On a snowy night in January we stopped by this Mexican restaurant to order a take out on the spot. Friendly staff and courteous. Food was good and plenty. We orders double size fajitas with beef and chicken and was plenty for four. Recommended!! read more

We've been coming to the Azul Tequila for about 4 years. We visit family in St Joseph and everytime we do we have to go to the Azul Tequila. I have never had a bad experience. The food is always good and the service is always great. Everytime we go we see people having fun and enjoying the phenomenal food. They have Video Displays where you can have your pictures posted with family and friends. They also have a Red Carpet Picture Backdrop where you can capture your long lasting fond memories. I plan to celebrate my birthday here with friends. They have a professional birthday club you can join. You'll get your birthday meal and drink for free along with gifts and the Red Carpet Picture Backdrop. If I lived in St Joseph I would be here every week. read more

Azul Tequila - Azul Tequila Mexican Bar & Grill - Mexican Near Me - St. Joseph, Michigan

I love Azul Tequila's food but I'm going to have to wait until COVID 19 is over before I go back. Twice I've ordered food for takeout and both times the employee at the cashier and the employee who brought my food out were not wearing masks. The masks were hanging on their necks instead of on their faces. Being that I am at high risk if I caught the disease I Take this rather seriously. read more

We did a carry out order since we are tent camping with our dog. We had the Pineapple Paradise and 1 beef taco and 1 chicken. Very generous portions. Beef had better flavor than the chicken.. The Pineapple Paradise. Had a good amount of shrimp and scallops. Good flavor. Nice touch they gave us chips n salsa as well.. read more

the food is definitely americanized mexican food. portions are humongous, and they definitely LOVE cheese there because it's sprinkled generously on EVERYTHING. my favorite dish is the molcajete. comes in a sizzling bowl with every meat and veggie they have. yum! didn't care for their margaritas however. very sugary and really weak. read more

I found the Azul Tequila Mexican Bar & Grill back in the spring of 2014. I worked as an independent contractor and was looking for a good Mexican restaurant. I remember I ordered a Chicken Chimichanga. The reason I remember that is because it was the best Chimichanga I had ever tasted. For the next couple years, when I would go there, I wouldn't even look at the menu; I would just order the Chicken Chimichanga... I mean, if isn't broke don't fix it. I go to the Azul Tequila a few times a month. I've begun to order many different things on the menu. I especially like the Shrimp Chimichangas. I've never once had a bad meal in all the 5+ years I've been coming here. What amazes me is the friendliness and the speed of the wait staff. Also, once you get your chips and salsa, (incredible salsa), and start to eat them, within a minute or two your meal is there... It's always hot and it's always incredibly good. Recently, I've heard, from Carlos... they are introducing new family events, new Digital Coupons and new Promotions. They also have a new 'Professional Birthday Club' which you can quickly sign up for on the new Kiosk up front. You can bring your birthday party of 4 to 25 or more for an incredible birthday celebration. Schedule ahead of time to receive the 'VIP Birthday Club Treatment'. They have special lighting, music, signs, banners and more. They will give you a free birthday meal and a free birthday gift along with your special birthday celebrations. The Azul Tequila Mexican Bar & Grill is evolving into it's next new phase. All focused on creating an amazing customer experience for their guests. I keep ordering and trying new items on the menu. When I find one that does not deserve a 5 Star rating... I will post it here. Quite frankly when I see a one or two star rating for a place like this... I don't even pay attention to it. There are always going to be haters. Some will be competitive restaurant owners who are shameless. There's nothing you can do about it. All I know is... I have found a Gold Mine in the Azul Tequila Mexican Bar & Grill and I will keep enjoying it for myself... Thank you very much! :) read more

Horrible service. Argued when asked for a small amount of cheese free added to 2 Childrens meals. Would not recommend.

