I am back to doing the activates I enjoy without worrying about getting hurt. She is very knowledgeable, her classes are always different and fun and she has a great energy. The expense was a lot for me, and I considered other options. But her expertise, the accountability, and the personalized sessions were 100% worth it. The North Bay has gained a treasure!

When I first started working out with Parand, I had exercised sporadically over the years but nothing really stuck. My scheduled work-outs with her helped me get into the best shape of my life and begin to incorporate fitness as a regular and ongoing habit. Over this time, I also lost about 20 pounds and significantly increased my overall strength and flexibility. In the beginning, I took private classes as honestly I felt too uncoordinated and out of shape to work out in front of other people. Over time, I then graduated to her group classes. Both formats I enjoyed and found helpful. Parand has a wide repertoire of workouts, and it's always interesting. Parand is also just a lovely human being. It was always great to catch up with her during my classes. If you are trying to find new ways to be active, I really recommend starting with Parand as a first step.

I've been a member of Anytime Fitness Marin for the past 4 years now…read more This is a great neighborhood gym that has all the amenities you need, whether you're into compound workouts, cardio, HIIT, guided classes, etc. Mike and his team have done a great job curating equipment and programs over the years. He even solicits member feedback in a democratic way to select what the club should invest in re equipment, etc. He has cleaning stations everywhere, and takes good care of the equipment. Wear and tear on machinery is replaced promptly with signs telling members what is being fixed, etc. Bonus points in that AF has locations around the world and I use some of the international locations which is a big bonus.

I only come to this one because of the location when I'm visiting family in the Bay Area. When you think of Sausalito, you think upscale, well-managed, personable, and impressionable. Not really the vibe I got at this Anytime Fitness center. You should have stayed closed until everything was cleaned up and ready for a grand re-opening. I came in the other night when it was pouring rain and, to be honest, I wasn't not really impressed with the new set-up compared to what it was before. When I first walked in, I was immediately met with the smell of sweat, some other funky stale odors, and just an overall feeling of cringe and ick. Let's just say I've been to better gyms that actually make a conscious effort to feel welcoming when you "badge in." The storage cubby area for personal items was overflowing with water bottles, sweaters/jackets, workout towels, and clothes balled up in the corner that have just been left there. Primary source of the smell, I think. No accountability, no apparent care for cleanliness. FAIL!!! A side office door with a "Redlight Sauna Therapy" sign next to it was off the hinges with boxes inside, in plain view, that I can only assume were left there from the recent renovation. Floor mats at the front entrance off to the side that weren't laid down and interconnected, just stacked one on top of the other. The color palette is bland and not energetic. Grey and White? Seriously? Stick with the primary brand and accent colors: Blurple, Purple, White, Red/Orange, and Green/Turquoise. You should know this! Where's the "Inspiration Wall Board" for members to write words of motivation for other members? The brick and mortar "Anytime Fitness" logo wall with supplements is also gone/missing. If this was meant to be a soft opening, you missed the mark entirely. I'm not Joey Swoll, but overall, I'd say "you need to do better." So what's changed, positively? There's a new gym set-up/floor plan from when I was here last year, 2024. The spin class / group training studio is no longer there and has been opened up to include 4 new squat racks, a cable pulley machine, and flat bench rack. On the other side, it's still very much the same with the mirrored wall and free weights as well as the purple turf training area with TRX bands and medicine balls. There are two new treadmills, I think. The track mat/belts feel a little flimsy and could use some tightening. The massage chair room is still there. 4 unisex restrooms, only one has a shower. I loved coming here before the renovation, but now, I'm not so sure. You have a lot to improve on and make better in order to make me ever reconsider coming back here.

On my tour, the employee was so nice, but the facility itself was a big turn off. Bay Club is a catch all gym, from kids and teens running in the halls, to older ladies that never sweat but wear their teeny outfits while they hit on young guys, to rude people sweating all over equipment and not wiping it down after. The vibe gave me the icks. The women's locker room was dirty, with wet towels and trash scattered about. The members don't keep the area clean, and the staff isn't quick enough to clean up these gross items left strewn about. Needless to say, I didn't join Bay Club.

We're at different fitness levels, but they've created customized workouts that challenge us both and keep us motivated. We always leave our sessions feeling stronger, more energized, and never once regretted showing up. The other thing that makes CaliTraining so unique is the location. Over time, we've also become part of a really welcoming, down-to-earth community. We've met great people through the gym, and it's made our fitness routine something we truly look forward to. If you want a personal training experience that's thoughtful, personalized, and set in one of the most beautiful spots in the Bay Area, this is it. If you've ever lost the better part of a year or more of your life to being laid up in extreme pain, you can probably relate to this as a real concern! Working with John has truly been a blessing in my life! Honestly he is exceptionally knowledgeable, caring and inspirational. I've observed him with many of his clients and he's genuinely amazing in the way he customizes a fun, safe, effective fitness plan unique to each and every one of us... John is never boring and he's helping me to exercise in a way that is challenging me while making me feel better and getting me stronger and healthier all the time... AND incredibly, I'm having a lot of fun while he does it. Training with John feels much more like play and spending time (that goes by VERY quickly) with a friend than it ever feels like "working out". He makes getting healthy and fit really enjoyable! John has also trained my 10 yr old son several times now. My son, Matthew, was addicted to video games and didn't like doing anything physical. Because of John, my son now loves to exercise and play outside... he's so excited to see his own progress as he gets stronger and can do things he couldn't do before like push-ups, pull-ups, planks, jump rope and much more. My son is even showing his friends how to be more active by enthusiastically challenging them to play with him doing push-ups, etc together. As a parent, I can't begin to tell you how touching it really is to see this positive growth in my son. Matt and I highly recommend John Spongberg and Personal Training In Marin to improve your health and fitness in a safe, pleasant & playful way!

They're also very accessible-she consistently provides variations on poses to make them more challenging or more accessible. Deanna's positive attitude, patience and supportive nature are definitely worth noting. Her classes always feel like a safe space to try new and challenging poses (or take a break when you need to). They're fun too-Deanna's got a great sense of humor. She's also very present and available during and after class for assistance, advice, whatever.
