It's not just for kids here, as there are often people sitting or lying amongst the redwoods... reading, listening to the creek, or even forest bathing. I've done this and let hours slip away while I just zenned out here. It's also in a fantastic location- right next to the MV Library and the Friends of the Library Bookstore. It is a smaller park, and it's a very peaceful place. Come and enjoy, and please leave no trace. =)

For a more formal event, it's not ideal for older people especially. (those over 80 and those with any disability) There is a somewhat steep and uneven slope down to the Yurt area where the ground is flat but again, uneven and covered with hay. This caused shoes and feet to be covered in dust soon after arriving. This would be ok if wearing proper sneakers or others made for walking on that type of surface. Wearing the clothes we did, gave us no protection from ticks which the website indicated are prevalent there. In addition, the only restrooms are porta potties. This is a little rustic for a formal event and not so easy for people in wheel chairs. There is no lighting on this path back up to the parking lot. This is entirely unsafe after the sun has gone down. All of that said, I would recommend this venue for a school field trip where students are dressed appropriately and are visiting during daylight hours. I would not, however, recommend it for a formal event.

Slime Kitchen is a popular attraction if you're trying to impress some kids. I've been to the one…read morein San Mateo and was invited to kick back and watch as the instructors guided the kids through the 30 min activity. So, when I discovered we had one at the Village in Corte Madera, I immediately booked a 9 year old and 12 year old. We did not get to kick back. The tables were almost all full and our kids walked in excited to get started. Steps 1-2 felt like forever because the kids were decisive and were ready to move on. Nearly every step after that required staff assistance, which just slowed us all the way down, doubling our time here. It's not her fault but didn't meet her expectations. A 30 minute experience ended up taking over an hour due to lack of staff. At the price for two children, I was disappointed because my partner was supposed to kick back and this was my treat to the kids. They had one staff member so we ended up way more involved than we expected - things weren't moving along as expected which really frustrated everyone and made us late to a nearby pool party. Tip: don't call just make an online reservation and be prepared to spend more than 30 minutes here. I called twice ahead to see if we could get in earlier on a Saturday, but got two different answers: "you could try to walk in" and "I don't know keep calling back and ask my boss." The kids had morning sports so we just arrived at our scheduled slot..that's when the sign went up that they were full. I tipped the girl cause it wasn't her fault but they really gotta hire more staff - I know for a fact that we would've had a much more enjoyable experience had staff been more available.

Super cute, neighborhood-inspired local park. This park is so sweet because of all the wooden…read morestructures and interesting spaces. My daughter used to have fantastic games of tag and hide and seek here with just about anyone who showed up. The little children's play area is fenced with swings, a play structure and a sand box that is usually shaded. The bigger kids area has a sort of wooden castle structure with walkways and secret spots as well as a great twisty slide. There are several picnic tables and large lawn. The lawn is sometimes used for off-leash dog play, so take that as you will. If you like dogs and want to bring yours, it's welcome. If they make you uncomfortable, this may not be the best spot for you as the dogs are right next to the children's area. Usually it's just one or two dogs chasing a ball for a few minutes and then they continue on with their owners. One definite downside: there is NO BATHROOM. I think the neighbors fought this tooth and nail -- the ones immediately next to the park, that is. While I respect the notion of not wanting a public bathroom just behind your yard, this approach was a little short sided. Kids have been known to pee in the bushes along the fence line.

I really appreciated all of the different areas that were available for kids. Even though it was packed on the day we went, it never felt too crowded because of how many activities there were! There was never a moment that we waited for anything, if one area felt to dense, we would hop to the next area. It was perfect. You could honestly spend all day here. The bubbles and foam integrations were so cool. I'd like to give a huge shoutout to the people that coordinated the foam party. Every kid that I saw looked like they were having so much fun. My nephew did not want to leave. This place is also nice for adults because of the beautiful view of the Golden Gate Bridge. Just being able to see such beautiful views made the day so much better, it felt like it was an outing for me as well. Parking is horrible so plan to arrive early or you might be looking for parking for quite a while, however we did go during the last weekend of the bubbles and foam event so that may not always be the case. Overall, the entire family had a great time and we would definitely visit again if in the area.

PARKING: Parking is free and right by the entrance. There are several good spots for a family photo in front of the GG Bridge. OTHER: -there is a restaurant/cafe with better than expected prices and better than expected food. I was able to get a birthday gift for a friend. -Check in staff was really friendly and polite, but other staff was not as approachable.

Flabbergasted by all these 5 star reviews...? I've been to many Playland's in the greater Bay Area…read moreand I have to be brutally honest, this Playland in Sausalito, California is by far the worst. I traveled all the way to Playland Sausalito from the South Bay with my 5 year old son for my cousins 5 year old son's birthday party. Upon exiting and making a left her and a left there I found myself driving through an old, dusty, shoddy, dirt road, with barrack style bungalows up into an old, spooky gymnasium. I'm assuming they're using 'Playland' in the school's old gymnasium. Is the school still open? I do not know, but from the looks of it, I doubt it. Just looked run down and unkept to be actually open on a day-to-day basis. I'm giving Playland Sausalito a 1 star review because mostly everyone from my cousins party ended up catching either the flu or some variation of the stomach bug that's been going on. Depending on if you were an adult or a child that kind of dictated your symptoms. After calling and asking around if anyone else from the party got sick I was not surprised to hear that, yes other people in attendance got sick. In addition to getting sick, the overall venue was kind of run down and seemed like it's on it's last leg. A few inflatables, a few balls to kick around, 2 pop-a-shot basketball hoops (one didn't work), and a cold gloomy atmosphere. Nice! I understand what Playland Sausalito is trying to do in terms of providing a safe fun-filled place for children to have parties and hang out with friends and family but if children and adults are getting sick than that's defeating the purpose. Maybe it was a one time thing or others have gotten sick at this establishment but I think lack of attention to detail, sanitary practices, and overall kind of just a dingy, ordinary, throw a few balls and inflatables in here and call it a 'Playland' is lame and dangerous. Also, when I called Playland to ask a question as to if they are open or not? (says they are closed on Yelp unless it's a private party), the guy that answered the phone said "Hello".. LoL, not "Thank you for calling Playland how can I help you" so I had to ask the guy "Is this Playland?". Not professional dude. In hindsight, as I was oblivious of what was to come the days after the party, I made a comment to my cousin that they were having another party right after us and I didn't see them doing any kind of sanitary wipe downs or anything. Yikes! In conclusion, I probably won't be coming back again and if you were thinking on planning a party for your little one here, I'd look around some more for I'm sure there are other venues that offer more bang for your buck. Do I recommend, No.

The only real downside i can see is that the park is open to the waterway, with just a mini stone wall separating the playground with the beach. The kiddos listened and didn't go past the wall... but the wall certainly wouldn't have stopped them.
