family-owned cafe and a $5 pair of sunglasses. $11 dollars total = VICTORY! Anyway, I love Renninger's mainly for the convenience and wonderful selection of food and neat items you can find at outstanding prices. In these times, it's nice to find things we can afford. All of the vendors we've bought from are so nice and always happy to discount prices further if it helps make a sale. It's great going there on a Sunday just to kill time. There's plenty to see for collectors and regular shoppers alike. It's easy to get overwhelmed though as there's a LOT to see that could interest you. My only complaint is that it can be dirty in there. Sure, some vendors take the time to dust off their wares, keeping their shops/kiosks clean and their inventory fresh, making the experience all the more inviting, but others just dont seem to care. I'm more enticed to rummage through endless baskets/boxes of items if it looks like the shopkeeper takes the time to clean and arrange things. This is especially important for the "food court" area. I never really see anyone wiping tables clean, but they are on top of trash removal. I'm not a fan of dogs and cats being sold there, especially when they're placed in a non-climate-controlled area. Those poor animals. I'd buy every single one of them if I could, out of sheer pity for the conditions they must endure. Anyway, I rarely leave this place empty-handed. Occasionally I'll make the trip out west to visit the sister location, which I like a bit more than the Eau Gallie location, but for the most part, it's a fun time, and I love the experience of "the hunt" here.

Trust me, it's HUGE! So big in fact that unless you skip over a few things or shop eclectically, it would be difficult to cover in a single day. It's an all outdoor affair with no inside convention hall or auditorium to it. The good part about that is that as such it is far more festive with barbecues smoking away along with plenty of entertainment for the kids and though no dogs are allowed, they have dog boarding facilities available. Best of all, if you are looking for anything nautical, new or used, chances are good that you'll find it here and when you do find what you are looking for, it will only be about a third of the price you might find the same or similar item elsewhere. Then, of course if you shop with cash, most vendors will always give you a "for cash" discount forgetting anything having to do with sales tax. But, not to worry, since I am sure that if you insist upon paying sales tax on top of your purchase price, I'm sure they'll gladly accept.

With a big goal of shopping local this holiday season, I stopped by their market on the Sunday after Black Friday to support shopping small businesses. I always love the vendors they have and got a good amount of holiday shopping done. Some of my favorite vendors this time around were Hailey Pancakes, Gypset Co, and the Slip-not headband company. If you get the chance to get Hailey's macarons, do it! She had amazing flavors like coquito (so gooooood) and strawberry cheesecake. They were true to flavor and not overly sweet. Gypset Co has beautiful dainty & minimal jewelry for you best gal friends. I am OBSESSED with Slip-not's headbands. The material is so soft and she has a variety of colors and patterns. There were so many vendors to show love to and buy from! I definitely recommend checking the Flamingo Flea at their next event, wherever that may be.