Considering I have 37 check ins and I think I am the "dutchess" I should probably review. It is a go to since my family lives nearby, as do I. It is nice atmosphere, endless chips and salsa and almost insane fast delivery of your food. Good for large groups of people and we have always had a good time there. Food? I love mexican food, and they are probably one of the best you can get in this area. I lived out west for many years so I say that with the caveat for that statement. But I have an affinity for our small town's establishments and fun mexican dinners with family and friends. read more

This place is just another Taco Bell in disguise!! The food is not as good as it was when it first open. We ordered the chili colorado and the sauce was like bufflo sauce. When we ask for something else we were told to pay for the one being sent back. Restuarants like these dont understand that people do know the difference in taste. The manager was rude abd inconsiderate. The only good thing about this place is thier birthday hat. Nothing but watered down drinks, hateful servers and cooks say in spanish "just tell them its changed they won't know the difference" If I could give this place a half star I would. read more

One of the good Mexican food options in downtown St Joe. They have great service and some classic options. Like most Mexican restaurants in the Midwest they tend to be more Americanized but having said that they do stay true to some good classics. I've tried the Fajitas, Chicken breast, and drinks. Overall everything is good and fresh. I have also ordered and highly recommend Cantarito which is a traditional Tequila cocktail and they are great. I hope they continue to add more traditional Mexican options to their menu, maybe offer quest fresco and homemade tortillas, maybe even menudo, birria, or Pozole would be awesome. They also have some huge Molcajetes that look pretty good but I haven't tried yet. read more

I cannot believe it took me so long to try Azul Tequila. My family has been driving past this restaurant for years and always talking about trying one day. I am so glad we finally did! The outside of the restaurant is very bright and lit up. It almost looks like its solely a bar. When I walked in, I was amazed at how big the restaurant was. There was a big fountain in the middle. It was very pretty! The overall decorations were really fun. There was seating all around the fountain. There was a bar around the corner from the main fountain seating area. They even have additional seating outside. When we came, we sat near the kitchen and bar area. The service was great. Our waiter was very attentive and checked on us frequently. The other wait staff were also very friendly when they walked by asking us how our meal is and if there were anything else they could get for us. Now for the best part, THE FOOD. It was wonderful. I had a bean burrito and a side of rice. It was delicious. The bean burrito was pretty big and I could hardly eat it all! The Mexican rice was great too. My favorite part of the meal was the guacamole. I had not had guacamole in a long time and I did into realize how much I was craving this! It was slightly spicy and it had some extra zest that was so tasty. There were lime margaritas on special. They were very strong. I considered watering my down (I have a very low tolerance). They were in these cute little glasses and were only $4.99 on special. Overall, this restaurant is great. I would definitely recommend to anyone in the Benton Harbor/St. Joe area. It is reasonably priced and I will DEFINITELY be returning the next time I travel to Michigan. read more

Great value and really tasty tacos and quesadillas! We ordered additional food to take home and they included a fresh batch of chips and salsa to go as well! Fast and friendly service! read more

Was a little disappointed. When I heard a Tequila Bar was coming to Saint Joe . I got excited . Read all the news articles on its up and coming opening. Pictures of the decor looked wonderful. I down graded Azul Tequila to 3 stars because I feel if your going to have Tequila in your name . You need to have more then a few Tequilas at your bar. The good was good. But if your going to bring a tequila bar to town bring it or go home. read more

I will never go back to this place again. They charged $28 for shrimp quesadillas, even though every other quesadilla option on the menu, even those with meat, was $12-15. When we questioned the price, the server was unable to explain the outrageous charge and could not provide a logical explanation, as there was no price listed to add shrimp. We asked to speak with the manager, who never showed up. The server kept sending other servers to talk with us, and none of them could explain the pricing. Then as we were leaving, we confronted the manager who said that the issue was "our problem". She was incredibly rude and dismissive of our inquiry. On another note the food was average at best and the chips were flavorless. Some were even soft. Everything was also very greasy. Do yourself a flavor and avoid this place at all costs. read more

I went to Azul Tequila my favorite restaurant. It's under new management. I ordered T-bone steak and shrimp. Red flag...they never asked how I wanted it cooked. Then it was at my table in less than 5 minutes. When I uncovered my so called steak, it was not steak. It looked, tasted and smelled like pork steak. I asked for the manager. She insisted it was T-bone steak. I refused to eat it and had it sent back. The manager still wanted me to pay for the food even though it was sent back uneaten. Then she tried to argue with me that it was T-Bone steak. My husband worked for JBS meat factory. He said it was not T-bone. It was not even steak. There was a man in there that paid for my uneaten meal. He even apologized on their behalf. That was something they should have done. read more

My veggie fajita was delicious, as was my sisters queso fundido - but hers was so greasy that she could not even eat half of it. Chips and salsa are super yummy! Margaritas go down smooth. Great atmosphere! Service was excellent! read more

