Deep-Fried Ice Cream

Chips are unsalted salsa is very bland and has zero spice I rank it a 2.8/10. Service is good and food came out very fast. Beans that came with my burrito are tasty I give them a 5.7/10. I got the chipotle burrito and it is very tasty the avocado is a little over powering but I give it an 7.8/10. My gf got chicken and rice it's nothing special but it's not bad I give it a 4.3. The fried ice cream blew my socks off it was the first time I've ever had fried ice cream so I have nothing to compare it to but I give it a 9/10. I'm sorry I didn't get more pictures I didn't think about it until I was half way done with the entree. I give it an overall score of 4 stars because of how fast the service was how good the ice cream was and the burrito and and beans the chips and chicken were the only things that kept this from being a five star. Overall a good dining experience, and I would recommend

Great chips too

Absolutely delicious! Loved the atmosphere, food and staff! Street tacos were so very flavorful. Chicken burrito was tasty and tender. Highly recommend this beautiful place!

The pork carnitas were excellent! They also have some of the best salsa in the country. Highly recommend this place.

If you haven't visited Randall's Seafood since he took over Cpt Avery's you're missing the boat!!…read more My husband had already been there for crawfish (only place we buy them) but I wanted a tour. We decided to try the frozen soft shell crab to take home and make poboys. Honestly my expectations were low. Boy was i surprised! We picked up Cartozzos poboy bread from Macs Grocery and I'm here to tell you, NOLA got nothing on us! They were amazing. Not that expensive either. We also picked up some dressed rabbit and I smothered it in gravy. I admit I was disappointed it came from China so i probably won't buy it again, but truthfully, it was delicious. Oh, and the crab stuffed mushrooms...delish! Randall's is always friendly, helpful and courteous. They have a super variety of fresh seafood and we highly recommend you pay them a visit. I promise you will find something you like. It's so nice to have a local market that truly appreciates your business!

Let me start off by saying I LOVE chicken cracklings. Being from Mississippi, we don't really have…read morespots that sell them fresh like Louisiana does. So whenever I'm passing through, stopping at Billy's Boudin & Cracklin or Randall's Cajun Foods is a must for me. I went to Randall's today. About 5 months ago, I stopped in and the cracklings had clearly been sitting for a while, they were tough. I explained my concern and even offered to pay extra just to have a fresh batch cooked. After going back and forth, they finally made them fresh, and they were exactly what I wanted. Fast forward to today, I called ahead and specifically asked for fresh cracklings. The young man on the phone said okay, no problem. I walk in 5 minutes later and there's already a bag waiting. I asked where they came from and she told me they were cooked that morning. That was an immediate no for me. If I'm spending $21 for a pound, I don't want tough, sitting all day cracklings. Go ahead and put those back. I ended up trying the boudin balls, big mistake. You could tell they had been sitting too. At that point, I didn't even have the energy to go back and forth or ask for a manager. Honestly, it should be a given. This picture is pepper jack boudin ball. Look how dry it is . Needless to say, I won't be back.

Apero - The hummus was alright, but its nice to have with cocktails.

That was a great first impression. And then our server greeted us by asking which of us was celebrating her birthday. I'll assume that was a brainfart or a failure to read the reservation notes, but I wondered briefly whether he assumed two women dining together wouldn't be celebrating an anniversary. We started with drinks; she had a 1988 (a variation on a French Blond, but named as a tribute to the year the Women's Business Ownership Act allowed the owner to go into business for herself) and I had a Royal Navy (a zero-proof cocktail with delicious herbal and citrus flavors). They were both outstanding. The cheese board, listed as the chef's selection of 4 cheeses and housemade crostini, also included a cube of guava jelly as lagniappe. The kitchen sent it out without crostini, and our server (not one of their regular servers, I guessed) didn't tell us what any of the cheeses were. This baffled me; when we ordered it the server actually explained what 'crostinis' (sic) meant, as if we were unfamiliar with the term. Whatever they were, they were tasty, and lucky for us none was soft enough to need a platform. My wife says her jumbo shrimp skewers were great and she loved the chimichurri enough to take it home for later. My market salad ("local lettuce mix, rotating summer veg & dressing") was a perfect example of quality over quantity: pecans, crumbled cheese, fresh berries, and raspberry vinaigrette on leaf lettuce. Eight beautiful, tender pieces of lettuce. So I certainly had room for dessert. And the dessert was a real treat: a three-inch peach caramel tart, an anniversary gift to us. We enjoyed it and had an enlightening conversation with the charming GM, who confirmed my suspicions that the uneven experience was a result of another staff member stepping in to cover for a server. If Apero fits your budget once in a while, give it a try. They're likely to delight you. (But if you're used to larger portions, you might want to have a bit of a snack first.)
