This was my daughter's 6th straight year coming to Camp Kehillah - and summer wouldn't be the same without driving down N.

Membership is mostly all adults with occasional teens, so no horseplay with kids running around as is the case at the Marin YMCA, which I've also been a member at over the years. I think it's a pretty good value for what you get, and the owner seems to replace/upgrade some equipment each year. Never overly crowded and can usually get through a workout at your own pace without having to wait for a machine or weight area to free up. The outdoor "gym" is nice to have for a change of pace, too, especially when the weather is good (quite frequently in Marin!). There are a ton of classes to sign up for whatever you're into: Zumba, cycling, pilates, personal training, etc. and some are free with the membership. Good sauna, but it would be really great if the steam room was working, which it hasn't since I've been a member. Also refreshing that there are no "towel Nazis" monitoring the towel allocation when I head to the shower. Nice to have a convenient parking lot to park in (although whoever owns it really really really needs to repave it and increase the lighting; it's pretty dark in the lot at night, and if I were a woman I'd be a little nervous walking to my car. Location-wise, it's very convenient with the added benefit you can go get a (light!) beer at Pond Farm after your workout! All in all, I highly recommend Body Kinetics. I've only been to the San Rafael fitness center so can't comment on the other locations. BK is not Equinox or Bay Club, but it has all you really need at an affordable price.

It's low key, quiet, people don't bug you, the equipment is top and well cared for. The classes are varied and there's a time for everyone. I've barely scratched the surface of possible workouts here- in 6 mos. They have Pilates for an additional fee to members but it's a deal in and of itself- there are weights in a semi private room as well as throughout the gym and I love the women's sauna in the very clean locker room. Super nice and helpful staff. I'm happy.

The facility is always clean, the equipment is modern and well-maintained, and there's plenty of space so it never feels overcrowded even during busy hours. The locker rooms are also really nice and kept in great condition. One of the highlights of this location is the staff. Everyone is friendly and welcoming, and you can tell they genuinely care about creating a good environment for members. Nick in particular stands out. He's always helpful, professional, and brings great energy to the gym. Whether it's answering questions or just making people feel welcome. Additionally, Fitness SF outperforms the local competition; five points fitness, body kinetics, and the bay club all have worse hours, higher prices, and worse equipment (significantly worse regarding five points) If you're serious about building your physique, or just want a high quality, friendly environment to work out in, this gym is right for you If you or anyone you know truly believes an alternative gym in Marin is better than Fitness SF, your IQ is most likely lower than your bench. BUT! That's ok! Switch to Fitness SF and our community and equipment will get you right, physically and mentally. I know for a fact if you come here for just one month you'll never want to switch back to your old gym. Overall, its a fantastic place to work out. Great equipment, great atmosphere, and great staff. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quality gym in the area. Oh and I almost forgot we've got some wonderful massage chairs for post lift relaxation.

I love the Y and appreciate the amenities available to the community. I have only one concern and…read moreit is that lifeguards do not enforce their basic rules for lap swim. In the last month alone, I have experienced 3 incidents where someone just suddenly appeared in my lane, in front of me while I was swimming. When swimming freestyle, you generally are looking down and if someone is suddenly in front of you, it is difficult to stop in time to avoid a collision. On each occasion, I questioned the person to ask, "where did you come from, how are you in this lane?" All of these swimmers seemed oblivious to the rules, 1: You enter at the deep end only, not in the middle of a lane from an adjoining lane. 2: You make visual or verbal contact with other swimmers when entering their lane and communicate if you're circle swimming or parallel swimming. 3: You never enter in the middle of a lane. I live in fear of a collision because I have 4 small plates holding my cervical spine in place. But the concerning thing to me, is where are the lifeguards. They are literally sitting and watching and never instruct these scofflaws. What are they doing? Another example was the woman doing a backstroke in the "Walking" lanes, literally colliding with bathers and continued even when she was asked to move over to a swim lane by others. I'm just going to say, an accident is bound to happen unless they clean this up, soon. Perhaps it isn't a responsibility of the lifeguards to monitor for these incidents, but I got scolded once for being "too fast," for a slower lane. Made me laugh because I hadn't swam in 5 years and felt it was appropriate for me to start there. So, I know the guards are monitoring something. Let's just hope nothing bad happens, I guess.

AND the gym will be closed for days near the end of the month.!! Are they reinburseing me for this? Who do these people thng they are, with MY Money?

I transitioned from group classes to individual design programming and training with Marcus Filly a few years back and as soon as Revival Strength opened their doors I made the leap to join them. It's the most welcoming atmospheres for training I've every experienced. Whether you are just starting your fitness or healthy lifestyle journey or are a seasoned veteran everyone is welcomed and encouraged. Unlike group classes, you don't feel the need to compete with anyone but yourself and at the same time you have people encouraging your training from the knowledgable floor coaches to other members in the gym, everyone wants your training to be successful for you and without judgement. I am very competitive but have had many injuries do to sports and the group class environment tends to make me want to push through issues that I need to step back and fix. Revival Strength and their coaching staff has made this a possibility, not just physically but mentally to be able to step back and approach training in different ways depending on physical issues and other stresses in my life. Oh! and don't forget their nutrition programs as well. If I've learned anything in the last few years it's that so much of our physical and mental issues can be tied to our gut health. Check it out for yourself, I promise you won't be disappointed!
