Much more quiet and had a musician playing the guitar! Our Server was Laurel and she explained the daily specials and answered questions about the menu. We ordered the sampler which came with artichokes wrapped in bacon, dates and red peppers stuffed with cream cheese. I could have eaten like five more samplers because they were that good. For dinner, I order the Penne pasta with spicy sausage. My husband ordered the lamb meatballs, which came with couscous and chickpeas in a very mild curry sauce, which was perfect even for me. I don't need lamb and I'm not big on curry and I thought his dish was delicious. We had the creme brule for dessert and that was great as well. I stopped in tonight briefly after a short hike in the hills with my dogs. The place was busy for a Saturday evening and my dog was getting stressed. I let her rest in the car parked up front while I went inside for one beer. All tap beers are $6. Two weeks ago when I stopped by, all taps were $5 but maybe that is the local rate. Tonight the bartender told me there was a $15 minimum on a credit card or a $1 additional closing fee for less than $15. I opted to close out. That made my pint of Cali Squeeze $7! But when the bartender came back with my bill, she charged me the local rate of $5 without a closing fee. Odd Two of the tap beers are made right there in Bisbee, across the parking lot at the Old Bisbee Brewing Company. A pint of the Copper City ale or Pilsner is $6 at St Elmo's but $7 at the actual place that brews the beer! A band had just stopped playing for the night in the stage next door. People were playing pool and hitting the boxing glove. The place was loud. Next time I stop in, it will be during the week in the late afternoon when it's much quieter. This place is off-limits to active-duty military (for alleged drug use among clientele) but I've never seen it, unless that includes the old guys who stand outside and smoke weed. I don't partake in that stuff. The business also helps locals on holiday. I've come by in years past when the locals would host potluck turkey meals for the regulars. This place also hosted a lovely Barks and Brews before the covid pandemic hit in 2019. It's a place worth stopping by in at least once. My biggest complaint is the musky smell when you walk on. It's quite strong.

I was invited to sit wherever I wanted, so I chose a table along the wall with a big TV right above me. I was greeted kindly, and given time to order my food, which I decided would be a couple fried eggs, hashbrowns, sausage patties, toast, & cheesy grits. They were so good, with the hashbrowns being, as my partner put it, "The best he's ever had!" I personally enjoyed the patties the most, and the grits the least. The grits were made in a way that the shredded cheese was sprinkled on top of the grits instead of mixed in it, and I do not prefer that style. It was still good, just not as good as others I've tried. So that's why I'm not docking points; why be super critical on one side dish when everything else was an A+?
