The three stars are for my experience at an event. It looks like a great place to take kids to…read morelearn about the environment and animals, etc. I would give it an extra star for the gorgeous views. It loses stars for the reasons stated below. For a more formal event, it's not ideal for older people especially. (those over 80 and those with any disability) There is a somewhat steep and uneven slope down to the Yurt area where the ground is flat but again, uneven and covered with hay. This caused shoes and feet to be covered in dust soon after arriving. This would be ok if wearing proper sneakers or others made for walking on that type of surface. Wearing the clothes we did, gave us no protection from ticks which the website indicated are prevalent there. In addition, the only restrooms are porta potties. This is a little rustic for a formal event and not so easy for people in wheel chairs. There is no lighting on this path back up to the parking lot. This is entirely unsafe after the sun has gone down. All of that said, I would recommend this venue for a school field trip where students are dressed appropriately and are visiting during daylight hours. I would not, however, recommend it for a formal event.

What a super fun and cool experience! Been here twice with…read moremy toddler. Yes I highly recommend this to any one who loves SLIME! The whole experience experiences is about 25 to 30 minutes. Kids put on aprons, choose the texture of the type of slime they want. They have about five different options. Then you picked the color. (Lots of cool options) then you pick the scent, and you get to watch the slime master get your slime mixed all together.. you then head to a table to play with the slime, once you're ready for the mix ins you can pick between glitter, kinetic sand, and a few other options, and then a bottle up your slime. You're welcome to sit and play longer than the 25 to 30 minutes.... Each visit we stayed about a total of 40 minutes, which seemed to be enough for my three year-old. You are welcome to stand and watch you do not have to participate, but it's always nice to take part in creating precious moments and memories with kids. Starting price is about $25... they also have premade slime and some fun seasonal character slime which is a little more expensive. They even have slime kits. You can have a birthday party if you reserve the date in advance.. if I didn't live so far, I would definitely do this with my child and a few other kids. I highly recommend this experience for any age person just as long as you love slime! Me and my toddler will definitely be back in the future.

My daughter used to have fantastic games of tag and hide and seek here with just about anyone who showed up. The little children's play area is fenced with swings, a play structure and a sand box that is usually shaded. The bigger kids area has a sort of wooden castle structure with walkways and secret spots as well as a great twisty slide. There are several picnic tables and large lawn. The lawn is sometimes used for off-leash dog play, so take that as you will. If you like dogs and want to bring yours, it's welcome. If they make you uncomfortable, this may not be the best spot for you as the dogs are right next to the children's area. Usually it's just one or two dogs chasing a ball for a few minutes and then they continue on with their owners. One definite downside: there is NO BATHROOM. I think the neighbors fought this tooth and nail -- the ones immediately next to the park, that is. While I respect the notion of not wanting a public bathroom just behind your yard, this approach was a little short sided. Kids have been known to pee in the bushes along the fence line.

Bay Area Discovery Museum is honestly such a great place for families. It is tucked right along a…read morelittle beach shore with views of the Golden Gate, so if you catch it on a beautiful day, you are in for a really special treat. My biggest tip is to bring a lunch, hang out by the shore, and just chill for a bit. There are so many fun play structures where kids can run around and get all their energy out. They also have smaller play areas and different activities for younger children. I took my son when he was one, right when he was starting to walk, and he was still able to appreciate so much of it. I also think the parents will enjoy this place. I'm not sure if it's the views or the fact that there's lots places to unwind, but I found it one of the more relaxing spots to frequent as a parent. If you do not bring your own food, their options are surprisingly great. We were really impressed to see they have vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, and dairy free options. They also offer discounted tickets if you are on SNAP/EBT or military personnel, which is awesome. Now that my son is older, I am definitely planning to head back soon. They have all kinds of fun programming like bubble bashes and Halloween events. It is truly one of those places you never get tired of coming back to.

I'm sure this would need to be completed within a certain amount of days, though. The museum does a fantastic job catering everything for families. Yes, I know it's a children's museum but not all museums are equal. Plenty of picnic tables to eat at, both shaded and not, benches to take a break and snack, tissue dispensers (this came in handy!), diaper backpacks supplied with all the necessities during diaper changes near bathrooms, hand sanitizers, etc. We were huge fans how the toddler play areas required shoes off or they provided shoe covers! Food is served here and is decently priced. Several outdoor playgrounds, large sandbox, little water play station, arts and crafts room, and lots of excellent play & pretend themed rooms. Huge kudos for all they have to offer because it touches on every level of imagination and creativity which is so vital for child development. Highly recommend coming here with your kiddos. I traveled all the way to Playland Sausalito from the South Bay with my 5 year old son for my cousins 5 year old son's birthday party. Upon exiting and making a left her and a left there I found myself driving through an old, dusty, shoddy, dirt road, with barrack style bungalows up into an old, spooky gymnasium. I'm assuming they're using 'Playland' in the school's old gymnasium. Is the school still open? I do not know, but from the looks of it, I doubt it. Just looked run down and unkept to be actually open on a day-to-day basis. I'm giving Playland Sausalito a 1 star review because mostly everyone from my cousins party ended up catching either the flu or some variation of the stomach bug that's been going on. Depending on if you were an adult or a child that kind of dictated your symptoms. After calling and asking around if anyone else from the party got sick I was not surprised to hear that, yes other people in attendance got sick. In addition to getting sick, the overall venue was kind of run down and seemed like it's on it's last leg. A few inflatables, a few balls to kick around, 2 pop-a-shot basketball hoops (one didn't work), and a cold gloomy atmosphere. Nice! I understand what Playland Sausalito is trying to do in terms of providing a safe fun-filled place for children to have parties and hang out with friends and family but if children and adults are getting sick than that's defeating the purpose. Maybe it was a one time thing or others have gotten sick at this establishment but I think lack of attention to detail, sanitary practices, and overall kind of just a dingy, ordinary, throw a few balls and inflatables in here and call it a 'Playland' is lame and dangerous. Also, when I called Playland to ask a question as to if they are open or not? (says they are closed on Yelp unless it's a private party), the guy that answered the phone said "Hello".. LoL, not "Thank you for calling Playland how can I help you" so I had to ask the guy "Is this Playland?". Not professional dude. In hindsight, as I was oblivious of what was to come the days after the party, I made a comment to my cousin that they were having another party right after us and I didn't see them doing any kind of sanitary wipe downs or anything. Yikes! In conclusion, I probably won't be coming back again and if you were thinking on planning a party for your little one here, I'd look around some more for I'm sure there are other venues that offer more bang for your buck. Do I recommend, No.
