Great authentic food with attentive service. They always bring you fresh homemade salsa and chips, both of which are always delicious. Everything I've had off the menu I've loved. Somehow they always manage to keep the chicken juicy. Most dishes are under $10, but the larger and fancier ones are closer to $15. We stopped in here for snacks and a few drinks and it was wonderful. The fresh made to order guac was spicy the way we asked for and boy was it good...muy caliente. Drinks were reasonably priced and strong and served ice cold in clean glasses, I mention this because it seems to be an issue at a lot of places. I've been to Azul's a handful of times because my dad really likes it. The food isn't BAD, it's good, but doesn't seem authentic. Fajitas are my go to here because it's hard to mess those up. My favorite things about Azul's though is 1) their boat dock, after a long day on the river it's awesome that we can dock our boat on the water and come in to have dinner and 2) their fresh guacamole bar! I have to agree with all the positive things in the three other reviews of Azul Tequila except for one. It is not particularly authentic. It is what has come to be expected of a Mexican Restaurant and the flavor profiles are definitely north of the border. The one big swing and miss is the staple of Rice and Refried Beans. Those are so not Mexican. A box of Zatarains Spanish Rice and a can of Taco Bell Refried Beans would give you the same bland result. Perhaps they do. I am a Mexican-American. I grew up with the flavor... the SABOR. This is not it. And it's not about spice. That's Tex Mex. Mexican food utilizes cumin, onion and garlic as a holy trinity of flavor that is barely noticeable here. But I love the place. It is great food. My mother's birthday is on Christmas Eve, and it had been a tradition of us kids to take her to lunch anywhere she wanted to go on her day. It was never here, but since she passed 4 years ago, we have gone here as an homage to her heritage. That, and well, we grew up with and love Mexican food! I live in South Florida and look forward to this part of the Christmas holiday. One reason is, again, part of my heritage. Tamales. Tamales are a tradition in a Mexican household at Christmas. Many a group of related women have slaved over a simmering steamer, bowl of masa and piles of corn husks. To a person like me, it brings up fond memories to take a bite of one of these gems. Azul makes a very good tamale. It is a perfect thing to eat on a day we celebrate the memory of my mother. All of the food I have had at Azul has been great. Underseasoned, but great. And really, they are probably seasoning to the audience. Ya gotta give the people what they want. It still has to be good to stay in business and they are doing a grand job. Their chimichangas and enchiladas are also very good. Meaty and done just right. One of the drawbacks to going to a mexican resataurant (or Chilis) with my wife is that she HATES the sizzling fajita platter-style of service. Face it, you didn't order it but you go home smelling like it. I love it. Again, partly cultural. For that reason, I need to go to Azul sometime on my own to order a really intriguing thing that I saw. The Molcajete. That looks awesome! BTW, molcajete is actually the name of the stone, three-legged bowl the dish is in. It is the base of a Mexican mortar and pestle for grinding and mixing things, commonly made from porous rock. Food: I am a vegetarian and they have good vege options and are more than willing to make sure that your food is meat free. Overall, the food is excellent. I have come back multiple times, something I have not been able to do for other Tex/Mex places in the area. Environment: Festive, fun and clean. Very comfortable. Service: Amazing. They go out of their way to make sure that you are well taken care of during your time there. They take complaints very seriously and work hard to improve your overall experience. Overall: The best Mexican food I have had in the area (I live in Toledo). I would highly recommend this place to anyone. read more

I've been to Azul Tequila plenty of times and I'm rarely disappointed. You can count on consistently decent food and prices, although the service can be a bit lax at times. This place reminds me of a lot of other local Mexican restaurants like Los Mariachis in Wauseon or El Salto in Maumee: the decor is a bit cheesy, but in a likable way; the staff is friendly and usually efficient; and the food is simple, authentic, and mostly tasty. I've had fajitas, enchiladas, Mexican rice, and tacos (not all at once, of course), and it is all good. The fajitas are my go-to order when I can't decide because they are always pretty good, although a bit bland. The chips and salsa are good as well, if not particularly memorable. The only thing I've ever had that I hated was the carnitas, which was dried out, chewy, and just plain awful. I'm guessing it had been made well in advance and had been sitting around for a while. Stick to the chicken and beef and you'll get a much fresher meal. There is plenty of space in the restaurant (since they have moved, that is), and the overall atmosphere is a nice, casual, family-friendly environment. Let's face it, Napoleon is rife with fast-food chain restaurants and very short on real food. If you are in Napoleon and need a decent meal, there are a scant few good choices, and you can't go too wrong with Azul Tequila. read more

About as decent as you can get for Mexican food. Salsa was bland, guac was better. Average service, bathroom was clean, restaurant was overall a good experience. We were passing through town on a road trip and needed dinner, we were in and out within 45 minutes. read more

Food is okay to marginal, which would have earned more stars on its own. However, the factor that led to only one star was that they charge extra for takeout. The first time they charged me an extra twenty-five cents, and the second time they charged me a dollar extra for every meal, and then had the audacity to exclaim that I was not being charged tax, so I should not complain. We were here tonight. We sat right down in a Friday evening. The service was terrific and our food was delicious! We had a little wait because they had a big table. It was a little longer than normal but I didn't think it was too bad. They even brought us a complementary fried ice cream for the wait. read more

Update: Azul is a good mexican restaraunt. They have good food and the service is good to, There is live entertainment (a Band ) most weekends. The one thing some of the workers need to work on is the english language,understanding and speaking it. Otherwise a good experience read more

I like a lot of the food at Azul Tequila, but the last time I was in there a server was rude to me... after she got her tip... :-( I'm not a big fan of that. I wasn't even flirting with her. Sigh. not sure if i will go back... dont get me wrong staff was friendly but very lacking. we sat there long enough to read the menu by the time our drink orders were placed. ordered our drinks and our food at the same time. staff seemed overwelmed and there were plenty of empty tables! bar was cluttered thank goodness no one wanted to sit there! ordered the cheese dip like i do any mexican place was good but the portion in a tiny dish was not woth the $2.50 my husband ordered soup to come out with my dip but didnt come out until everything else. the soup was so salty it was unediable! it was like drinking salt water with extra salt... my husband got the faitas and it was burnt dry and not grand at all. i had a combo platter my chili r was amazing the enchilada a cheese one like i asked for was good but there red sauce is a campbells tomato paste disaster! no seasoning just yuck. had to scrap it off! rice and beans i might as well have eaten cardboard. no flavor at all. i also ordered a tamale on the side... covered with that gross red sauce and nothing in it! just that maze mixture! i got no filling at all. very very disappointing... the pictured on the menu looked so amazing. also had to ask multi tikes for more chips... out first basket was bottom of the bad looking... just small crumbles and the salsa was ok... watered down but better the that stuff at walmart in a jar. only reason i gave two stars is the staff was friendly. not good at service but friendly. but remember dont order the house soup mainly if u have high blood pressure... you may have a heart attack from the salt alone! read more
