The ambience is sophisticated, intimate, and effortlessly alluring. Sitting toward the back of the restaurant created such a dark and sexy atmosphere that was perfect for a relaxed date night. Knowing how much my husband enjoys a well-crafted Old Fashioned, I knew he would appreciate the cocktail selection, and he certainly did. I opted for the Caribbean Queen, which was fresh, vibrant, and beautifully balanced with just the right touch of a delightful kick. Jasper's offered exactly the kind of atmosphere we were looking for--elegant, intimate, and inviting. Between the sophisticated setting and delicious cocktails, it was a wonderful first experience, and one we'll certainly remember.

Only mushrooms and kimchi. Several people from out group ordered the burger and wing appetizers and all said it was good. So the food was 4 stars, but service was a 2 stars. The waitress Katie was so short with us, seldom came back to check to see if we needed anything once food was dropped off. I wanted a second cocktail and had to wave down another waitress who did not acknowledge me, but did talk to our waitress in the side to get her to go to our table. Side note: Happy Hour drink specials are good, but a very limited selection for food specials. Music was a bit loud so it was hard to hold a conversation.

My date and I had to raise our voices to continue our conversation, we wanted to take our drinks outside but were told the patio closes at 11 :( We got lucky as the crowd was really thin but most weekends our server said it gets packed.. it's such a small place, I can't imagine what it would be like with 100 people inside!!

The parking lot is small, and there is a pothole in the alley near the parking lot entrance that will bottom out an SUV. Apparently, there is additional parking, but we didn't see it in the dark. The restaurant is cozy, Hawaiian-themed, and clean. We were seated within moments of entering the host's periphery, and received menus and ice water within minutes. I had the poke bowl last time, and I remember it being chilled and gently flavored. The avocado and spicy mayo did a lot of the heavy lifting. It was filling and very healthy. My partner enjoyed the Ipanema Sandwich last time we visited. This time around we snacked on the fried halloumi (fried cheese and mint yogurt dip) and Lumpia, taquito-type beef rolls, with sweet and sour dip. We absolutely demolished the coconut cream pie for dessert. The pie was so delicate and lovely that even my partner enjoyed it, a typical coconut detractor. I recommend Little Nickel to anyone looking to try something unique and ambitious that veers from the well-trodden culinary path. The staff here were courteous and helpful, the restaurant was clean, and the food was firing on all cylinders.

He asked for the password and we, unprepared, had to tell him a joke or an interesting fact. Luckily, my partner had one on hand. The atmosphere was lovely, very reminiscent of a 1920s speakeasy, or at least what you'd imagine it to be like. Our server came by within a few minutes of us being seated. She lacked enthusiasm, unlike the host, unfortunately. Her service turned out to be lackluster as well. We ordered the chicken pot pie and the filet mignon with asparagus. For drinks, the Grape Gatsby and Maine root beer. The food, like our server, lacked appeal. The saving grace was the host and the atmosphere. The view was lovely and the intimacy of the setting was a welcome experience. For dessert we ordered the bread pudding, and it was tasty, though nothing special. The burned odor that we smelled prior to its arrival turned out to be the bread. I can recommend Grandstaff and Stein as an experience, but you should not expect much in the way of culinary delights or exemplary service. From my understanding, this lounge is open on Fridays and Saturdays only so far. Tickets for the show we were going for were $7. We didn't pay at the door, they put the $7 ticket on our drink tab. It was pretty packed, but the three of us were able to find a seat. It took a while to order drinks, but it feels like they're still figuring the best system out. My friend and I ordered the hibiscus spritz which was incredible. It was such a huge and delicious serving. I highly recommend ordering this. Our other friend got a regular old fashioned that she enjoyed. Do know with the music, it gets a bit loud so you end up screaming at each other. It was really good music so it was totally fine. At some points people made the tiny elevated section where the DJ was a dance floor. While this isn't a dance spot, there is a tiny space to dance. There is lots of seating available here, so even though it was crowded, it was never shoulder to shoulder packed (unless you tried to dance). The decor is unique with exposed brick and hieroglyphics matching the Egyptian restaurant below. I'm excited to return to try more delicious cocktails from their menu and see other DJs.