Excellent service! The food was fresh and the waiter was cordial. When asked for special accommodations, they were agreeable. Some places charge for chips and salsa; they did not. They also offered a mild salsa option; some places just offered it hot. If the customers wants it hotter, they'll give them a bottle of hot sauce. The food was delicious. I highly recommend it. read more

Group of 7, locals who go here often, were treated with total disrespect and lied to 3 times. They sat groups behind us left and right, and told us "they had reservations". One of the members of our party went outside, and tried calling to make a reservation, and they were told "we don't take reservations". We then called the manager out for lying to us, and they tried to tell us they changed the rules 2 months ago. I know for a fact that in March (4 months ago) they didn't take reservations there either. They have now lost long time customers, who go out in a group for dinner almost weekly, and drop a pretty penny. It's not like we were one time out of Towner's, we are the locals who (used to) support their business year round in this high tourist area. I would have given 0 stars if possible. read more

Azul -- you guys are pathetic! You say you don't do "reservations" but you gave our table to a party who came in well after us. You then claim that they had reservations from 2 months ago before you stopped taking reservations. Right . We aren't some out of town people that won't be back -- we were a large group of people that have supported your business since the beginning. Thanks for nothing. If you don't care about being lied to and sub-par food, Azul is for you! read more

Best Mexican food I've eaten in Michigan felt like I was back in California the waitress ana was amazing and made us feel like family.

Service is horrible! I wanted to order a drink and the server say" I have to many tables so I can't get you drink", never heard a restaurant refuse to take a drink order because a server has to many tables that he has to attend to! The restaurant should limit the number Of people they let in so one server could attend certain amount of tables. Won't be going back to this place. Hopefully they get more server/waiters - if not they are going to loose a lot of business. read more

I was very happy with the food and service. It deserves better stars. Place was clean. Server Rigo was very friendly and attentive. Stopped in here for dinner on a Tuesday. (Our Fifth visit) I had the Chicken Chimichanga which was very good and my wife had Tacos Al Pastor which unfortunately she really didn't care for. This place really has the potential to be something great but they are not quite there yet; the lighting is a little dark and the service is kind of hit-or-miss. This place is great! Has a really cool vibe inside and interior design. Furniture and decorations really make for a fun atmosphere. Great for families too. Service is wicked fast, even during the lunch rush. I got the Chimichongo my first time and it was excellent. Next time I got a pair of shrimp burrito and they were fantastic! And the prices are pretty good. Highly recommend eating here read more

I've been reading reviews on this place for a couple of years. Great lunch menu and reasonably priced. Food was good, chips & salsa was good. Extra sour cream was $ 1.99 which was a little steep. Stopped over for dinner on a Monday night after getting into town for a visit. Place wasn't busy, but it took a long time for service. Sat at the bar as I was eating alone. Took about 10 minutes for staff to take my drink order. Two of their beer taps were out. Ordered the taquitos and queso. Taquitos were okay, served fresh and hot. Queso is really good and flavorful. read more

Crazy fast and tasty. My son's favorite restaurant. Perfect for lunch during the work week.

After looking everywhere for someplace open on a Monday, we decided to come here. Super dirty, decore was old and dusty with happy birthday signs and no birthday going on. Food was GROSS! Chips were old and stale and my fajitas were dry and over cooked. Don't go! You'll regret it! read more

I came in with my daughter for early dinner and was seated at the largest table by the bar; we were asked to move because a big party came in, which is fine, but we seemed to be forgotten at our new table. My daughter told me "mommy I'm hungry". I waited a LONG time, asked two people who our server was, and even walked up to the counter where you pay. NO ONE helped us...... finally a waitress who felt sorry for us took our order after I asked; many people seated after us had their orders taken and received food before our order was even taken. So we go to the bathroom after our order was taken and a girl tries to hand me my keys, so I explained we're only going to the bathroom. When we come back, they had cleaned our table off! I don't think she understood what I was saying. We received our food and not once did anyone ever ask us how it was. I had to ask for our water again and walk to the front to get more silverware. Then a man who never acknowledged us before gave us our bill finally. We were in there way longer than we should have been; your food is good but I have never been so disappointed with our experience as I was today. So mad I forgot to use my coupon Not sure if we will return -- feeling disappointed. read more
