My wife and I had a fantastic experience working with Azteca Brick Paving. Julio and Caesar helped us develop a design for our driveway and front patio that allowed us to reuse our existing uneven pavers while incorporating new border pavers. Their creative approach saved us a significant amount of money without sacrificing the final look. They also designed two new flower beds that beautifully tie into the driveway and front patio, creating a cohesive and polished appearance for the front of our home. Throughout the entire project, Julio and Caesar were responsive, knowledgeable, and helpful, taking the time to answer questions and guide us through each step of the process. The finished product exceeded our expectations, and we couldn't be happier with the results. Their attention to detail, professionalism, and commitment to finding cost-effective solutions really set them apart. We highly recommend Azteca Brick Paving and wouldn't hesitate to use them again for future projects. Couldn't recommend them more read more

We used Azteca Brick Paving (Julio, Carlos, and team) to install permeable pavers in our backyard to help address flooding from recessed concrete and to expand our usable space. After getting multiple quotes, Azteca offered the most competitive rate. Julio was responsive and easy to work with -- he stopped by several times to provide feedback, share color options, and was always accessible by phone and text. The crew worked efficiently, and we were pleased with the final result. Our project came with a 5-year warranty, and at the time of this review, I'm working with Azteca to address some minor brick warping. I'm hopeful this will be a straightforward fix under the warranty. Overall, we would recommend Azteca for your brick landscaping needs. read more

We just had our patio created by Azteca brick and it looks more amazing and beautiful than I could of ever imagined. Julio and Caesar helped cultivate the perfect backyard oasis for us. They were extremely responsive and professional and made the process very smooth. We had them complete our patio, fire-pit, built in kitchen, posts for string our string lights, and landscaping. read more

Called them for a quote and they quickly came to give me an estimate. All of the workers were very professional and seemed like they had lots of experience. Any questions that I had, they were able to answer without any hesitation or problems. At the end of the job, I was amazed at the final product. They did an exceptional job and did not charge me more than what was agreed upon. I definitely recommend it to everyone. You won't be disappointed read more

I wish I could recommend this company because the person who came out was great, but no one ever got back to me with an estimate or returned my messages. read more

Caesar and his team are very responsible and providing great quality of work. We had them do our patio. It looks awesome. They are professional and hardworking crews. Their price is reasonable, fair and affordable. I really appreciate their hard work especially during hot weather! I would highly recommend if you ever want to do your patio. read more

Loved these guys and I love the project. They work so fast!! I had them rip up a bunch of concrete in my backyard and and put pavers down and created a new sitting area. At one point I wanted a slight design change and Julio was so kind, gave me time to think about it and said - 'whatever you want, let me know and my guys will make it happen'. Thank you for my new yard! read more

I had an amazing experience working with Azteca. The communication before the project was clear and prompt. The patio itself was built quickly and with great attention to detail. I would absolutely work with them again in the future. read more

Julio and his team did a fantastic job even as COVID-19 restrictions made in person meetings a challenge. He and his crew were always in PPE and maintained appropriate distance as much as could be expected. We really appreciated that. The work itself was top notch. They tore out an old, crumbling concrete Sidewalk and patio and replaced it with beautiful pavers. Their attention to detail was fantastic - - making sure everything was level and fit with our yard's dimensions. We will definitely have them back for further projects. Highly recommend! read more

Julio and Cesar were very easy to work with. They provided amazing ideas for my space before we all settled on one. They worked fast and I am beyond impressed with the end result. I hope to work with them again soon. read more

Azteca Brick Paving did a phenomenal job on our 2,500 square feet patio. The sophisticated pavers and borders are a beautiful design. The outdoor kitchen with a BBQ grill, sink and refrigerator, fireplace, and sitting wall are luxurious. We collaborated and built the cedar (20 x 16) pergola to seal the deal. Their teamwork and on-time delivery proved that they are a structured family-owned business. Our staff, freelancers, clients, and tenants will enjoy the entertainment space, and create wonderful memories for many years. We highly recommend them. You won't be disappointed. read more

Julio came out to our property and told us he would provide an estimate for our project the next day. We are still waiting. Julio gave us no follow up call, no email, no estimate, no nothing. We have called and left numerous messages on his voice mail but he has still not responded. After walking the property with him and going over our project, we now feel like he completely wasted our time. Steer clear of Azteca if you are looking for a professional. After reading other reviews of Azteca, it seems this is common. 0 Stars. You're rolling now - got any more to add? read more

It was so easy from start to finish--would hire again! Called Azteca for a quote, and Julio came a few days later to assess the space (12x12 patio.) He provided multiple estimates on the spot depending on the type of brick and pattern chosen. All very reasonable prices compared to the other quotes I received. I wanted a herringbone pattern with a border and was thrilled to find that that was their basic/baseline pattern. I asked a few follow-up questions after Julio left, which were answered in a timely manner via text. I sent the signed contract the same day, and they were able to come the week after. The patio has a pretty aggressive grade, and they did an okay job trying to level the brick to the concrete border. The entire job only took 4 hours and the finished product looked good. The team was respectful of the space (some sand left over on the ground and furniture, which was expected.) Overall great experience. read more

We had a few quotes to have our backyard (city/small) re-bricked and some more general improvements including new sod and rocks replacing mulch etc. Azteca came in and knew what we needed, made great suggestions, was receptive to our ideas and questions and communicated well all along the way. Most importantly we have a great looking backyard that feels professionally done. We were thrilled all the way through with our experience and would highly recommend them. read more

