Coffee stayed hot and the refills kept coming without me having to flag anyone down. My mom and I come here a few times a month and have for years. The food is always amazing, and the service is truly top notch! The waitresses are so sweet and friendly, they bring the food out quickly, and always check on us several times to make sure we have everything we need. This is our favorite place for breakfast, and I was surprised to see some negative reviews, because we've only ever had wonderful experiences. Cute little diner. Terrible service. Both sides I ordered were not available. Menu was not consistent with what they had. I was not a local so I wasn't taken care of, I guess. Took 45 minutes to get my food and then I wasn't even given the whole order. No one checked on me. Didn't get a refill. ​I was super disappointed. Service was great! Kind and very friendly. We ordered the Hobo stew and cornbread and the chili and cornbread. The Hobo stew was excellent! It tasted great! The Chili was not good at all. They ran out of cornbread but they made us cornbread flapjacks and they were great. This was our first visit to this cafe but we would definitely go back! read more

1 star is generous. Staff friendly.... Stopped in for breakfast, stale toast....ordered wheat got white. Eggs cooled off before served, ham mostly fat......hashbrowns were good but warm not hot. Terrible. We thought this place must be great because it is packed at 11:30 on a Saturday. Oh how wrong we were. We ordered an egg, a bowl of oatmeal with berries, the scramble special with a side of grits, water, orange juice. The food takes forever! I mean a very long time! When we received the food the hot plates were cold. My egg was so cold I could tell it had sat for some time. The only good thing was the oatmeal. My husband said that his food was cold and greasy like it had sat in a skillet and they just poured it onto a plate. The staff are nice and seem to know everyone which was endearing. I wouldn't go back though. Surely they know that food gets cold if it sits. I would have rather they bring me out things as they were prepared then to let hot food sit waiting for the other food to be prepared. read more

Avocado, Bacon, Steak, and Mozzarella The food arrived fairly quickly. Everything, from the omelet to the toast, was great, with the exception of the hash browns. I definitely want to praise our waitress, I didn't get her name but we were the only people in the restaurant so she came and sat at the table next to us and talked to my infant daughter so I could enjoy my food uninterrupted. We waited almost 15 minutes just for someone to come over to our table to give us drinks and to take our order. When we finally got our food the portions were incredibly small.it is not worth the prices they have! I don't know if it was an off day for this Cafe but none of the pictures showing the food seem to be accurate by the looks of what my husband, his friend and I ordered. It seems the wait staff doesn't care about people's times. We came at 1pm, there were a few tables that had 2-3 people at each table: we would try to get the attention of the waitstaff and the one girl working seemed uninterested in waiting on us. I just moved to Azle and wanted to try something local to support the community but we will never be coming here again. read more

First time at Azle Cafe. Service was immediate and friendly with a small TX town cafe vibe. Waitress knew regulars names and the furniture wasn't fancy new stuff - was exactly what one would hope for in a true TX cafe. We started with an appetizer of mozzarella sticks which comes with 5. Not sure what company they order them from, but they were some of the best I've had. Saturdays special is the burger basket so we both went that route. I was expecting a good home style burger being a cafe, but we were left a little disappointed in the patty. The patty had absolutely no seasoning or flavor and was very bland. It was a thick patty, which was nice, but as far as taste the best comparison I can make would be to that of a thick concession stand burger. Definitely recommend getting some add-ons or sauces. The homemade fries were absolutely delicious, however. They aren't seasoned or salted, but with a little salt added at the table they are true homestyle cafe fries like Grandma used to fry up in some good flavor filled grease. We will definitely go back for fries, mozzarella sticks and to try the rest of the menu, but won't be our burger spot. read more

We haven't been here in a few years, we used to meet my dad here for their catfish. So we were hoping for some great home style food. That didn't happen, my husband was going to order the hamburger steak, it came with 3 sides, he asked if he could do the salad bar in place of 2 sides, that was a no, it was an additional 3.99. So he changed his order to the special which was catfish, I ordered the lunch pork chop, that only came with 2 sides, none of this is noted on the menu by the way. I ordered mashed potatoes and fried squash. The catfish was very muddy tasting, french fries were cold,no seasoning not even salt! Pork chop was very salty, the instant potatoes tasted just like they poured out of the box no seasoning at all not even salt and pepper, I've had hospital food that tasted better. The fried squash was all stuck together which made the inside of the batter raw, as in the pictures so they offered to redo it or bring me something else so I opted for the cabbage, and it had a funky taste and so discolored there's no way that was from today,it had to be several days old,fresh cabbage does not look like that. So needless to say we won't be back because there's too many great places that doesn't serve mediocre food. read more

Very friendly and fast service. I got the special of the day, chicken and dumplings with a roll. It was very good, so I ordered some to go. The roll was soft and sweet. . My daughter got the Shrimp poor boy sandwich with onions rings. She said it was really good. The onion ring were perfect, as the onion didn't come completely out of the breading when you took one bite. Matter of fact it could be broke in half with onion in tact.
