Donald did a good job at a reasonable price replacing an angle stop valve for the supply line for…read moremy toilet. It was a nightmare situation as a previous contractor broke it and left me abandoned and my main water supply wouldn't turn off so I could literally not sleep for 24 hours as I had to empty a bowl every 30 to 60 minutes (the supply valve is low so it would not accommodate anything larger underneath) or it would flood and ruin the new flooring that was just installed. It did ruin my brand new baseboard that I had just had installed the day before. He kept blaming me saying by turning the giant nut I somehow ruined the pipe which I don't understand but I did everything to try and loosen the bolt under urgent and impossible conditions and stress and I found no special instructions or tool that specified one as a necessity to use on it in all my research or that I had done anything wrong, but it had been there for 30 years and was fused on tight and wouldn't budge even with two vise grips. With the flooding happening I was desperate to get it removed so I thought that his continuous commentary was strange. He also said I had to loosen that nut clockwise as if it were reversely threaded but discovered that was not the case multiple times in my research so again I'm very confused. If something had been critically missed I wish he would've at least told me or made it clear what my alternative was otherwise assigning blame does little good; I am not an experienced plumber. I did not see nor was ever shown how he ultimately removed it so the whole point was moot. He walked off with my channel locks which I informed him of immediately after he left. He said he didn't have it then the next day he said he did but that he couldn't return them until after I left the area for a couple weeks at which point I told him he could drive out to my house. Luckily he changed his mind and returned them that morning as it really isn't my responsibility to retrieve them. I had been thru two days of hell from the previous contractor with 8 hours sleep over three nights. But he did the job and it took him no more than 15 to 20 minutes. There's a really big gash in my wall now where the valve is but I guess he had to do that to cut the pipe. I will have to find a wall cover plate or something to hide it or else patch it up. I then had to call another contractor to check the toilet seating as the flooring installer who left me with the leaking supply valve was supposed to handle it but did not do it right. Ultimately I had to hire three contractors in 36 hours for the same bathroom.

They ran into some problems as our house in Maricopa had not had a loop put it during construction and the water lines ran under the foundation...but they kept at it and were able to do the water softener along with all the other things. Don and Mike did a great job and worked really hard..Mo...the owner came out as he was familiar with Province and the older Engle Homes and knew exactly where to get the water lines to do this. They did a lot of extra work and did not charge us extra over the estimate. They all did a great job and would highly recommend this business for plumbing and AC/Heating needs.

We called them again Nov 2023 for shower filter cartridge replacement. Two people came, 1 male and 1 female, and they said they have to buy the parts. They came back and replaced the cartridge for less than 1 hour and charged us $275 without any details on the receipt except shower cartridge replacement. We thought the charge was very high especially since they didn't explain what was wrong, what they replaced, and the cartridge is 40$ on amazon. We paid didn't have the chance to ask the details about labor cost and materials. I called and left a voice mail and requested a call back for breakdown of the charge. They didn't call me back. The shower was fixed but I had a feeling of not fair trade after they left. The most important thing is that trust feeling as a customer that a fair trade of payment and services occurred, as an example, the people we like to work with again would explain what they did, will have an itemized listing of what was done, would explain what will happen and roughly how much it would cost before they start the work, so there is transparency in everything but sadly, none of those happened and I didn't feel the trust and fairness after the service.

The inspection was scheduled in a few days and I had three MINOR plumbing issues which needed to be addressed. But for lack of the proper tools I could have done it myself. Two service men arrived, I showed them the work and the supplies I had in place. The apparent supervisor had an agitated look on his face and I can only speculate that he was frustrated a few opportunities to pad the bill so when I asked for the estimate he gave me what I considered a wildly unreasonable quote for labor of $230 and a few parts. When I questioned his bid pointing out it was pretty easy work that wouldn't take long he became aggressive and loud. As I was kinda in a spot, I told him to go ahead with the work and that for the remainder of his time on my property I expected to be spoken to in a professional manner. I allowed the second tech into the house to do the work needed, wanting Mr. Smart Mouth to remain outside. The conversation with the second tech was pleasant. The work was done to my satisfaction and took about 30 minutes. Now the average rate for a plumber is about $65/hour. How was it that for one hour of labor I had to pay $230? Is this reasonable? In my opinion, it isn't. The topper was after paying Mr. Smart Mouth (outdoors) and the work was done I was in my house feeling gouged but glad it was over. I turn a corner and there is Mr. Smart Mouth in my hallway. No ringing of the bell, no permission to enter... He said he wanted to make amends and to be honest I was not interested in the least. He said he had called my real estate agent and was offering me $21 back. WHAT? You called my real estate agent to tattle? You 5'5" (ish) little bundle of aggression, act all dominant and at the end of the day you are about as tough as little girl. Amends were not made. It isn't just about money. I don't take being spoken down to by anyone let alone a humonculus that I am paying. My suggestion, learn some ethics and when being a bully doesn't pan out for you try some manners.

Recently, one of the pipes connected to our water softener in the garage suddenly burst late at night, around 11:00 PM. A large amount of water sprayed everywhere and flooded the garage floor. We contacted two other plumbing companies we found online, but unfortunately, neither of them responded. Thankfully, we found American Plumbing & Rooter. When we called, Rich answered the phone right away and was incredibly helpful. He quickly scheduled an appointment for us, and a plumber arrived at 8:30 the next morning to replace the damaged water softener. We were very impressed with how efficient, friendly, and professional they were. The plumber was patient and took the time to explain why the pipe had burst and gave us very helpful recommendations to prevent similar problems in the future. Their follow-up service was also outstanding. A few days later, Sunday night, we were surprised to discover that we had no hot water. We texted Rich to ask what might have happened, and he responded very quickly. He explained that when the water softener pipe burst, the large amount of water spraying out may have extinguished the pilot light on the nearby water heater. He then patiently walked us through the steps to check it. Sure enough, the pilot light was out, exactly as he had explained. He also guided us step by step on how to relight it, and we were able to get our hot water back. We are extremely happy with the service we received from American Plumbing & Rooter. Their prompt response, professionalism, knowledge, and excellent follow-up service gave us great peace of mind. We highly recommend American Plumbing & Rooter.