I hired Azteca to expand my brick paver patio. They discussed what I wanted to do and had some suggestions. They were able to match the existing brick so that saved a lot on the cost. Their crew completed the job in 2 days. The price was reasonable and my patio looks great! read more

Seems unfair to give one star based on no work but this is based on my experience just trying to get them to respond to a call. Years ago I had seen an Azteca sign across Old Orchard Mall in Skokie so I called to get quote on a project. No response. Now, years later I saw they were working on a home a block away, so I stopped to speak with one of the gentlemen. He gave me his number to text him, Again, no response to me nor my husband's multiple attempts. read more

These guys did an amazing job making us a back patio. We had nothing but a sad patch of grass with an old crumbling concrete gangway. Now we have a beautiful space we've used every day and invite friends over to share it with us. The price was reasonable for the work they did: build a patio over most of our back yard (in the way I designed it to flow), take out the concrete gangway and use pavers to replace it with, eliminate the flooding problem where that gangway was, and build us a step into our garage. It took them four days, this was a big job. They did it the right way, no shortcuts, we watched them carefully do everything by the book. Julio is pretty accessible through text, though we didn't need to reach him often; everyone showed up on time and finished when they said they would. We couldn't be happier with their work. read more

AVOID THESE PEOPLE! I paid them over $25,000 last fall (2020) for patio work that was supposed to be finished this spring. While they were happy to take our money, they will not respond now to complete the project. I will take action against them, but signed up to Yelp to warn others from being ripped off by doing business with Jose and Carlos. Trent in Highland Park read more

It took a little extra time to start the job (Rain, Covid19), but once they got here it only took a total of eight hours over two days. The results were more than I expected. I love my new patio. Great price too. read more

Azteca were not only the first people to respond to my request for a quote, but quickly came over to our home and gave us an estimate. They worked closely with my wife and I to select the right color stone and the specifications for our fire pit. It took their crew only a day and a half to completely transform our backyard (and added sod as well.) Cesar, Julio, and their crew were professional, flexible with our time, and left our backyard ready for summer. I highly recommend them for your patio project. read more

These guys are amazing! They completed a beautiful back patio for our condo building and we could not be happier. They were quick with the job and cleaned up after everything was done. They laid the brick in a beautiful pattern. Setting up an appointment for them to look at everything was easy as well. The value was so worth the price! I would highly recommend them to everyone looking for a new or updated patio. They also took appropriate precautions to maintain social distancing and wore PPE at all times. read more

I'm hoping they read this review, because they won't return my phone calls. Azteca installed a great patio for us in May 2017, and with it came a 5-year warranty on the labor. The warranty was amazing, and price was right, so I contracted them. Now it's 2019, and I have been trying to contact them for 3 months to come out and repair my patio, which has gotten very wavy and dips that retain water. Their main number is a cell phone. I did receive a text after 2 months stating that they would be out in the next day or two.. 3 weeks later and they still haven't shown up or returned my calls. read more

They were efficient and quick. We got a quote and they were patient with us as we were shopping around for a landscaper. Once we got started, they showed up to work promptly at 8am and were done within 2 days. They did a great job with our yard! The stone combination looks lovely. read more

Posting an update to say that I got a call from Julio and he let me know that they have been dealing with some family emergencies and their office manager should have been informing customers. Julio and the team did an awesome job! Julio was extremely professional. He explained how the patio would be done, from base layer up. He even had design suggestions that I had not thought of. Having work done in the middle of a Pandemic, I was impressed with Julio's quick response and how quickly we were able to schedule work to be done even though they were very busy. Very reasonably priced, too! He did a large patio in our backyard that included removing old concrete. They were also able to coordinate with other companies to get us a new solid wood back gate and front gate, as well as a concrete walkway! We even got electrical extended out into the new sitting wall, and an extra outlet under the porch. They did a nice ring around our tree as well. They removed bushes along one fence and added sod. It looks so much better, and now I want to sit in my backyard all day and enjoy! read more

Called for a quote, they came out the next day to assess our property, told us they would get us a quote in a couple days. Over a week later, still no quote after being told twice that they would send it (my husband texted them both times asking about the quote - they never reached out it is). Very unprofessional. Definitely not a company we would want to work with. First impressions are everything and potential customers shouldn't have to chase you down for a quote. read more

Azteca paving did a great job on my small project. I had tried to get quotes from other companies but they really didn't want to do a small job. They came in early in the morning and by the end of the day had completed. Unlike some neighbors who hire people that just throw debris everywhere, Azteca was considerate and cleaned up. Very happy with the job and will likely come back when I save up for the rest of my patio. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. I met with Julio for an estimate for an entire front and back landscaping and hardscaping job. I was told to pick out my trees, bushes, and unlock pavers at Lurvey's, and they could start within two weeks. I picked out all my items, informed Julio, and never heard from him. No estimate, no call back, no text message. Don't waste your time Chicago. read more

They were in and out in the space of two working days, did a beautiful job, were easy to work with, changed course when I requested it, and overall just great craftsmen. We reached out to Julio in May, 2019 to discuss a patio installation. After much back and forth to schedule a time to meet, we agreed on 9:00 am a week or so out. I re-arranged my schedule to be there (and to be late for work), and on the set day he informed me (at 8:15 and only after I texted to confirm) that he couldn't make it because he was in Hyde Park on the opposite side of the city. The company has good reviews, and perhaps they do good work. But my experience was not positive. read more
